I find it hard to believe Randy Couture is not on steroids he has all the signs of steroids abuse. I bet Randy is just good at cleaning his system before a drug test. It is hard to hit home runs like Barry Bonds does at his age, Randy is 44 and holds that much well defined muscle plus fights guys half his age! The huge jaw, baldness, and rounded muscles at age 44- either Randy has abnormally high testosterone levels that miraculously never declined with age or he takes steroids. 99% sure it is the latter
All the signs of steroid abuse,WHAT? Tito and Jay Lenno have huge jaws( they must be juice freaks),or maybe it's genetics. Baldness is genetic, and if you are predisposed to it, your losing you're hair ,with or without steroids (steroids will make it fall out FAST) Randy lost his hair SLOWLY. Most 44 year olds sit on the couch with a beer in their hand, no doubt they lack rounded muscles. Intense training grately increases testosterone levels and HGH. Randy's build is NOWHERE out of the ordinary for a guy who is a natural messomorph with a clean, hard training lifestyle( yes even at 44). The guys who abuse steroids ,fall apart before they are 44 and wouldn't be able to be a champion at that age. Do you think Randy would have the cardio he has, with the damage the juice does to your heart? Bitch tits, distended gut(enlarged organs) and shoulders falling out of place easily (because of the weakened conective tissue) like Josh Barnett are signs of steroid abuse. Randy suffers from none of these. I'm 99% sure THE NATUAL doesn't do steroids. Of course there is a chance that he does, but I can't see a man of his integrity wanting to win by cheating, or destroy his legacy. Alot of people talk like 40ish is over the hill in this sport and I might have believed them if 3 (Couture,Liddel,Henderson) of the oldest guys didn't know more about championships and BELTS than any of the 20 year olds.
As long as Dana keep protecting fighters like he does you will continue to see big mismatches like that.
But with Spike TV and now HBO we shouldnt have to pay $40 to see it.
Sorry to get off topic, but does anyone have any info on how the UFC will be used by HBO. I heard that the deal was in place, but I would like to know what they will do with it.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know!
Has the deal been signed officially?

When the deal is in place, from what I understand John is that they will have fighters progress like this.

TUF is for the newcomers that are willing to be on a reality show.

Ultimate Fight Nights are the bottom of the barrell events of the UFC, and it will continue to stay that way. This is where you will see a lot of fighters from TUF as well as UFC newcomers.

Then as some of those fighters win fights, they would progress to fight on UFC's HBO events. These would have bigger names than on Ultimate Fight Nights, but not Pay Per View quality. For example, you'll never see Randy fight on HBO.

The UFC PPV's will continue to be the top MMA events. We all know what a UFC PPV is like.

So with this HBO deal in place, there is a sort of progression that the fighters will take in order to make it onto the PPV. This makes me happy because I can't stand paying money to see the likes of Alberto Crane fight in the octagon!

BLASPHEMY!!!!

Randy Couture looks the way he does at his age because of the way he TRAINS. He out works and out hustles everyone at his gym and they are all half his age. Randy has more heart than anyone. If he ever gets to that point in a fight where he does start to tire a little bit (I don't know if this will ever happen...), his heart would kick right in and he would be able to keep up his furious pace.

"either Randy has abnormally high testosterone levels that miraculously never declined with age or he takes steroids. 99% sure it is the latter "

How are you able to come to this conclusion? Randy is the EXCEPTION, not the RULE. If every human being was the same in every aspect including genetics and DNA, we would be a bunch of cloned Lemmings running around planet earth. Most people on this earth are what is considered to be average. Then there is above average and below average. Randy is the most rare case of being extraordinary.

Keep in mind that Randy has only been fighting professionally for 10 years. He was strictly a GreccoRoman wrestler thru the age of 33. Can you imagine if Randy was training MMA from the time he was 20? Sure MMA didn't exist back then, but its just a theoretical question.
Testing doesn't mean shit! All of the Bodybuilders are tested-they just know how to clean their system before a test.
That is a good point there, the UFC needs random testing for all fighters year round. If you are under contract expect to be tested at random even if you are not fighting.
Testing doesn't mean shit! All of the Bodybuilders are tested-they just know how to clean their system before a test. I bet all of you think Ronnie Coleman is natural too! I took steroids for years and I know there muscle building potential. A real non steroid figher looks like Rocky Marciano or Muhammad Ali and not Jeff Monson or Randy Couture.
LOL I've seen MANY guys who a better built than randy couture who are very natural, I've never taken steroids myself and have been accused of it, some people have good genetic's and have that body builder look. The pro body builders obviously take steroids but these guys are 270 - 300lbs off season and are 5'8 to 5'10, there monsters, they would make Monson or couture look like a twigs standing next to them. Jay cutler and ronnie coleman are the top bodybuilders right now and these guys are freaking HUGE, randy on juice.....he sure doesn't look it to me and I doubt he's that stupid to risk ruining himself.
