“… it’s not a competition, it’s a fight. And I’m there to destroy my opponent, I’m not there to compete against my opponent, I’m there to annihilate my opponent. There’s no room or space for allowing him to get into the fight, I need to stop him from the moment I step into the Octagon. If not, it’s going to be my ass. (Laughs.) And that’s been my philosophy out there — I’m there to kill. That’s it.”
– UFC Lightweight contender Kenny Florian shares his new approach to fighting during an interview with CBSSports.com. The former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) contestant is set to face crafty veteran Din Thomas in the main event at UFC Fight Night 11 on September 19. Note: This is not a new nickname. Even though it’s more intimidating than the current “Ken-Flo.”

Did “Ken Flo” finally change his nickname???
After all these events it will be time to re-do the fighter rankings…
Good for you Jennifer Lopez give him hell in there!
September is the offical month of the UFC. ( well at least this year it is.. )

Coming after 75.

No! Sorry if that was misleading — just me having fun with the post title.
“I’m there to kill. That’s it.” - they’ll do his ass like babalu
I wish he’d change his nickname…
..and that you did by running away from Sherk and running into one of the Octagon posts.
I wish I could throw some thick rimmed glasses held together by tape on the guy and give him a book saying “Pure Mathmatics” and then point the school bully his way.
I’m sure the next couple of minutes would consist of the school bully getting his arse handed to him.
Ken-Flo finishes, as he’s said before. This match with Thomas should be good but I see it going Florians way.
He may have been able to beat a roidless Sherk.
And after I kill him I’m going to deliver his yougoogoly at the funeral. Or don’t you think I would be a good yougoogolizer?

Were you trying to spell “eulogy”? lol
Kenny is one tough Nerd! This dude is a gammer. Everytime he gets in the octagon he looks better and better. This fight vs. Din thomas should be very exciting, and very tough to predict. If I had to choose, I would go wit Ken-Flo. He started off as wit a strong Ju Jitsu game. Now he has added many new weapons to his arsenal. He should get an award for most improved leg kicks. I saw him a couple fights ago and I was like where the hell did those kicks come from. Lets not forget his razor sharp elbows. Din is a tough veteran. I would prolly have to give him the edge in the stand up. Can anyone really picture Kenny knocking someone out with a punch? This fight is pay per view worthy…. Great main event for a fight night.
yougoogolizer, one that speaks a funerals. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an after funeral party to attend
If Kenny dispences of Din early and with ease I think he gets title shot. IMO even before Stevenson!
Its crazy to see how much hes changed since being on the Ultimate Fighter 1. I remember just watching and laughing as Diego manhandled him in the Octagon and now i think people like kenny more than diego. If Sherk doesnt lose his title it will be BJ and Sherk. then i think the winner of this kenny/din fight should fight the winner of thiago/griffin. then the winner of that fight should fight Stevenson, and by that time we’ll be set for another lightweight title shot! GO THIAGO!!! YOU KNOW YOU LOVE IT KELLY!!!!!!!

Ha ha, I’m glad someone got that.

All I can say is rent Zoolander sometime.
I’ve always thought kenflo was a type of toothpaste or air fliter
I hope Din Thomas beats him. Hard.

I see it the same. Dont get me wrong, I like Din Thomas as a fighter & would pick him against most opponents but I just think that Ken-Flo is a better overall fighter but not by much. This has fight of the night written all over it though.
Kenny the killer florian. i like it. start making the shirts.

Same Here.

He could be Ben Stiller’s brother…almost his twin. Although, I do think that he’d kick the crap out of Stiller.
I really think Kenny is underated as a fighter. He has improved is game, especially in the GNP area, and his training camp as done wonders with his take down and scramble techniques. Din is going to be hard pressed to kill keeny, you bastards

WHAT, he didn’t run away from Sherk. He did much better against Sherk than Franca did. Then Florian desrtroyed Alvin the kid Robinson who looked like he outweighed KenFlo by like 25 lbs and he was shredded. But my boy Kenny The Nerd Florian took care of business and had the fool damn near unconscous.

But also keep in mind that TUF season 1 was for MW’s. That was 30 lbs over Kenny’s normal fighting weight, even back then. He literally just ate mad food to make wieght of 185.

He’s talking about this:

florian never throw a spectacular fight, even though i never seen him knocking somebody out in the ufc, just win by submission or decision. i hope he comes out new and improved not the same old florian. i wanna see him stand up and box. but i’d rather want din to win this one but they’re both still underated though.
all of the 55 r’s fight with that type of intensity except for the champion sherk. huerta, garcia, lauzon, penn, griffin, guillard, florian all fight to finish the fight rather than plan out a 5 round lay & pray
Grabbing the cage is DEFINITELY ‘killing’ someone.
It’s strange… When Kenny fought Sherk he seemed to be outmatched strength-wise, It was almost as if Sherk was… I dunno, “training” a bit harder? Perhaps he was eating more spinach, yeah thats got to be it!
Remember KIDS… Winners don’t use drugs…

Rofl, so Sherk has been sprayed his entire career now right?
Kenny doesnt have the speed to take on someone that is dramatically stronger then him… like Din’s speed (least IMO.)
This guy is an idiot. Its a competition. You are trying to attack your opponent, yes, but all competition has an offense and a defense. Ken-flo, you’re an ass.
THis is one of those fights that I really could careless about. Neither one could/will beat BJ. I wanna see cory hill sometime soon. Thats what I am talkn bout dawg.

Now that was funny, take that and a clip of the jump kick that sean salmon tried to pull off against rashad and you have the beginning of a great UFC bloopers video!
Ken flo is good very promising but not yet good enough to be Champ. but i think he wil win this fight.

Are you kidding me? His fights are NOT exciting??? The guy is an absolute machine. Balls to the wall the entire fight, man. Sure, he doesnt have the iron fist, but he’l definitely work you…hes definitely at the level of a Din.

And add the Ken Shamrock attempt at a kick against Rich Franklin
I say FLORIAN vs HUERTA!! Huerta should be fighting for the title!! 4 wins in 07.. No disrespect to Joe daddy” but Huerta is number 1 contender in my mind. He should fight in November vs B.J for vacant title.
I agree, Florian is one of the most exciting fighters to watch in th octogan, let alone in his weight division. I think foot2mouth must be confusing him with someone else (Zoolander maybe). I have plenty of respect for Florian, as with Karo and Diego who cares if it goes the distance there is always plenty of excellent MMA action. The only thing Florian lacks is strength and power, there is no doubt he has skill. Once he gets the strength and power behind him I doubt there will be hardly anyone who will be able to beat him. That is the only reason he lost to Sherk.
Whoops! Sorry foot2mouth I meant man-o-gore.

Huerta should at the very least be in contention though. Truthfully, what has Joe Daddy done to earn contention. I mean, who has he faced aside from Pellegrino? Unless I’m overlooking something, his opponents are on equal footing with Huerta’s. In my humble opinion the winner of Din Ken-Flo should be challenging BJ for the title if Sherk gets stripped.

Agree
here is a good idea, lets have an old school single elimination tournament for the title. There is so many quality fighters in the lightweight division and as a fighter (unless youre Randy Couture) you only have a few years at youre very best…I’d like to see Huerta with the gold, I like his tenacity.
