Kos doesnt sound too confident in this video.

“Depends on which Koscheck is going to show up”

Sounds unsure of himself– or maybe its just an excuse if he loses.

If GSP loses, he will still be my favorite fighter. I’m sure a few have already left since his Serra loss. Trust me, he will get to the top again. His skill level is just too strong to not get him there again. A former manager can say whatever he wants, but he’s just hating.

I really cant see a mentaly tough, young, but seasoned world class fighter like GSP loose two in a row, especially at the hands of Josh Koschek. Sure Rich Franklin and Arlovski were “unstoppable”, then loss and have suffered mental breakdowns which have prevented them from fighting the dominate way they are accustomed to fighting. RF and AA lost to good fighters that were on the same level as they were(sylvia, silva). GSP on the other hand lost to a lesser opponent which some people consider a “fluke”, which is much harder to overcome then the rf aa situations.

My point being If GSP is on top of his game, which I expect, and predict that he will be, he will not only beat Kos, he will also finish him. TKO style

BandwagonbandwagonbandwagonbandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagonBandwagon. you tired of seeing Bandwagon yet cuz i know i am. My point is this most Fans have more than one fighter they like. Now while there screename may not reflect that believe me its true. So when a fighter you like is gonna fight a fighter you dont like(or just gonna be fighting in general) and it happens to be a topic on a Blog your subscribed to. you will probably express your opinion on the fight and how you see it going or whatever you feel like putting down at the time. But damn i know its like all of these people all of the sudden are GSP fans now where did they all come from its gotta be this Bandwagon theory ive been hearing so much about. Its a simple concept. Lots of people like GSP who just so happens to be Fighting a fighter that is (controversial shall we say for lack of a better word) in the near future. Since its a good MMA topic it happens to be on a blog on well known Website. Now all the GSP fans of that blog subscription see the topic and voice their opinions. Then there has to be the guy that starts the Bandwagon deal up. Very rarely is there a Bandwagon problem its just simply fans that like GSP more than Kos or Fans that have liked GSP. So get off the bandwagon of Saying Bandwagon all the time.

If koscheck wins by a decision, I’ll NEVER make another comment on this site again, hold me to it, I don’t care thats how certain I am gsp wins this one, if he loses its a lucky punch, no other way. You have to admit that Kos is an amazingly athletic person. My only hope is that when (not if) GSP pushes him to his limit, his “fright” response takes over and we get to see that athleticism in full effect.

I don’t blame him, it’s like a Heavyweight title contender watching a seemingly unstoppable Fedor get upset by a very beatable Tim Silvia, and then finding out that instead of a title match with Silvia, you get to face a pissed-off and motivated Fedor in his first comeback match.

He said he could beat Serra! When he said that he looked absolutely sure as if it could happen on any given day.

When it came to GSP his tone and body language sank and he said “it depends which Koscheck shows up”, lets hope its not the Koscheck in that video because he looks scared shitless.

Seems to me he is not totally convinced he can do it, however nerves can be a good thing. However I think he is going to be even more timid in this fight than the Diego fight worried about GSP’s abilities. GSP on the other hand is never hesitant he moves in for the kill no dancing.

Hopefully everyone saying Serra got a lucky shot will motivate him to train even harder for the Hughes fight.

Koscheck is actually looking forward to a fight with Serra for the title? So he’s counting out both GSP against himself, and Hughes against Serra in December. I’m sorry but this guy is gonna have his work cut out for him. If he manages to get past GSP (unlikely) then he’s ultimately going to end up facing Matt Hughes further down the line. Matt Hughes is a more experienced version of Koscheck with a much wider skill base. In my honest opinion I feel that GSP can beat them all when he’s on his A-Game, anyone who disagrees with this should watch GSP’s fights with Trigg, Sherk, and Hughes.

So you’re inferring that KOS can handle GSP? Do you think that KOS has a better chance at beating GSP than Fitch? KOS and Fitch are training partners, and would never fight each other, but if they did, who do you think would win? I personally think that Fitch would win via submission or GnP.

What does koscheck have on gsp? nothing….in an mma sense, this is NOT a college wrestling match on a mat, its a fight in a cage. St.Pierre is athletic, fast and a good wrester like koscheck but he’s superior in strength, submissions and striking, how is he going to win a 3 round decision? If Kos and Serra both win (or both loose), then we might even be able to see Hughes vs Koscheck down the line. That would be a phenomenal wrestling match, which Matt will find out that he is no longer the best wrestler in the division. Koscheck’s wrestling is far better than Matt’s, and after that fight with Diego, Id say Kos is the better striker as well.

Koscheck is 4 time all American and 42-0 back in his college days. Definitely the best wrestler (if not the most decorated) in the UFC.

Here’s the thing about KOS. He knows he can’t handle George and he is being very smart moving into this fight. Kos will be a handful but he is not in GSPS’ world yet. george will knock Kos out in the latter part of round 2.

cheers,

Jason,

GSP will handel Josh. Watch GSPs’ scraps. He is a very bad man and he will dominate this guy. Kos will not be able to shoot on him, george is way too strong. George will win via TKO in round 2 and that is it. If he does not win this way, he will win by submission in the same round. Kos is not ready for George. George is an animal.

A true fighter would have wanted GSP to win so he can face the overall better fighter. With Kos saying “oh yes, Serra won, that is great for me” just shows how weak he really is. All that political talk about fighting GSP etc. doesn’t cover it up. Kos is scared and not confident in himself. I truly think deep down inside he just wants to show a strong performance while thinking that a loss is forthcoming.

The best basketball players wanted to cover Jordan all the time. Kos is the type that would have played for a couple minutes, fouled him and thought they are on the same level because he didn’t score on that play.

hey, styles make fights so lets examine their styles.

1. gsp has done very well against wrestlers in the past. look at his fights against matt hughes(wrestler), frank trigg(wrestler), sean sherk(wrestler), jay hieron(wrestler), dave strasser(wrestler)

2. kos has fought many different styles of fighters with success and shows he can implement gameplans well.

3. kos is a high level purple belt in bjj, and training with dave camarillo has given him better judo trips in addition to his wrestling.

4. gsp is a very good brown belt in bjj, he also trains with the olypic wrestlers so he also has very good wrestling.

in my opinion the fight should go somewhat like this:

rd.1 they start out feeling each other out, gsp lands some solid strikes to koscheck. kos still wants to try striking, but more punches and maybe some body kicks make kos begin to set up some shots. halfway through the round kos scores a takedown and ends up in gsps full guard, he stays busy enough to avoid the standup but does no dmg.

rd2. gsp comes out careful, they exchange for another 2 or 3 minutes then kos goes in for a shot and gsp sprawls, kos drives him against the fence and after another minute kos takes him down he pounds away more actively than before, but no real damage. they standup with about a minute left and exchange a little bit more, gsp being wary of the takedown. kos showing good standup.

rd3. kos comes out confident but evasive, he is losing the standup but not by much, he knows he won the first two rounds so he is more defensive, very evasive. gsp is gaining confidence and with about 3 mins left lands some good leg kicks and some knees in the clinch. kos is hurt, he shoots in but this time gsp sprawls and powers him onto his back, gsp is on top landing devastating ground and pound and the fight is stopped.

Kos’ comment about facing serra for an easy title are comical

id put him as a slight underdog against GSP…
will definitely stick some $$$$ on him if i can get odds of 5/1 or greater

if he does pull off the upset then he does deserve the title shot

problem for him is that serra is probably an even greater underdog against matt hughes than serra was against GSP

lightning wont strike twice… GSP was slipping all over the mat and serra landed a couple of lucky shots

hughes is going to pick serra up drop him into the floor and pound on him a bit then probably finish him with either the trapped arm punching the head like hee did BJ or some other kind of power submission on an arm

KOS’ chances of facing serra and getting an “easy” title are around 100/1

should be a great fight between KOS and GSP… shame its not on the london card so i could be within touching distance

GSP cannot win this because he just gets too nervous. It doesn’t matter that he beat BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan, Frank Trigg, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, and Sean Sherk. None of that even matters….cuz Kos is just so much better than all of them.
Yeah people….I’m kidding. Take everything I said and flip it.

If you are referring to GSP as average, I would disagree. first I don’t think GSP is just an average wrestler. He has proven to hold his own against some of the toughest wrestlers in his class and even defeated most of them. I think the only real advantage KOS…MAY POSSIBLY have is his physical strength. He has shown that in some of his past fights. I don’t think GSP is going to be beaten by being out wrestled.

Kos is a soperior wrestler howevever all around he is not in the same class as GSP. Serra is not in the same class either and does not deserve to hold that belt as he has not had enough tough wins to prove himself.

Way too much thinking here… GSP is not gonna wait for something to happen - he will take the action to KOS and make it happen. KOS will be the ultra conservative one looking for an opening that he can’t find. Remember GSP/Hughes II? GSP was all business and showed complete and utter dominance of Hughes. KOS is nowhere near the fighter Hughes is.

The thing is Kos is a superior wrestler only on paper, in an MMA fight GSP will have the better wrestling, mark my words. GSP will be the one taking kos down. How do I know this? because GSP can take ANYONE down.

i just think that kos has good enough wrestling to put gsp on his back a few times but there is a strong chance for the shot to be reversed, a la frank trigg, sean sherk.

and i think when it is reversed kos will have no answer for gsps ground and pound.

however i traind at American kickboxing academy from june 23 to august 10 and kos was in their soo much, every time i went in he was working the bags or the mitts, and he looked really fast and in shape, i think we will see a different kos in this fight, but my opinion is it wont be enough.

To be honest I don’t dislike koscheck and was rooting for him to upset diego and thought he might pull off a split or majority decision and was right, had no idea it would go down the way it did and thought kos would eke out a decision by his wrestling. I think diego and koschek are pretty close to 50/50 but diego definitely had a bad night. Kos has a lot of potential and is an athletic freak but gsp is just too much for his right now, everything his is and a lot more.

Kos indeed has a bright future but needs to really keep his mouth shut. I’m going to be champ…First of all try getting a resume like GSP first. I hope this kick get highlight reeled tomorrow night!
