ufc 74 weigh in
The crop of 18 fighters for UFC 74: “Respect” have all weighed-in for the pay-per-view (PPV) event tomorrow evening from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was not incident-free, however.

Middleweight Thales Leites tipped the scales at 188 pounds — three pounds over the 185-division limit. He has two hours to lose two pounds to reach the 186 threshold (one pound over the limit in non-title fights).

Update: Leites shed the two pounds within the two-hour limit and is set to battle Jensen tomorrow night.

Not surprisingly, Josh Koscheck receive less than a warm welcome when he approached the podium. On the other hand, his opponent Georges St. Pierre was showered with praise.

Kendall Grove and Patrick Cote got into some very close, head-rubbing trash talking, while light heavyweights Renato “Babalu” Sobral and David Heath seemed to have a few choice words for one another, too.

Here are the official results:

Hvywt.: Randy Couture (228.5) vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (252)
170 lbs.: Georges St. Pierre (170) vs. Josh Koscheck (170)
155 lbs.: Joe Stevenson (155) vs. Kurt Pellegrino (155)
185 lbs.: Kendall Grove (184) vs. Patrick Cote (184.5)
155 lbs.: Roger Huerta (155) vs. Alberto Crane (155)
205 lbs.: Renato “Babalu” Sobral (204) vs. David Heath (205)
Hvywt.: Frank Mir (255) vs. Antoni Hardonk (244)
185 lbs.: Thales Leites (188) vs. Ryan Jensen (185)
155 lbs.: Marcus Aurelio (155) vs. Clay Guida (155)

UFC 74 takes place tomorrow, August 25, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The televised portion of the pay-per-view (PPV) event begins at 10 p.m. EST.

Quick results will begin to flow earlier than that here at UFCmania.com at about 8 p.m. ET with the undercard action. We’ll also be live blogging the PPV event, providing round-by-round coverage of the main card fights.

Remember to also check out our pre- and post-fight coverage with our online radio call-in program, “Any Given Saturday,” tomorrow night from 9-10 p.m ET with our guest, Frank Trigg.

See you all then.

I thought it was kind of funny how badly kos got booed, I don’t think I heard ANY cheering in the crowd, doesn’t this guy have any friends. Not surprised randy and gsp got the best welcome, there both class acts and respectful, carma’s a bitch eh koscheck.

Man did gsp look skinny, must have lost a lot of water to make weight, he looked much buffer just recently, hope he gains it all back before the fight. Randy looked great, never saw him look so muscular, he look’s to be in the shape of his life, he’ll need it against gabe though, guys and animal.

Thales Leites (188) didn’t make weight, since its an undercard I am assuming this fight will go on!

Quick question: Has any UFC fight night live come out on DVD?
If not how else can I watch the prelims wit out going to c it live, because this upcomming fightnights prelims look better then the fights being broadcasted!

It’s like it wont even broadcast a fighter for UFN unless he has been on TUF!

and When did they announce loyota Machida vs. Nakamura at ufc 76?

Philqny, Violentmike,UFC Mania, or if anyone else can answer some of these questions please do so.

Speculations are circulating that either alberto Crane or Batman Pellegrino will pull off an upset tomorrow night.

I think Crane would have a better shot at an upset, What do u guys think?

Look for Heath to pull off an upset, I dunno if Babalu will ever look like the Babalu of old again! If he looses this fight u might as well put a fork in him.

If I had to guarentee a win tomorrow night, I would go wit Kendall Grove.

Whats the biggest guarentee in your opinions about tomorrow night

Wow, that David Heath hates everybody. I’m surprised he didn’t smack Dana White’s sister. Unless you meant that Grove got into it with Patrick Cote.

Randy Couture looks like he’s in amazing condition.
I really hope he wins, I can’t stand Gonzaga, and i’m tired of watching vids of his “kick”, he’s a good fighter im sure but he better work hard to prove that kick wasn’t luck.

RC is 228 with mayb 3 lbs of that being fat. So much for making 205 ever again. Sheesh, if Gonzaga was that ripped he might be 228 also.
