“It’s just something I believe in and believe in strongly. I’m always going to do that. We ask our fans to buy a lot of pay-per-view and so I believe they deserve this. And I’m not going to be greedy and give them all of the good stuff on pay-per-view and put dog (expletive) on (basic cable) TV. I’m going to put our best guys on for them.”

– UFC President Dana White tells Yahoo!Sports that UFC 75: “Champion vs. Champion” that will air via tape delay at 9 p.m. this Saturday, September 8, is free on the Spike television network because the fans who purchase the pay-per-view (PPV) events deserve to see great fights at no cost.

Good to hear but you should have given us more than 4 fights on the main card (including the main event).

5 fights on the main card, that includes the main event. Its like that on all PPVs. Though I agree, I wish they would show more. I understand the Time limit, and the reason they show all the commercials, etc is because they have to prepare for the next fight, however they could atleast show highlights from the undercard bouts in between fights.

even still, it’s nice to feel some kind of kickback after dumping endless amounts of money into all those PPVs. For a free one, this is a pretty good card. Thanks Dana, for once.

Exactly..I can’t recall the last time we had 4 fights including the main. The standard is generally 5 fights on the PPV. Hey, it’s still great on Spike that’s for sure, but they should have kept it exactly the same as the other UFC cards.

I do appreciate this baecuase Dana did not have to give us this… This event woulda sold millions of pay per views even if it had to air at 2 pm. Good lookin out Dana, I hope he keeps this up, giving us a good event for free every once in a while. How is the UFC gonna use HBO, because I herd Dana wanted to have saturday’s event on HBO.

I like the highlights idea. Also, I still think that it would have been good to put the last PPV on free tv and use that as a tool to promote this event for PPV. I think that the last event was great. I enjoyed every single fight on it and I think that this PPV will be good as well. But I just think of the squandered opportunity to use the last even to hype this one.

DANA WHITE IS SO FULL OF SHIT! He makes it seem like hes giving us this on Spike for free because he loves his UFC fans. Thats such BS! Do you really think he would give us the first title unification belt ever in MMA free if he couldnt help it?? Here are the reasons that i believe the card is free…(some of these reasons were the same reasons some of his last events were free on spike)….
1. He messed up or a deal fell through with his PPV promoters in either London or the U.S.
2. The time difference ( people would have to get the event live in the daytime)
3. Dan Henderson not being well known from the UFC fans that just jumped on the UFC bandwagon afte the Ultimate Fighter 1. Plus the same fans that had never heard of Cro Cop and heard all this hype only to see him get laid out in the first round might think hes just another bullshit fighter..(idiots)

These are just a few reasons. I dont believe it one bit that CHEAP ASS Dana White is giving us the event for free cause he cares about his fans. He doesnt even care about his fighters (pays them like shit) let alone his fans

I just can’t get around the fact that Jackson and Henderson are boys. I don’t recall a time when two guys were pals as much as this case. I’d like to see how this affects the fight. I’m sure they’ll both bring it because their professionals but let’s see how it unfolds.

Have you noticed that there has been almost no talking leading up to this fight?

You won’t see any choke being held on for 2 extra seconds in this one that’s for sure. An extra couple hits after a knockout, they’ll probably skip that too.

It would be cool for us fans that buy every pay-per-view get to see a free event such as UFC 75 from time to time. Plus, since it’s on cable tv, it may attract many new fans. It’s a rare smart move by Dana.

Whenever a PPV comes to the UK I have to pay to see it. When its in America I watch it for free. Do you guys [Americans]have to payout money to watch WWE events in the UK? If you don’t then whatever stops them [WWE] from charging you is probaly what is stopping Dana from charging you. If you do still have to pay for WWE events when they are in the UK then you yanks should be greatful. As for me I’ll shell out the money as usually I don’t have to and I’ll be greatful for such a historical event taking place in my city.

Its refreshing to c 2 great fighters say nothing bad about each other, just go out n compete hard against each other while still
showing respect amd class.

Note to Tito Ortiz: We would rather c 2 good fighters, say nothing about each other, and than fight hard, Than to c Tito Talk all this personal shit to sell a fight, and then fight like a washed up bumb!

Tito, If you were the best in the world, like u say you r, u wouldnt have to talk trash to sell your fights, If you were good, your presence would b enough to sell the fight.

I would never pay to c Tito fight, unless it was against someone who I think will beat the living crap out of him

Ha ha ha I agree with that, but WWE is the greatest sitcom on TV. Its for kids who are too young to watch UFC. I just wanted to know if its some sort of rule to do with charging for events oversea’s hosted on the UK main land. WWE was the only other American sport (and I use that term while laughing in front of my PC) I could think of that comes here.

Yeah, I don’t quite buy this ‘for the fans’ crap. UFC is a business. They certainly wouldn’t do this unless in one way or another it benefited the UFC somehow, not the fans. I agree if this was in Vegas and not on tape delay, it would be PPV. He knows PPV buys will be way down because of the tape delay, and he learned from the Ireland show no one will buy it in the daytime, so really what other choice does he have than to put it on Spike and hopefully gain more mainstream exposure which will lead to higher PPV buys down the line and/or ideally show the major networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX what kind of viewer numbers they can achieve and hopefully strike a deal with them down the line, which I would imagine would be more lucrative than only PPV’s. If they were throwing away $40 million or whatever on these free shows without any chance to see a return on their investment, believe me they wouldn’t do it. There’s always an agenda and the reason is ALWAYS money. Good business decisions IMO, I just wish we weren’t fed this BS that its all for the fans. No one’s buying it, Dana!!!

I agree! DW and company keep saying all they want is the best fighters fighting in the UFC. If that’s all they truly cared about then they would have got Fedor already. I understand reasons and business decisions behind why they haven’t yet, but I’m tired of hearng them feed BS down our throats. They should just be honest and call it like it is. At the end of the day, its always about the money.

Apparently Dana white punished him but at the same time did him a favor. He released his contract to suspend him from the Ufc, if he were to suspend him under contract he wouldn’t be allowed to fight any were so he wouldn’t make any money, if this is true im deeply sorry. The UFC still have obligations to fulfill with SpikeTV, that’s why the show isn’t on PPV. Once UFC’s obligations are done you’ll see more PPVs.
It’s not a very exciting card, but, for free, it’s a good card.

Oh, I’m not saying that it’s going to be dull. I’m really interested in seeing Jackson vs Henderson. I’m only mildly curious about Bisping’s match, though. I remember the hype on Cro Cop and then saw him get KO’d, so I’m not hyped on it. The rest of the fighters I don’t know anything about.

Now thats an actual valid point and opinion. Kind of refreshing to hear. I thought you might go on a rant about how Dana dont know his a$$ from a hole in the ground and that this fighter sucks and that fighter sucks. Gotta admit i was surprised to see you write “The rest of the fighters I don’t know anything about.” Alot of posters wont admit that they dont know anything about certain fighters. So cool i deff understand your reason for not being to excited about the fight card.

The reason he’s doing this is because both Rampage and CroCop had contracts from previous orgs that included a cut of the PPV.

I can’t remeber for sure, but I believe that CroCop has only been on 1PPV.

Just look at this dude’s face, you think he’s gonna give you something for free?? I can’t believe that people up on this site are buying PPVs and then saying “Thank You Dana” when he throws around one of these. I don’t believe nothing when it comes to businesses like this. He sets you up with one of these to land you for another 10 PPVs and he then chills in his mansion and says “and they said thank you to me!!”
