GO RANDY!!!!
ps…. first response, Boo Yeah!
Randy’s taking the belt back to Vegas.
100% Natural..100% Champion
I wonder how much he’s weighing in at today.
Definitely looks good. Feel sorry for Gabe. Randy is going to whoop up on him.
yesterday on the show he said he walks around at 225lbs.
I can’t wait for tomorrow. An excellent card. Wish they would show the preliminary fights as well. It would make the 50.00 pay per view more worth it, but I’m not going to miss this main event.

Gonzaga will dominate Randy
Couture is looking amazing!!! If anyone saw the UFC 74 Countdown show and the UFC All Access show will know that Randy is in the best shape of his life and is gonna lay the smackdown on Gonzaga at UFC 74.
I want to see Randy win, and I am 80% sure he will. But I am scared that it’ll be another shocking result!!
GO RANDY!!! I just like this guy to much to go against him!
dude, neither one of these guys should be heavily favored in this fight. The one who shows up most prepared will take the belt home. I want Couture to win cuz I love that mofo and I know that Gonzaga will eventually wear the belt in the upcoming years. I think if Couture wins, a lot of that victory will be based on Gonzaga’s inexperience in a HUGE nationally televised main event. If Couture can hit him a couple times and build huge momentum in the 1st and 2nd round, then that should carry over for a 5 round decision in his favor, I guess…….;)
I’m tired of all the hyping up of the fight they should of fought on espn the one time they was on together. That would of been the sh^t.
yesterday on the show he said he walks around at 225lbs.
Yeah, that’s what he said, “give or take a pound”. He also said that he has been training with a lot of bigger guys, one of which is Forrest Griffin. Randy said that Forrest is now walking around up over 240! That is ridiculous! What is Forrest thinking. He has to weigh no more than 206 lbs come the weigh-ins on September 21st. He now has 4 weeks to cut 35 lbs entering the most dangerous fighter he will ever face in his life. If I were him, I would make sure I was staying at no more than 220 while training. If he has to cut all that weight in a short period of time he has a better possiblity of dying in the octagon from the hands and knees of Shogun than he does actually winning the fight.
Definitely looks good. Feel sorry for Gabe. Randy is going to whoop up on him.
If there is one chink in Couture’s armor, it is fighting big strong BJJ fighters. Barnett and Rodriguez gave Randy fits. Gabe is a bigger stronger version of both of those fighters.
I think people believe too much into the myth of Randy Couture. Randy always wins when he can control someone. Randy could not control Josh Barnett or Ricco. If anyone here thinks Randy can control Gabe like he did Timmy, then you need your head checked.
Randy’s win over Tim Sylvia was unbelievable. And will live on people’s memory’s for a long time…… or until Saturday night when Gonzaga finishes “The Natural”
Randy’s going to stuff Gonzaga’s head up his ass
Just to note.
Even though Gsbe is 4-0 in the UFc he has not fought in the Main Event/ Title fight till now. The first time jirters might be there..the press, the waiting..he has not gone thru that yet..Randy is going into his 15th UFC Title fight on Saturday..that is where the Natural has the edge..If he can offset Gabes plan..get him on his back ( where Gabe doesn’t mind being ) but fustrate him..and grind him out..Gabe may be a victim of the legend in the later rounds..Gabe doesn’t throw alot of combos..just tries those one shot knock punch or kick..but if he takes one foot off the ground Randy will have him on his back..like they say..” Its not always the best fighter who wins..but who fights the best. “
Just to note.
Even though Gabe is 4-0 in the UFc..he had not fought in the Main Event/ Title Match ever..the first time jirters may be there..the press..the waiting..that all plays a part on your performance. Randy is going into his 15th UFC title fight..15th!!!!!! This is where Randy has the edge..If he can from the opening bell..offset Gabes plan and get him on his Back ( where Gabe doesn’t mind being..BJJ )..and fustrate him.grind him out..Gabe may fall victim to the legend in the later rounds..You like they say.. ” It’s not always the best fighter that wins, but the fighter who fights the best. “
Ok, Gonzaga has one head kick victory over Cro Cop (impressive), and essentially some BJJ clinic over a useless Marrero (expected), and other than that he is still the guy that had to superman punch Kevin Jordan in the last seconds of a fight to even stay in the UFC. Say what you want about hype for Couture, (Rogan has lost his bloody mind on the preview shows what with his making it sound like GSP was so humiliated by Serra that his knuts fell off in the ring and with his equally preposterous claim that Gonzaga is going to dominate all heavyweights no questions asked) but Gonzaga’s hype is way more annoying. They do this every time. How about Marquardt vs. Silva, oooooh, Marquardt, he’s well rounded, he is a favorite says a bunch of idiots. Oh, and now his face is stuck to the mat in the Octagon from a straight right. Good call guys. The bottom line is Randy is not going to get submitted and I don’t believe Gonzaga is even close to the kind of wrestler Randy is. Randy will do what he did to Sylvia. The only difference being that he will have to watch for submissions more, but on the upside he wont have those ridiculously long limbs and length to keep him from dropping bombs from the guard. Couture says he is way better than he was when he lost to Barnett and Rodriguez, and I believe him, I think he proved it against Sylvia. I think he will prove it again.
Couture by TKO/KO in the fourth.
Word.
Sorry guys …I see Randy down and this stupid ‘ELBOW rules’ will make damage on him (you remember CC case). That is Gabe’s main weapon aggressiveness.
Aw Frizz, why do you want to go there. Well atleast you are historically correct but I don’t know if you can call Randy a myth. Perhaps you mean Randy Couture’s legacy or legend. Randy’s battles, wins and losses were not “myths”.
You are saying that Randy can’t evole as a figher or hasn’t changed much or didn’t learn anything from those losses. I disagree.
Speaking of chinks in the armor The following are Gonzagas:
Never fought in championship bout before
Never defeated a wrestler especially one like Couture
Conditioning will not match up to Couture
Most of his opponents were cans Mirko and Verdum only exceptions
Never been tested past 3 rounds
Since you like history, Gonzaga’s history isn’t that noteworthy. Perhaps this is the reason why people believe in the “myth” called Couture.

..I agree..now with Ricco/Josh..I think he was trying to play that BJJ game..and that is not him..he has learned from the past..100% Natural
If there are any holes in Gonzaga’s game, which I am sure there are, then Randy will find them and exploit them. I predict both will come out of the gates strong, but as the fight goes on, and Randy continually frustrates Gonzaga, Gonzaga will fade.
Couture, either by decision or TKO in a later round.

WOW this is exactly what I was thinkin. 100% agree Randy is going to tko Gabe late 4rd. Goin to be a war. A war That Randy is so well prepared for. THat belt is staying in Vegas Baby!
Barnett was juicing when he beat Randy too. Go RC!!!
Gabe best have brought his cardio game up, cuz their is the potential for a long 5 round war. If it gets to that, and Gabe isn’t prepared, cardio will be Randy’s key to victory.

You poor poor b*stards! I love Randy too but come on guys, Randy will be retired next week and I wont say I told ya so but you will know you were WAY wrong about Gonzaga…
after this week you will be like “Gabe has one submission over randy, one knockout over crocop, but thats all and he still aint Sh*t. Or you’ll be like ” Gabe was the Sh*t all along”….

..Yo do you know Randy recently fought Jacare in a submission match only..to a draw.. JACARE..Mundial Champion…ADCC Champion.
My point is not about Gabe..it’s about Randy..He will not get caught in his 15th UFC title defense by a submission..maybe Ko or GnP..He seen the tapes he knows what his up against and the tempo the match will be fought in..can Gonzaga match him and push a fight that Randy is stirring??? Let the best man tomorrow nite win..My pride is wit Gonzaga..( CARIOCAS )..my love for the sport of MMA..I’m rooting for Randy.
People are making a little too much of gabe’s 20 pounds he has on randy, I bet half of that is fat, hardly a big advantage. Randy has handled much better build guys than gabe, don’t know where all this is coming from.

I agree,he trains with guys who are on gabe’s level of bjj and strenght, but Gabe dosen’t have anybody close to train with to the level of randys wrestling,or gameplanning.
I predict Randy to win by desicion,I think Gonzaga is gonna be way over confident coming into this fight and he is gonna be shocked when he realises how strong and athletic Randy is.
20 lbs is nothing against a guy who has skill to compensate. just look at Sylvia-Couture.
and now, we all got to see Randy whip that ass!
