The new syndicated UFC program, “UFC WiRED,” will begin to air in select markets throughout the nation on October 6 with show host, Joe Rogan, at the helm.
Here’s a snip from UFC.com:
“[UFC WiRED will feature] some of the greatest bouts ever held in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s infamous Octagon. Each week, host Joe Rogan will give his unique perspective on UFC fights featuring today’s top mixed martial artists, plus fighters from years past.”
This “hard-hitting one-hour journey back in time” is the first-ever syndicated UFC program, meaning that it should penetrate a much larger national audience.
Check local listings or right here for channels, dates and times to catch “UFC WiRED” in your area.

i love it! more UFC to watch, can’t beat that! 1st in woo-hoo!
i really hope they go back to like UFCs 1 - 40, you don’t see much of those ones as you do 43 on. great to see yet another show on MMA. my wife ain’t gonna be happy though haha.
What’s the difference between this and Unleashed? Just the fact the Goldy hosts Unleashed, and now Rogan will host Wired?
Any word what stations if any this show is going to be on in canada

Seriously. Plus they’re just gonna show the same matches we’ve seen numerous times.
What they need to do is create a program called “UFC - The Undercard”. They can have a one hour program per month, where they show us the preliminary bouts from the previous month’s PPV that we all pay for, but never see.
Now THAT’S an idea. Not recycle the same stuff we’ve seen already.
Showing old fights over and over again can only lead to one thing –> Oversaturation

Damn I third that, good one. But I think this show is just to attract newbies rather than for those who are already hooked. “THE UNDERCARD” that is a serious idea, if that show already existed this months [september] would have to be like a 3 hour special!!! That would be a real spectacle, especially the Babalu Vs Heath match.
This is cool but.. come on..
They are introducing so many PRIDE champions to the UFC.
They need to start showing actual fights. They have a MASSIVE library now, and they need to show the US fans what PRIDE was, and who these PRIDE fighters were. since now they are taking so much crap for being bad.. US fans who dont know PRIDE need to see how great it was
Link didn’t show listings but this one does: http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=misc.wired
I hope they show really good old fights that are hard to get a hold of. I got a real hankerin’ for Penn vs Pulver 1.
Love the undercard idea Mike. I also propose that if Rogan is going to host an hour-long show he should try to look less douchey.
We need to be able to purchase the official JOE ROGAN THESAURUS : It has about 10 words in it: Phenominal, Awesome, Crazy, Insane, i dont know the other 6.
Thanks for the props on the UFC: The Undercard program. Too bad it will never happen though because Dana and Company want us to fork over an additional $2 per fight. I don’t know about you guys, but I prefer to watch MMA on my television rather than my computer.

hahaha! Nice. But you forgot SERIOUS.
Undercard idea is awesome.
got to add “sick” to the Rogan thesaurus.
I’d like to see them put a techniques section on some of these shows to better educate the public to the kind of action seen in the octagon.
Got another one, ANIMAL

Can you imagine Rogan in bed?
“My God, that feels awesome…unbelievable! You are phenomenal. Whoa! That is some crazy, insane flexibility. Wow! That is a really siick tattoo…I’m pumped! I’m going to pass on the rubber guard. Now, I’m just going to push down on your knee, take your back and go for the rear naked. Wow! That’s in deep! Droppin’ some bombs! No, he’s out. I’m gassed. zzzzzzz”

i was just gonna say the same thing…

That’s the best combination of funny and creepy I’ve ever seen. And you need to add ‘rocked’ to the Rogan thesaurus.
I’m guessing the difference between this and Unleashed is that Rogan will provide commentary and insight either during or after each round — explaining moves, strategy, etc.
This format would be very similar to what Frank Trigg does on his PRIDE FC show that airs on Fox Sports Network.
Something tells me new fights will be featured. Have you noticed (I’m sure you have) that the Unleashed episodes have been repeats the last couple of months? It’s probably because they haven’t been making new ones, because they’ve been using the newer fights for this show, WiRED. (At least I hope so…)
UFC is taken over the TV. Love it.

I love the idea of showing us the prelims that we never get to c. Also, I would prefer them showing me fights from the pre zuffa years. I know I have never seen wandy vs. Tito or Sakuraba when he fought in the UFC, or Hendersons old UFC fight. Or UFC 37.5 Liddell vs. Vitor, stuff like that. Not ther same Forrest riffin vs. stephan Bonner crap that we have all seen 1000 times already.
Show us the fights that we c`ant buy on DVD and that are only sold on VHS (pre-zuffa years). Thats what I wanna c.
Question:
Can anyone tell me y the hell they are releasing all the pre-zuffa years DVD’s in England but not in the USA, same with the newer Pride dvd’s, they have all been released in Europe but not in the USA………. I just dont get it and its pissing me off!

Just Guessing …Could it be that we are already hooked? This stuff is for their coveted, new, European market that gets Bisping decisions. JMO
Roganism: Higher on the Food Chain - that should be about 10 by now.

If anywhere, it’ll be on SpikeTV
I’m looking forward to the show, but I wish they would get someone else to host it. I can’t stand Joe Rogan, that fool is so loud. He yells, even though he has a mic in his hands. Does he know how mics work?
And his standup sucks, during the guys choice awards, I think they had to use a pre-recorded laugh track. Rose MCGowan got more laughs.
They should just have one of the ring girls host the show, who cares how much technical speak they know. Bikinis and kick ass fights = syndication.

agreed. damn good idea. i read one comment on here or a forum at mmaplayground saying that they should air the undercards the following week on Spike. now that is a good idea!!!

The old UFC fights would be great. I’ve got most of them in .avi form but seeing them on TV again would be nice. Show Frank Shamrock’s total domination of the UFC, show Tito back when he was the man (after Shamrock left), show the early Chuck fights when he did more than just throw counter punches, the early Couture fights, Hendo, etc. There is a ton of great early UFC stuff that so many people have missed. Especially for the “TUF fans” who have barely scratched the UFC surface in many cases and would probably appreciate seeing the roots of the sports a bit more.
man, is there any way you can upload those avi’s? or even tell me/us where to get the from?
eric b
First, the Joe Rogan in bed was seriously funny! I don’t know if Zuffa owns the rights to the original UFC’s. I’m sure someone here can confirm that. Second, it would be nice to have a show (like suggested) that showed just how technical the fighting is. The grappling has come a long way in the last 5-8 years, and most people don’t know it so they can’t appreciate it.
I’m waiting for a magazine for MMA that profiles some of the less know or newer fighters and stuff. I know there were a few here and there, but none that were produced and published at a very high level.
