I personally would love to see Randy and Fedor go at it, I think it would be a great fight, Randy has shocked me more than once but Fedor is truely great. I would not want to pick a winner because they are both such great people I would not like to see either lose for different reasons but would love to see it.

Everbody knows UFC isn't a real challenge to Fedor, not even Couture or any other of the so called "best fighters in the world" is a real threat, Emelianenko is and will always be the best HW fighter, the best thing that happened to MMA since Rickson Gracie. Bodog just started and It's quite a shame PRIDE has gone so low, everyone is leaving like rats in a sinkin ship, everyone but Emelianenko. UFC is bullshit you all know it, Fedor knows it. nuff said

WOW Doug a lot of anger behind those comments. At this point in his career he is looking for flexibility. He is not a young fighter anymore looking for a start. Truthfully if he never fought again he would still go down as the greatest heavyweight of his time. Although I know you wouldn't agree with that because for some reason you have it in your head that the UFC heavyweights are the best in the world.

All I have to say is read my post above. It has a good quote by "Machine" in it.
Oh, sorry, that's just the way I talk (with a lot of profanity). I know it makes me sound angry if you don't know me personally and you're just reading text. Although I do find this ongoing Fedor drama a little tiring, I do believe that the UFC holds most of the world's greatest MMA HW fighters right now and Fedor would be better off finishing his career fighting amongst -- and winning against -- the best. He'll certainly be considered one of the, if not the, best HW MMA fighters of his time but to allow himself at his prime to just simply sputter out into retirement seems a bit unseemly to me.

At the end of the day, the UFC is a business, and negotiating is never an easy task when there are large sums of money involved. But negotiations can not go on forever, and no matter what, the UFC stands to lose less than Fedor if he does not sign. That's how I see it, so in the end, it is Fedor's loss to move elsewhere. I don't presume to know what's in the champ's head, but I would think that such a dominant fighter would want to continue his dominance. But what do I know?

I am an american, but I'm no jingo. I do not favor Randy Couture over Fedor due to nationalism. I'd just like to be witness to a huge MMA event because I think it would be cool as hell.
I am not sure if you will see this anymore but this statement I do agree with. I would love to see Fedor in the UFC. It would be an exciting time. If he fights Randy for the title in the next year that will be the greatest fight in MMA history. At least in my mind. Anyway good post.

anyone who thinks that randy can beat fedor is living in a fantasy. sure, anything can happen, lucky punch or kick here or there, but, lets consider the facts, who will win in a stand up, fedor or randy, not a contest, fedor beat cro cop standing, who will win on the ground, fedor has submitted so many guys, its almost funny. how many guys has randy submitted. only chance randy has of beating fedor is to get fedor on his back and keep him there and ground and pound him out. bhahahahahahah, does anyone really beleive that would happen, that fedor wouldn't get up. nobody here can be that stupid. randy beat a big doufas tim sylvia, who nothing but a big slow boxer. big freaking deal. he beat gonzaga, a guy who has only 7 fights, only big fight was with cro cop. who after losing to check congo, we can all now see, cro cop is not what he used to be. so really, what makes anyone think that randy can beat such a well round fighter as fedor. people, get real.

If he fights Randy, I think that Randy would win.

Its gonna be historic when Fedor eventually does lose or retire- for the past few years people have accepted him as the greatest Mixed Martial Artist alive without question. I think that Randy and Fedor deserve to fight each other for the Undisputed MMA World Championship. If Fedor wins, he will undoubtedly go down in history as the greatest fighter ever. If Randy wins, it will take MMA to an entirely new level.

Like I said though, I think that Randy would win, and I think that it will be better for the sport if he wins.
I'm getting tired of all this Fedor bullshit. I agree with so many others who say that if Fedor doesn't sign with the UFC, he's creating the possibility of being called a has-been for the rest of his career. The UFC holds the majority of the world's best HW MMA fighters, so if Fedor is fine with fighting a bunch of no-names, then just fighting a couple of big names over and over again, I say let him do it. In my opinion, from what we know, the UFC is being more than fair with the big man. If it were my money signing him, I sure as hell would want exclusivity, and for sure I wouldn't want him competing in Russian sambo tournaments where he could be badly injured. OR, I'd sign him with a contract that was LOADED with clauses that adjust his pay according to his performance and ability to fight throughout the term of his contract. So, basically, if he gets hurt or stops winning, that's it for the lion's share of his UFC paychecks. Then I'd let him make the decision of whether he wants to fight in those Russian sambo tournaments or not. Give the man choices and let him choose.

I know Fedor's probably the best HW out there, but everyone loses, and I would love to see the roof come down if Randy Couture were the man to deliver Fedor's first to him in an octagon on American soil. I can totally see that happening. If anyone can beat Fedor right now, it's Randy.

No one is indestructible. Fedor is great, but if he doesn't want to fight in the UFC, I say fuck him and let him go. No one can say the UFC didn't try their asses off. Just leave the door open. He may return later on, which would give the UFC a heck of a lot more negotiating leverage than they have now as such earnest suitors.

I’m getting tired of all this Fedor bullshit. I agree with so many others who say that if Fedor doesn’t sign with the UFC, he’s creating the possibility of being called a has-been for the rest of his career. The UFC holds the majority of the world’s best HW MMA fighters, so if Fedor is fine with fighting a bunch of no-names, then just fighting a couple of big names over and over again, I say let him do it. In my opinion, from what we know, the UFC is being more than fair with the big man. If it were my money signing him, I sure as hell would want exclusivity, and for sure I wouldn’t want him competing in Russian sambo tournaments where he could be badly injured. OR, I’d sign him with a contract that was LOADED with clauses that adjust his pay according to his performance and ability to fight throughout the term of his contract. So, basically, if he gets hurt or stops winning, that’s it for the lion’s share of his UFC paychecks. Then I’d let him make the decision of whether he wants to fight in those Russian sambo tournaments or not. Give the man choices and let him choose.

I know Fedor’s probably the best HW out there, but everyone loses, and I would love to see the roof come down if Randy Couture were the man to deliver Fedor’s first to him in an octagon on American soil. I can totally see that happening. If anyone can beat Fedor right now, it’s Randy.

No one is indestructible. Fedor is great, but if he doesn’t want to fight in the UFC, I say fuck him and let him go. No one can say the UFC didn’t try their asses off. Just leave the door open. He may return later on, which would give the UFC a heck of a lot more negotiating leverage than they have now as such earnest suitors.
WOW Doug a lot of anger behind those comments. At this point in his career he is looking for flexibility. He is not a young fighter anymore looking for a start. Truthfully if he never fought again he would still go down as the greatest heavyweight of his time. Although I know you wouldn’t agree with that because for some reason you have it in your head that the UFC heavyweights are the best in the world.
