I dont care who the LW champ is, unless we c Gomi vs. Penn II fought inside the octagon of the UFC. The winner would be the real LW champ of the world.
Actually since Nick Diaz beat Gomi, (I STILL don't understand why it wasn't a title fight???), he should be considered the current PRIDE LW champion.

Foreman is a class act. Very comical guy to see interviewed and I've not seen him dis anyone on camera. Comments like his about the world of MMA and UFC are what's needed, not a load of bulls**t from stupid boxers who know nothing about the sport, not mentioning any names FLOYD the mardy little prick, just cos they KNOW they'd be OWNED 100% if they had the balls to get in with an MMA guy instead of talking shite.

Foreman vs. Kimbo
Foreman has to do better then ray mercer did

Does anyone think we will ever c KIMBO in the UFC. He is a novice at the sport, and far from being ready for the UFC at this point in his life. However, I hear Bas Rutten has been training Kimbo, a year or 2 wit Bas n who knows what kind of fighter he can become. Who wasn't surprised to c him beat mercer via guillatin?

Note: This is a far fetched scenario but possible, because unlike other "freakshow" fighters like Bob Sapp who weighs 300 lbs. Kimbo weighs 260 lbs, and could easily be within the weight limit to fight in the UFC heavyweight division.

It is absolutly great to here this from a boxing legend like Foreman, all the boxers that have nothing good to say about MMA now their opinions are insignificant, they will just have to accept MMA is the best combat sport in the world and will stay that way from now untill the end of time.

Michaelthebox: You made some accurate points that make a lot of sence. I wrote that post as soon as I found out the news and was so pissed. When u break it down and talk about Value, u r absolutely correct, Japan cannot afford to loose him and it isnt in the UFC best interest to get in a bidding war with them especially since we got bigger fish to Fry(FEDOR)

[...] Not All Boxers hate MMA! "I love the UFC. I love it. If they had had that back when I was coming up, in 1966, it would have been my sport. Man, I love it. And you know what? Nobody would have pulled the rope-a-dope on me." — Professional boxing legend and former champion George Foreman tells Yahoo!Sports.com that he enjoys watching the UFC and has respect for 44-year-old heavyweight champion Randy Couture. Foreman came out of retirement in 1994 at age 45 to knockout Michael Moorer in round 10 to reclaim the title that he first won way back in 1973 against Joe Frazier.
Sorry to get off topic, but has anyone noticed that we lost Takanori Gomi to Hero's. Proves once again Dana is a tool. He let an unquestionable top 3 Lightweight fighter sign with another company. I dont care if Gomi wanted to stay in Japan. Everybody has got a price n once again White is to cheap to dig in his pockets to get it done.
It'd be very hard and expensive to get Gomi. K-1 is based in Japan, where Gomi is a star. In America, Gomi is a nobody. The only fight Americans have seen is Gomi vs Diaz, if that. In order to get him to fight in a foreign country where he's unknown instead of a promotion based in his own country where all his fans are, it'd probably cost UFC a ton of money.

That ends up being negative on two fronts. One, it'd be a disproportionately large salary compared to what the other top UFC fighters are getting paid, and they would rightfully be upset about it. Two, the UFC would probably end up paying more moeny to hire Gomi than Gomi makes in revenue for the UFC.

It sounds strange to say this about a top fighter, but he just isn't worth it. It's a free market, and Gomi is getting an offer from K-1 that the UFC simply cannot compete with.
