This is a very interesting fight and a tough test for Karo Parisyan. Although Sakuri is fighting in the UFC for the first time since UFC 36 he is in no way a walkthrough. It's difficult to say who will win this fight, Sakuri is a world class seasoned veterin and Karo is a younger bigger fighter. People often forget that Sakuri fought @ 160 in the PRIDE FC. If this fight goes all 3 rounds give the advantage to Parisyan, but is Sakuri can push the pace he has a good shot @ winning the fight. But setting the pace against shuch a dynamic Judo practition like Karo Parisyan is no easy task. I am going to take Parisyan in this fight, but look for Sakuri to make noise in the lightweight division aswell as the welterweight division.

I've never seen Karo in a boring fight or even an AVERAGE fight, his Judo always makes him one of the most exciting fighters in MMA. Sure, he doesn't finish fights as often as some, but who cares? I would rather see a grappling war than see someone get knocked out. It seems like people only want to see knockouts nowadays which gets kinda old occasionally.

I believe it was Karo that was supposed to face Matt Hughes back at UFC 56, but pulled out due to injury and Joe Riggs took his place. I bet Nate Quarry felt like someone could've taken his place that night, now looking in retrospect.

Karo can be an ass at times when he opens his mouth, but there is no disputing his skill in the Ocotgan. And if he ever did get to fight Hughes at some point and Hughes wanted to stand up and trade with him, going by his performance against Burkman,I think Karo would knock him out. That was an excellent display he put on. Not only does he have an excellent ground game and stand up, the guy can really take a punch. I'm not to bothered about him finishing a fight when the action has always been that good. When he first fought GSP, GSP said that that was the hardest fight he'd ever been in, Karo was so unpredictable with his submission attempts. Kara has improved a hell of lot since those days. He just needs to sort out his cardio, and stop believing the sun shines out of his backside. He is definately one of my favourite fighters to watch inside the Octogan.
"Karo is suspect at best. Since his TUF power trip I have lost all respect. I hope he gets steam rolled"

How is he "suspect"? Any fight he's lost has been very close. Have you ever seen the guy get his as beat? No. How can you lose "all" respect for someone over a "power trip" on a reality TV show? I'd hate to be on your shit list.

Although it was the best fight of the year, I'd say that Karo got his ASS KICKED against Diego.
i agree, i scored that fight 29 - 27 diego and that is an understatement of that ownage diego put on him, he kneed his damn tooth out of his jaw, look at karos busted up face afterwards. total domination.

Isn't Sakurai a judo practitioner also? Probably not at Karo's level, but Karo's weird skill set may not be so unfamiliar to Sakurai.

Don't get me wrong. I HATE Karo. He actually could easily be the fighter that I hate the most in MMA. But I give respect where respect is due. Karo is a serious competitor who brings it every time he steps into the octagon. But for some reason, he has an easy time dominating fights, but has a hard time finishing them.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
I'll pile on this one. I wouldn't say I hate him but he was very dick-like on the TUF show. He deserves a title shot after this Matt/Matt//GSP/Kos king of the cage tournament is over. I don't care whether he wins or loses then. Just give him his shot.
