I hate listening to Joe bitch about his girl, but I feel for the guy. He was put up on such a huge pedestal by Matt Serra. He trained this guy and believed so strongly in the guy that he picked him number one(the biggest opening blunder by a coach that I can remember). Serra thinks this kid is going all the way, right up until they're standing in the locker room pre-fight and he tells Joe,"They fixed Humpty Dumpty didn't they". That was another great example of how Serra should think before he speaks. Joey had to be thinking Matt thinks that I'm gonna get beaten. Now that Joe has been defeated physically he still has to live with all those guys. That's gonna be a long six weeks for him. He is also insecure about his girl who he said he would propose to when he got back. If he can't trust her then why would he marry her? Serra should be supporting his chosen one with better coaching. I don't know why Serra would leave practice because Joey wanted to make a phone call, then when the kid denies it he let's him off the hook. Why not just ignore him or tell him come to practice and we'll talk about it?
As for Dorian, he allowed himself to be choked out the same way Joey did. Matt Serra isn't being so loyal when he tells everybody what a coward Joey is. Joey at least has company now.
I'm not sure if i heard right but.. Dorian's got an MBA?
Yeah he does have an MBA from Ohio State...

When they pick these fighters they are not just picking them based on skill. They are searching for personality as well. People that will sell the show. All reality tv shows search for more than just the specific talent or item they are looking for. If they got 16 fighters that barely spoke and where total meat heads, noone would watch but the last 5 to 15 minutes of the show just for the fight. The shows is a marketing tool. So when a guy puts on the TUF show it appeals to his girl or wife as much as it appeals to him. This way they build a stronger following. How many girls now watch the UFC because of guys like Forrest, Michael Bisping, and Kendall Groove. There needs to be a human element not just the fight game.

The 6 weeks of no contact should be a minor detail for a lifetime of opportunity. So you can not read what you want, listen to the radio, or watch TV. That probably is the best thing that could happen to some of these guys. Like someone said earlier some of these 20 year olds probably have not even gotten out of their parents house so training was their but not a lifestyle. By removing all outside elements they force a fighter lifestyle upon each of these guys and see what kind of person(how much heart) these guys are. They get a great fight contract for a year, for the winner, and most of the guys that even put on a good show get the opportunity to get at least 2 or 3 undercard bouts and make a name for themselves there. These guys need to buck up and enjoy the free ride they are geting. A pimp house, the most elite training from some of the best that the MMA world have to offer(which under normal circumstances none of these guys would ever get or afford), a training facilty that is second to none and more than likely the standard to build to, and more than likely the opportunity to make some money and get national exposure.....So stop the blood clot crying...
I agree with rick, SUCK IT UP! like this is a chance of a lifetime and i can't believe how much they complain about it. honestly, who cares man? i'd do anything to have a chance like that. i dunno how they can like give up just because they get eliminated. i'd still love the opportunity to train there with the team by a ufc superstar and his team even if i didn't have a shot in the competition anymore. and you still have the chance to fight on the finale, and most of those guys who get eliminated keep fighting in the ufc anyways after the finale. stop crying about your gf or the outside world, it's not that interesting out here anyways, i'd trade places with them in a heartbeat!
Look at their age...most have probably never been away from home and aren't used to cooking their own meals. I bet that they never been away from a cell phone, PC or even a Playstation for two straight days before. They're not looking at the pros, just the cons.

Can anyone say deer in the head lights when he said look into my eyes he is "serious" i saw road kill..Who picks these fighters there has to be better fighters out there wanting an opprotunity the first loss was a grapler who was submitted with a lazy choke with seconds left in the round, and the second loss (Dorian) must have never been on his back i dont think he could have got up even if no one was on top of him.

I actually like the attitude of Dorian a lot but when it was comin time for Serra to pick the fight, he was getting all goofy. Thats when I was like "what a weirdo" but he brought me back when he said he wanted some fat hookers and a latino midget....going down as a prophet in my book. hahahaha
they want to keep replacements close by. I understand that, but i think it's too much of a distraction to have them right there in the house.
Thats the point. They say that by locking them up in the house they are taking away distractions, but the point is actually in taking away everything that can mentally support a fighter, while throwing pressure at them that can break them down.

Any fighter who can thrive in that environment can survive the rigors of elite UFC competition. It really says something that many fighters nobody expected to go anywhere have done well in TUF. Those fighters have usually carved out successful careers in the UFC after being considered afterthoughts going into the show. Florian was just a dude on TUF, and has blossomed into a borderline top ten fighter in the LW division. Rashad has become a potential title contender at LHW. Luke Cummo is still on undercards, but is clearly a legit UFC fighter. Kendall Grove was just a dude going into TUF 3, and now he's a legit middleweight fighter. Did anybody see Manny Gamburyan coming?

The UFC doesn't want fighters winning TUF and then cracking under the pressures of main card PPV fights. So they put them into a pressure cooker and see who steps up.
