How the hell did he do that?!….That’s amazing. Shamrock did it against Baroni didn’t he?….Okay if they rematch I’m only giving Bisping a puncher’s chance at best. Matt Hamill you hero!

Looks like the rematch wont happen for a while. How do fighters survive pay wise without fighting for so long? I know Nick diaz says he lives from payday to payday

Sponsors pay a lot. The purse spreadsheet of what each fighter is paid is never the correct number because it doesnt include sponsors, promotional stuff, a bonus, ect ect. I know some peoples sponsors do stuff like “we will pay for your houses internet connection for a year” type stuff. They do it all.

I have been a Matt Hamill fan actually before he was on TUF, because I have seen him wrestle at tournaments before considering he lived in Loveland Ohio, and would wrestle in Cincinnati for tournys.

He is a very class act guy, he might come off as cocky to some people, but if you respect him, he respects you.

I love it how now everybody is on The Matt Hamill bandwagon, nobody liked him during TUF, nobody liked him at UFC 66, but now everybody loves him.

Weird.

I have never had anything against him, the more I see of him the more I like. He seems like a genuine guy, nice, and respectful.

Anything he could have improved on in the fight? Would have been his conditioning! He seemed very gassed in the late 2nd and 3rd round. If he improves is conditioning he will be a great LHW.

I think knee surgery will put this rematch out of reach. Bisping will probably drop weight before Hamill is ready to go. It doesn’t matter cant change the decision and everyone could see major holes in Bisping’s game. Hamill IMO won that fight atleast they way I scored it 29 - 28.

Not only that… but alot of decently known (not big named) fighters have gyms that they work with, that get paid from that. And lemee tell you, a well know martial arts school can bring in great money. I have friends involved with TKD, they do very well.

Also, Chuck fought with a torn ACL, and I think some other big named fighter did around the start of this year. Appearently its not out of the ordinary as the ACL supports the knee for cutting and such? I had a friend who is studying to be an orthopedic surgeon explain it, but Yuengling is good, and my memory isnt.

Chuck tore his MCL not his ACL, big difference. Depending on if it was a complete tear or a partial tear, some people can still play or fight with it. It’s rare (there was a running back that played with a torn ACL, can’t remember who), because the injury is pretty severe and needs to be repaired. The ACL provides stability to the knee joint. It will limit rotational movements in the knee as well as prevent excessive movement of the tibia moving to far forward in relation to the femur.

I’m so sick of all this Matt Hamil talk. Yes I have gained much repsect for him but lets face it he isnt even a top 25 fighter. Therefore I could care less about matt Hamil. It will take him at least 2 more years to become a complete enough fighter to make some noise in the division. We get it, he got robbed, he is a class act, and he is a warrior for fighting hurt. Now please enough is enough, can we please stop talking so much about this c-level fighter. This isnt what I call new.

What I wanna know is who Arlovski, Big Nog, and Randy are fighting next. Thats what I call news!

Chuck better beat Jardine so that we can c chuck vs. wandy!!!!!!!!!

I find it bizarr that not a single person asked Matt Hamill a question at the post fight press conference. They didn’t even give him an opportunity to comments.

What was the UFC thinking bringing in a deaf interpreter for a deaf fighter? I just shows the type of people that run the UFC.

check this article out:

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan appeared on 106.7 FM KROQ “The Roq of the 80’s” to discuss mixed martial arts. Partway through the interview Rogan stated that Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic was considering quitting during his fight with Cheick Kongo at UFC 75: Champion vs. Champion.

“If you watch the last UFC, this is something nobody knows, the Mirko Cro Cop fight that was on Spike last week - he got kneed in the balls, he went down and said to “Big” John McCarthy, “I’m too old for this shit.” and Big John said “No man you’re fine, you’re fine.” and he goes, “No I should just quit right now.” He said this while he was down and Big John goes, “If you want to quit just let me know and he said no, no I don’t.” So he had 5 minutes to recover and said he was too old for this.”

The UFC signed Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic to a lucrative two year, six-fight contract in December 2006. At the time, Cro Cop was on top of the world winning the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix which consisted of him defeating Wanderlei Silva and Josh Barnett in the same night to earn the tournament belt.

Since joining the ranks of the UFC heavyweight division Cro Cop has been a total disappointment. He was victorious in his debut defeating Eddie Sanchez by TKO. Since then he has dropped two straight fights, a vicious high kick knockout loss to Gabriel Gonzaga and a decision loss to Cheick Kongo.

I doubt Any fighter has fought with A REAL torn acl.

IVE torn my ACL and there is no way anyone could fight after that kinda injury .

“might Require Surgery” ????????????
If you tare your ACL You have to get Surgery. Its A MAJOR injury..

X-Rays , MRI’s , Ultrasounds Then Surgery And Then X rays And Then Months and Months of Pysiotherapy .. It Took more than a full year to recover.. And still your Knee will never be the same.

Hamill had 5 take downs, 3 side mounts and blood coming out of multiple new holes in Bisping’s head. Hamill won easily and that decision is a travesty and puts UFC’s credibility in question. Can UFC be so afraid of british hooligans that they purposely fixed the fight decision?

At the time it was infuriating. I was real into the controversy. But, then, after hearing and reading into so much, it is finally old. The news regarding Bisping and Hamill is going to be around for a very long time, there is no escaping it. Oh, well.

Mirko should of quit: A broken rib, his balls split, making three. When is it safe to quit, and not be called a pussy? Never??? Probably not. Screw pride on that one, he should of quit.

If you listen to the interview Matt says he is getting surgery. He just doesn’t know exactly when and Matt’s manager also confirmed that he would probably be needing surgery last week on a radio show. This injury isn’t something that just happened.

The Matt Hamill Bandwagon? You act like he just upset a top fighter and everyone just jumped aboard. Just because you saw the guy wrestle in a few tournaments doesn’t give you the right to judge his fans and supporters. I’m curious, what does a fan need to do to support Matt Hamill and not be accused of “jumping on his bandwagon”?
People are showing their support for a guy who displayed a tremendous amount of character, heart and repect. What is wrong with that? It’s not like everyone is riding him because he just upset a top 5 LHW.

Most of the people I know became fans of Hamill after hearing his story and seeing him compete on TUF. Most of them think he would have won (Just like he did at ufc 75). Even the one’s who did not think he was any good still had a ton of respect for him because of his achievments (especially considering the obstacles that he had to overcome).

I read and post on MMA message boards daily. Hamill gained A TON of fans and support during the show. The fighters in the house did not like him. But a large number of MMA fans and viewers of the show really did.

Sure, of course there are people out there that dislike him. Some people thought that he was a little cocky and arrogant. That is how it goes with every fighter in the world. Personally, I didn’t think he was arrogant at all. I actually thought the other fighters were being idiots because of the way they were treating him some of the time. It was good to see that atleast Abadi had his back. I think you are just a little bit too full of yourself. Maybe that is what confused you. You do not seem very bright. Just because the fighters in the house didn’t like him doesn’t mean that none of the fans did.

I agree that no one like him at UFC 66. I myself did not like him at UFC 66. However, that is only because he did not fight at UFC 66. He fought at UFC 68. I was pulling for him big time. Besides becoming a big fan of his during the show, I wanted him to smack Rex Holeman around.

War Hamill!!! Hamill by TKO (referee stoppage) in the rematch.

I tore the ACL in my right leg and delayed surgery for several months in order to finish two tournaments. So you can still compete with a torn ACL. It depends how bad the tear is and how much the fighter is willing to bear the pain. You must not be able to take any pain.

Matt Hamill didn’t tear his ACL, he had a torn meniscus and has already had surgery. The UFC wanted a rematch with Bisping coming up in Cincinnatti but Matt said he wouldn’t be ready to fight by then but should be by December 29th in Vegas.
If he comes back at full strength with no limitations, I don’t see a way how Bisping can win. Hamill will pound the piss outta Bisping.
