Hamill Bisping

Quoteworthy:

“The rematch betwen Hamil and I was being planned for Nov 17 in New Jersey. Unfortuntely Hamil1 is unable to fight as he is having knee surgery. I am dissapointed as I was really looking forward to fighting him again. That said, myself having a torn posterier cruciate ligament in each of my knees for my last 3 fights I can understand why he’s having it. Wishing you a speedy recovery matt and hopefully we can ‘get it on’ soon. On a side note it gives my big toe a chance to heal as I stubbed it on the way o the Octagon. Stay tuned….”

– Michael Bisping reveals that a rematch against Matt Hamill was being discussed for UFC 78 in Newark, N.J., on November 17. The two former contestants on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season three fought to a controversial split decision at UFC 75: “Champion vs. Champion” earlier this month in favor of “The Count.” For the latest UFC 78 fight card click here.

F*ck the rematch. Bisping needs to fight at middleweight. I could care less about a rematch against Hamil. Bisping should cutt down to middleweight and fight Mcdonald or Okami at the NJ event.

oh that sucks!!! I wanted to see that rematch ASAP!!
i think in the meantime Bisping should drop down 185..
then when Hammil is ready, the ufc should make it happen regardless!!! I still think it should be a free fight..

Man I hate this guy more and more every day. Trying to throw in his own excuse now about some knee issue he has had for the last 3 fights and then a smart A$$ comment about stubbing his toe. Please just put this clown in with Houston or Henderson or someone with lightning in their fist and drop this idiot for good.

Well, he wasn’t serious - he was making fun of Hamill for being a pussy. His whole quote was mostly sarcasm if you read it closely…

“…That said, myself having a torn posterier cruciate ligament in each of my knees for my last 3 fights I can understand why he’s having it….”

He’s basically saying he’s had the same injury in his last three fights and that he thinks Matt is a puss for cancelling their fight over it for the surgery.

“…On a side note it gives my big toe a chance to heal as I stubbed it on the way to the Octagon…”

And here’s he’s making fun of his injury again equating Matt injury with a stubbed toe.

Damn. I wish this fight was going to happen in NJ. I would MUCH rather see the Bisping/Hamimll rematch than the Tito/Rashad rematch.

I really can’t believe all the smack Bisping talks. I can’t wait to see him get beaten down so badly that he blows out both of his knees on his way down after getting KO’d, and then gets carried out on a stretcher.

Bottom line from thier first fight is this. Bisping was 100% healthy. Bisping just had his best training camp ever. Bisping was fighting in front of his home audience. Bisping arrived in England weeks before Hamill. Hamill had a very badly injured knee that required surgery, but since he’s a warrior he took the fight anyway. Hamill is deaf! He can’t even hear the instructions from his corner. That is a major disadvantage. ALL of he cards were stacked against Hamill to lose, and instead he ‘wins’ the fight and multiplied his fan base by 1000.

You would think that Bisping would have at least started to learn the lesson that if you don’t show respect to other fighters, the fans will not respsect you!!!

What the Hell is the UFC doing?? Why are they even worried about this fight! Bisping was exposed! With the state of the LHW div, Serra vs Hughes title not comming til after TUF, Sherk appeal, Fedor not being signed!, the only thing to look forward to is a Silva vs Franklin title! I am not happy with the UFC right now!

MANIA: Can we get some good news please!

Are you kidding me, Bisping? You already lost so many fans because of your arrogance and lack of class after the fight in England and now you come out with this kind of comment about Hamill getting a knee surgery? Didn’t your mama teach you anything? Kudos to Hamill for taking the time to get back to 100% before going back into the octogon. Imagine the damage he would have done to Bisping if he would have been able to take him down and ground and pound? Maybe we’ll never know, and I’m fine with that. I won’t watch Bisping fight again.

He didn’t win that fight, he dominated it. That “shitty left jab” pretty much countered everything Bisping did. Add in the take downs and the ring control, plus the fact that pretty much everything Bisping threw hit Hamill’s guard until the last round and you have a clear victory.

I wouldn’t be so annoyed if Bisping wasn’t such a classless ass.

Your kidding mo……Lidell was so bad at 76 it was sad to watch. I luv Lidell but he wouldn’t last two rounds with the top light heavys at the moment. It’s hard to swallow though….. Jardine is improving every fight and he deserves credit as one of the toughest in the game.

Although some bloggers seem to have a problem with Bisping’s personality (i’m not seeing it particularly as most of the complaints seem to be over post round quotes after he’s had an exhausting battle??? What are you looking for??? a detailed review of the fight??? Both guys are lucky they can talk at all….)he is talented but perhaps could fight a weight class lower. He is so far ahead of Hamill particularly his stand up though…. As for Hamill…..he was beaten by Bisping once and will no doubt be beaten again. I have serious doubts as to wether Hamill has taken anything on at all in the past 12 months. He has raw aggression and wrestling skills and that is it. He has got to be a dissapointment for the guys that are putting time and effort into him.

Thanks Guys

Hamill could have DOMINATED that fight Josh Koscheck styles. If he wanted to keep Bisping down, he could have done it. He chose to stand with him, which takes guts, cause he’s DEFINITELY not known for his striking. I think Bisping probably took the last round (sort of), but Hamill DEFINITIVELY won the first round, and soundly won the second. He got robbed on that fight. Whoever was saying “all he did was walk forward”… yeah, and all Bisping did was RUN! My whole family is actually English (I’m Canadian), and I like English fighters who show traditional British class and humility (eg. James Thompson, aka Megapunk). Bisping’s a fucking punk, and he should have admitted that he got a lucky fucking break. UFC judges are pretty sketchy in my opinion. They USUALLY get it right, but sometimes, like here… they fuck up BIG.

I don’t necessarily agree Toby (Toby is my name too so you must be a solid punter!) but well said. I’m stoked at the 78 matchup - Evans Vs Bisping - yes this is not a top of the table Light Heavy setup but these guys should match up really well together. Definetly worth the $40!

Bisping probably picked up the ‘tude from Frito Whortease. Or maybe he was born cocky-jocky. His comments WERE right after the fight. Controversy sells, it is, after all, why we all want to see Tito get thumped by Ken, or anyone- at least I do. It was kind of bullshit, but it’s not the first close call I’ve seen. Part of the game is the rules, and the judges. Everyone wants to see arrogance and disrespect corrected. Keep that in mind, Mike. He’s a good fighter however, with an amazing flying knee and bag of well rounded tricks. I think he trains hard and his personality is, well, what it is- he’s kind of a dick. Better than being a pussy or an asshole I say. I wouldn’t discount his killer instinct. I haven’t seen him cry yet, and I don’t like to see men cry, it’s awful- the reality show saw too much sometimes. Good show, Mike. Keep perspective. Does anyone know where the moniker ‘the count’ came from?.

Hamil clearly won the fight against Bisping. Bisping was surprised by Hamil’s striking power and ran the entire fight. Unfortunately, Hamil was home-towned because he was fighting in Bisping’s back yard. After the fight, Hamil, being a class act, said he trusted the decision of the judges.

Bisping is a mediocore MMA fighter. His stand up is marginal as he never throws combinations, and he lacks power. If he stays at light heavyweight he will eventually get knocked out by the upper-tier fighters. Then again if he drops down in weight he will get beat by the top tier there too.

Working out with Rampage will not help Bisping. Rampage is the champ because of his unbelievable strength, stamina and iron jaw (it is almost impossible to knock out Rampage with a head strike). Because Rampage is so strong, he does not need to be as technically perfect as the other fighers in the division.

In sharp contrast, Bisping has none of Rampage’s qualities (including his sense of humor) and needs to focus on improving his technique - particularly his stand up. However, Bisping could beenfit from lessons from Rampage on how to improve his overly egotistical, dour personality.
