UFC 76 web site

(Observation: Forrest Griffin seems very relaxed and confident during his interview about Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. In fact, it seems as though he requested the fight with one of the top light heavyweights in the world to get on the “fast track” to a title shot.)

It is actually a really great site. The Lightheavyweight section of fighters is unbelievable, there are no matches, including rematches in that division that i wouldn’t pay to watch. Now if only the other divisions got this kind of publicity. Somehow they made everyone look extrememly badass with the photo shoot and you can easily find all figher info. Thanks UFC, now if only they will make a Hamill vs. Bisping page for us all to post comments on…hehe right.

Its a really good idea on Forrest’s part. He’s got nothing to lose. He’s still going to get destroyed, but atleast he’s giving it a shot.

Forrest is a tough guy. I don’t think he wins, but I think Rua has to work a lot harder for the win than some people on here seem to think he does.

I know he is still one of the best, but Shogun looked a little chubby in that video. I hope he isnt going on a “Liddell”.

I design and develop Websites for a living and UFC is putting HUGE dollars into their PPV websites. I assume this is strictly FOR the fans because they could really get away something a LOT less than what they do and they could still be great. And they have to have a big team that does these because as you all know, these fights get put together quickly and they don’t have much time to put everything together and in Adobe Flash, it’s not nearly as easy to make changes as it is in standard HTML (Flash is basically like animating and editing an actual movie). A lot of thought and planning has to go into Flash sites.

oh and i don’t care what Rogan says in the Countdown episode for 76 (because he somehow is always able to change my mind for all the fights I’ve watching on who I think will win) but Jardine and Forest are both going to get knocked the eff out! :)

Hell Yeah, Forrest is fucked. Shogun has already fought in a cage and he did fight Overeem without head stomps and soccer kicks and he dominated so I think Shogun is going to be more then ok, plus he trains with Wanderlei. I don’t car what anyone says about Wanderlei losing to Henderson because Wanderlei is still one of the best.

Shogun looked fat! Hopefully that video was taken a long time ago lol. Maybe the fact that they test for steroids over here is going to screw up his game.

Dude, Im the biggest juanito and Rampage fan, but come on. I aint buying the Shogun or wanderlei steroid hype until they actually test positive for it. Shogun and wanderlei have both fought in America and never tested positive for anything. Lets stop spreading rumors. Y do we discredit fighters because Rampage and Juanito said so? I dont care about what they say about fighters that destroyed Rampage.

When will we learn that not everything we hear is TRUE. Rampage and Juanito have no proof, they were just speculating. Y taint the reputation of the #1 LHW fighter in the world without having proof?

Hmmm, I’d be really disappointed as it would basically mean Pride was a crock of steaming bull$h!t. Doubt it though. For sure a tonne of them were on it over there but hopefully not the Chute Boxe Boys.

All of Team Hammerhouse were ‘roidheads.

Shogun does not “look” fat, HE IS fat, take a look at him when he is in the video, he’s got love handles and a gut, he looks wide! He looks nothing like his Pride fights, someone here mentioned something about him using steroids in Japan, I don’t know about that, but if it’s true, don’t think you will see the Shogun from Pride in the UFC. I am a bit shocked to see him with blubber around his midsection.

I agree that the likely outcome is Rua by early stoppage. However, anyone who things they’re absolutely certain of this outcome look no further than Gonzaga pulling off one of the the most insane upsets in MMA history. Head kick? To Cro Cop??!!

Furthermore, I distinctly remember the solemn, somber funeral dirge that quietly rang before Couture fought Sylvia. “I hope Randy doesn’t get hurt too badly.” Comments like that were everywhere. It wasn’t whether Couture would lose, it was how badly. And then he dominated.

The point is we can prognosticate all we want, but the year 2007 has taught us very clearly that ANYTHING can happen. Just ask Matt Serra.

Is it me or does Forrest look bigger thru the chest? He is one tough guy who I would never bet against. I dont how many saw Forrest get knocked out with a “Gonzaga” like kick issued by Jeremy Horn, but, perhaps, he has learned some things to hang with Shogun?? Forrest you are one crazy SOB.

To Bad I have to watch some form of it on the web. No more PPV.

I think if Forrest loses you put him up against Bisping. This is fight I would pay for.

Peace

LMAO. If we see PrideFC Shogun then Forrest better not try that “hit me a few times to get me started” strategy.

What amazes me is when Shogun broke Rampage’s ribs in his fight there was no chance for Rampage, he just got annihilated. But when Cro Cop had his ribs broken early on in his fight he survived and by comparison done fairly well, despite taking kicks and knees to the mid section throughout the rest of the fight.

Does anyone know why this is? Can Rib fractures really vary that much in way of severity?

i would say it depends on what rib is broken and how severe the break is, it’s possible that CC’s was just a hairline and “PAGE” definately had a cracked rib which could bother internal organs. middle rib injuries are the most common and can cause problems with the lungs and so forth, but if it was a lower rib then it could start to bother the diaphragm, both are very painful and would definately hinder your ability to fight ~ either way you gotta give it up to both of them, i mean i know “PAGE” proceeded to get his head booted like a soccer ball while falling through the ropes but they both showed heart after the respective rib injuries

I had no ideathat Rampage and Juanito had even said anything about that. You have a link for that comment from them?

Regardless, my comment was based solely on the rumors about Pride fighters in general and how fat Shogun looked in that vid. First Filho and now Shogun…If that’s how Shogun looks on fight night I think we can assume that a lot of the good fighters in Pride had a little help.

Absolutely rib fractures can vary in severity. Theres some general information available if you Google it. Also factor in all of the soccer kicks & knee’s to a downed opponent that were delivered during the Shogun vs Rampage fight. I’m sure all of that blunt force trauma to the head magnified any trunk pain Page was feeling from the rib break.

UFC needs to have that ring of contenders for every division… except middleweight. That might be a bit depressing when you’ve only got 5 guys on it. WW and LW would be awesome to see though.
