The CRO COP v. KINGO fight was going great in the 1st round, Kongo himself was shitting his pants and walking back so freaked out [no one ever expected CRO COP to come after him opponent like he did in R-1] that he actually tripped and fell on his arse... wow if you did not see that then you should re-watch the fight.

The second and third rounds were won by Kongo, for sure, but why Mirko's performance was so different than the first one, well before you say anything re-watch the fight.

NOW FOR THE ILLEGAL SH**T:
(1) the knees to the groin area- It is very much so an illegal kick, in all forms of MMA, even the "no rules" VALE TUDO. Now a 1st kinck can be an accident, a 2nd kick can also be an accident but a third kick is just a dirty fighter taking advantage of a another fighters unwillingness to cry out to the ref. and the the refs belief that a 'PROFESSIONSAL STRIKER LIKE KONGO, WOULD BE ABLE AFTER NUMEROUS FIGHTS, TO JUDGE HIS DISTANCE AND RANGE' apparently that is not to be expected.

So, should he (KONGO) be disqualified?
YES- for using the knee 3X, 2X after being warned.
YES- for using the knee as a means to take an opponents energy/ strenght- illegally.
YES- for failing to follow UFC mandated rules of fighting.

ONE MORE THING, taking a SINGLE point off does nothing to help speed up a healing process after an illegal groin kick, punch...or whatever.

Now for MIRKO, a performance like round ONE in the fight w/ Kingo was superb. Following a loss against Gonzaga, I believe that 85% of world class MMA fighters would ave given up or taken a year off, believe me, belive me! JOB WELL DONE, MIRKO.

He got kneed in the balls twice my friends... and not a little bit, very hard knees to the balls.
He got some time off you'd say, well Kongo also got time off and his balls were doing fine - in other words he was simply resting and recovering possibly getting tips from his corner. so by the end of the rest your balls are still sore while Kongo is all fresh

Cro Cop is looking like Frank Mir did recently. All the talent in the world gone bad for one reason or another. For Mir it was the hesitation with his leg injury and time off. For Cro Cop I think its the change in venue, rules, etc. I think he was over-confident and thought the Gonzaga knockout to be a fluke. Now he knows UFC fighters aren't chumps so he won't make the same mistake a third time.

Mirko you just don't look comfortable in that cage. It looks to me that the space is too big for you and you need to overcome that. You are better fighter than Gonzala and Kongo but you have to learn how to own that space the same way you did in Pride. You got to make it work for you. You can DO IT!!!!
cro cop is a good fighter he has 2 loses on his record that doesnt mean anything
he takes some time off trains more get more comfortable in octagon his next fight could be andrei or vera he wins that one then wins oanother one we could see him go up an if he does he is not going to stop until the match for title ans then we can predict anymore after that he is done with fightin maybe as last match with fedor an done
The thing is if he can't beat a pure kickboxer like Kongo, I don't think he stands a chance against a kickboxer , BBJ and a wrestler (VERA). Vera is not just ok at all these things , he is great at all of them. Vera and Randy would maul CC. Mark my words, I would bet my house on it.
Cro cop needs to drop to 205! He could be a champ there. the gap between heavyweights is too great now with that giants are training with camps like Coutures' and big bear etc. There is no shame in droping to a weight class more suited to your natuarl physique
I don't know, Randy and Vera are about the same size as CC and they don't seem to have a problem with the big boys. Mind you I think they are the 2 best HWs and there skill( mainly wrestling) makes up for their smaller size.
"Mirko is a tough guy, one knee to the balls and he wont complain but two and even he feels it", even though I usually agree with Rogan all I was thinking is when it comes to being knee'ed in your balls there is no such thing as a tough guy, lol!!!
When Rogan said that No Man can take two shots to the balls, two words came to my mind = Joe Son
If you don't believe me, watch the old school fight between Keith Hackney and Joe Son. Joe Son has him in a guillatine and Hackney winds up and puches him HARD right square in the dick like 7 times.
Joe Son can take a shot to the nuts like no other!!!!
Did they even where cups back then.
Everyone seems to be writing off Cro cop but just because he lost 2 fights in a row does not mean he's finished. All he needs in more confidence in the octagon as all of his professional life he has fought in a ring (K1 and Pride). To make the transition to the octagon will take a bit of time. He only started training in a cage for UFC 75. Anyway, BJ Penn lost 2 fights in a row, but he seems to be coming back well. I just think that one big win for Cro cop in the Octagon will bring out the old Mirko we know. As he said, it will be a new 'Challenge' fighting in the Octagon. Plus, he got kneed in his privates at UFC 75, It would have been hard utilising his kicks after that.
I think it's because of the manner of those losses and the fact neither were ranked top 10. It's sad; I had to watch the OWGP again to remind me how good this guy can be.
