Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Spiderman.

Is he strong? Listen bud—
He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead.
Hey there! There goes the Spiderman.

In the chill of the night,
At the scene of the crime,
Like a streak of light,
He arrives just in time!

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Friendly neighborhood Spiderman.
Wealth and fame, he's ignored—
Action is his reward.
To him,
Life is a great big bang-up—
Wherever there's a hang-up,
You'll find the Spiderman!
LMAO!!!

IMO, Rich is fast enough, athletic enough and definitely strong enough to become a very good wrestler in his takedown attempts and 6 months of intensive training here is plenty to make great improvement, 2 years would be perfect.... his wrestling defense is great, just like Silva's, but with Silva's standup being so much better Rich needs to train in wrestling offense.... You're not a well rounded fighter if you don't, Rich relies on Jujitsu, standup and GnP.. and he finally paid the price with his lack of training in wrestling offense, because of someone with the stand up and jujitsu abilities of Silva.

Not to say Rich could ever beat Silva, I always forget Rich doesn't take a punch as well as some of the tougher UFC fighters. However, the one area where Rich could make the most gains is in his takedown offense and he obviously hasn't improved on that since he began in the UFC, he hasn't had to, until now.
This is an excellent post. I agree with everything you said.

What's up with the booing of Big Tim, I know he's not a fan favorite, but none of these people know him, what is this the wwe where you cheer for the good guy and boo the bad guy? The Cinncinati(?) crowd were a bunch of dicks, oh well I guess it serves them right that both of there fighters lost. By the way, watching Jorge Gurgel(sounds like gurgle) get his pretty little face get tenderized into hamburger was wonderful, I dont know why the ref didnt stop it, but oh well, welcome to the ufc kid
Okami did not get KO'ed by Silva. Silva hit him with an illegal blow (kick to the head while he was down) and was DQed because Okami couldn't continue to fight so he actually has a win over Silva.
u should watch the fight on rumble on the rock.

okami was posturing up, and then he got ko'ed by and up kick
Wow. Where are all the Vera fanatics now? Tim Sylvia should be devastated by knee and kicks at this point. Next time you jump on somebody's bandwagon, make sure they actually belong in that weight class
Vera fought the biggest, scariest guy in the HW div. (with a broken hand) and he look the same as when he walked in. Vera said, "when someone kicks my ass, I'll drop down to LHW". Brandon asked the crowd if Tim kicked his ass, they said,"NO" then he said, "I GUESS I"M STILL A HW BITCHES". Why does Vera's size bug some people? He's the one in there (NOT) taking a beating, from the bigger guys.
Lets examine the middleweight division to find who could beat silva:
the top 15 IMO CHAMPION - Anderson Sliva - CHAMPION
1 dan henderson - NON 185
2 paulo filho - NON UFC
3 matt linland - NON UFC
4 rich franklin - just got owned by silva twice
5 yushin okami - already got ko'ed by silva.
6 nate marquardt - already ko'ed by silva
7 denis kang - NON UFC
8 martin Kampmann - recovering from injury, with more fights he may fight silva
9 trevor prangley - NON UFC
10 robbie lawler - NON UFC
11 jason macdonald - too low in ufc order to get a shot.
12 frank shamrock - NON UFC
13 chris leben - already got ko'ed by silva
14 thales leites - lost to kampmann, too low in order to fight silva
15 frank trigg - NON UFC
of fighters there who are fighting in the ufc at 185
okami, kampmann, macdonald, leites are the only ones who are in contention against anderson silva, even though okami got knocked out he got the dq win so the ufc will probably hype that.
the next fight for silva is okami if okami gets another win. mark my words and hardcore nerdiness
If you are going to mention Lebin, why not mention Cote, he's got some sweet hands ,KO power and an iron chin (never been KOed)and he is good at not taking damage (Tito couldn't hurt him).
Here's a thought: can Rich lose some muscle and move down to WW? As we've seen with Anderson, you don't really need a lot of muscle in MMA. MMA strength is different. Guys like BJ and Karo have MMA strength, yet are not very muscular. I'd pay to see Franklin vs. GSP.
R u serious? Rich used to fight at 205 he's an enomous 185er. No way he could make WW. Moving back to LHW is much more realistic.
Look at Rich's weigh in pic. To see those little ripply muscles that look like ribs, you have to be at bodybuilder competition bodyfat (about 4 or 5%) if you go much below this it spells death. So ,Rich could could never fight lower than MW, he is stretching it at that.
According to another site, Vera broke his hand. It's not an excuse though. I'm not afraid to admit it when I'm wrong.
Me too, that was a pathetic performance from Vera. Let me also add if Vera did break his hand ,that was a super pathetic and lame performance by Syvia, because he should of destroyed a guy with one hand and Vera look no worse for the wear, after they wiped the blood off that scratch on the top of his head.

spider is a BADDDDD MAN i almost feel bad for rich though. he is a class act and a pretty damn good fighter, just not in the same class as the spider. silva needs to learn some english. dana needs to throw some green stuff at hendo to get him in 185, i would love to see him and silva go at it. from what i was thinking, rich can woop everybody in his division except silva, so i guess that puts him in a strange situation.....
