There will always be racism in America.

But I’ll tell you this, my white ass was rooting for Rampage and jumped up out of my seat and started screaming instantly at the top of my lungs when the punch landed.

Rampage is the man.

Also, every single time Bisping talks there needs to be subtitles! Did he really say that while he was watching the Rampage/Liddell fight that he had a “sneaky beer”? lol

I was there at UFC 71 ringside. The entire arena gasped when Chuck went down. It was almost silent for a moment.

i dont know why someone has to bring up the race card. one great thing bout the ufc is the fact that, racially, its really diversed. like jackson said, ‘we all bleed red.’ for those that actually booed jackson because he was a black man that beat a white man for a title, you’re ignorant. i think the jackson-hendo fight should be a fight for the ages. even though i like jackson a lot, i truly feel that hendo has the upper edge on this one for a lot of reasons. but i just hope that jackson makes this upcoming a fight an exciting one.

Yeah he said he was “training” for his fight so he was sneaking a beer.

Is this really a story? We all know that as pathetic as racism is, it isn’t going away completely. Rampage is such a down to earth dude. I don’t see how anyone can hate on him.

I think I would have prefered to hear about his thoughts going into his Hendo fight since we are only a week out.

While not discounting the possibility or even probability of racism in a small number of fans, is there any possibility that maybe some people were booing because A) The fight was hyped for months and lasted all of two minutes; or B) Chuck was promoted as the face of the UFC and a guy (not a black guy, just a guy) who is relatively unknown to casual American MMA observers knocked him cold? Just a few possible alternative theories.

I don’t think the booing had anything to do with racism. Everyone here loves chuck and I’d be booing too if I witnessed Liddell go down like that.

Basically, the interviewer asks Rampage about some of the rascism issues that occured with his win against Liddell. Apparently there are some stories floating about some people that didn’t want to see the black guy win. Rampage says that he didn’t know about the stories, and hadn’t even considered the fact that there might be some racial tension when he was fighting. Then he says that they need to grow up, that we’re all the same regardless of race, we all bleed red, etc. That’s like the first half of the interview.

After that it’s the more of the same when it comes to Rampage interviews post-Liddell. They have short clip where Bisping talks about watching Rampage’s win in a bar with friends, and how people went crazy.

Overall it came out pretty classy interview, but nothing too noteworthy imo.

How can you boo a guy who knocked out the top dog? Would you be booing the winner or the loser? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

i think racism is a big trouble everywhere, also,of course in usa.i realy don’t car about the colour,i care only about the kind of fighter i was support chuck at that time, but i’m start to love rampage,is such a funny guy. but unfortunatly for him shogun and wanderlei are coming… ciao from italy. that racism talk is a buch of BS! the only reason why evrybody didn’t want rampage to win is because Chuck has been such a dominant figure in the ufc. I have never heard about fighters or ufc and it’s fans to be any bit racist AS A WHOLE.
He came over from Pride and most people wanted to prove that the UFC produces the best fighters….when Chuck took that shot people were upset. forget racism

Yeah I agree with carnage, stupid ufc fans who did not know about pride were booing beacause their overhyped champion just got KTFO and all they could come up with is booing. Very classless. I mean if a real asshole won the title, sure boo, but rampage is a class act now and has been for a number of years.

I really think rampage exaggerates the race thing, how does he know the whites weren’t just liddel fans? A racial thing? I doubt it, chuck is probably one of the most popular fighter’s out there, cool it with the race card thing rampage, I would like you more.

Because just like everyone else when chuck was champ i liked him and i still do. Unlike most. Go ahead hop on the band wagon cause it gonna be coming back around.

i don’t think racism has much to do with anything in the ufc. i mean you’ve got fighters from brazil, russia, england, usa, canada, france and wherever.no matter where a person is from if they’re good fighters they want to be in the ufc and we want to see them.GSP is french canadian but to me he’s just a great canadian fighter.i’m canadian in a bilingual province but i only speak english.i think gsp is great and we haven’t seen his best yet,but i don’t hate matt serra. how many fight fans are anxious to see fedor come to the ufc? alot! why ? most of us fans of mma just want to see the best fights possible.i’m a big fan of gsp but i’m a big fan of randy couture and my all time favorite is wanderlei silva.than again i like fedor and minotauro.point being,i just love the fight game and i want to see the best fights possible! it’s not a race or color game,it’s all about the fights eh!

Its Dana Whites fault, he shouldn’t have allowed them (Rampage and Chuck) to fight so early, not enough UFC fans have seen his PRIDE fights so with only one fight in the UFC they didn’t really get a chance to know and like Rampage.

It’s a shame, i think that Hendo will probably beat him and then maybe the UFC only fans never get that chance.

But i still think he’s brilliant for the sport, and still has years left in him which is great.

I have a ton of respect for Rampage and am not a racist person at all. Chuck Liddell is now and will always be my favorite fighter so i was upset and disappointed. That being said, I think with Rampage being with Juanito and having a trainer that will keep him on point I don’t think anyone will touch him. He’s just getting into his prime where physical prowess meets experience and with one of the best trainers in the world he has so many tools that I think he will go on to be one of the best LHW’s ever. I know Hendo is the man but he is so much smaller than Rampage I just can’t see a single thing he has on rampage that gives him a clear advantage. Rampage’s strength will neutralize hendo’s wrestling and although hendo dropped a sick wandi the only time rampage has been dropped is by chute boxe knees and that is not something hendo has in his arsenal.

war rampage
