Ive always liked Diego reguardless. He’s a great skilled fighter. Damn this is a hard fight to predict. Fitch to win is gonna have to KO Diego cuz i dont see him catching him in any Submissions. On paper Diego has the better looking resume with wins over better fighters than Fitch has fought. But that dont mean sh1t i know. Im cheering for my Boy diego but wont be heartbroken if he losses to Fitch cuz he’s got skills.
Fitch has mad skills too though. I used to dislike diego because he always said he was the best in the world, but who really cares, he’s an exciting fighter. I would either say Diego by knockout (knee) or Fitch by submission or stoppage.
If Diego fights like he did against Koschek, he doesn’t have a chance. I’ve only seen a couple of Fitch’s fights but he should give Diego all he can handle.
I definitely didn’t pick Sanchez to KO Riggs so anything can happen. Both guys need this win. Fitch has been unbeaten recently but- against weaker competition than Sanchez. Diego’s only loss to Koscheck was hardly a beat down but a second straight loss would really set him back.

I really look at this fight as going either way, depending on how Diego shows up. I think Diego is a weirdo and way too cocky, but he only crapped the bed in one fight. Some of you guys are acting like Fitch is fighting a can.
This is the ultimate test for Fitch, if he can’t make a strong showing against Sanchez, which is very unlikely that he will finish him, he will still wander in obscurity in the UFC ranks among the general audience. This will be a good fight.

I don’t know much about Fitch, but I am fan of Diego, and I have read a few of his interviews he seems pretty humble in those, not slagging anyone off and talking about how great he is. Fitch must be pretty good judging by the comments. It should be a good fight. Diego may be a little weird, but why would you want someone who puts on the performances he does, to retire. Did you not enjoy the Karo and Diaz fights. Unlike Sherk and quite a few others when Diego is at 100%, he definately gives you your moneys worth. May the best man win.
There is absolutely no way Diego will beat my man Fitch. Jon is way too strong for Diego and he will steamroll him just like he did to his last six opponents. Fitch will tear through Diego, win the welterweight title and probably hold onto it for the rest of his career.
I know that Diego already has beaten both Karo and Diaz — two fighters who command a lot of respect — but if Diego comes out and wins convincingly against Fitch, I’ll have a new perspective on him as a fighter. Until then, though, I have a hard time getting past the self-hype.
Let’s not forget that Sanchez had staph when he fought Koscheck. Of course, there’s always a “reason” why a guy loses (”I got caught” said The Iceman; “I had back problems” said The Maine-iac). But Sanchez with staph definitely took the snap out of his normal fight game.
Fitch is on a 13-fight winning streak, but he remains relatively unknown, at least to the casual fan. Fitch knows that beating Sanchez will put him on the map in a big way. At the same time, Sanchez can’t afford two losses in a row.
Gonna be interesting! Can’t wait. UFC has some great cards coming up.

Diego Sanchez sucks, the guys a huge egomaniac d-bag who has no respect for anyone. Listening to him in some of his interviews is embarrassing. The guy sucks period. He may be a good fighter, but when you listen to him and figure out who his character is, you just fuckin hate the guy and hope he gets knocked the fuck out and humilitated. I think Fitch is underrated and should have gotten a title shot or NO.1 contender shot by now. I hope Fitch destroys Sanchez.

I’d say Fitch’s style closely resembles Randy Couture’s. He is a dominant wrestler, very strong, gets his guys down and pounds on them. I’ve only seen one of his fights- against Carniero. As I recall he weathered a storm early on and came back and choked him out.
If you haven’t seen a guy fight, it’s hard to just take everyone’s word on how “tough” a guy is. I’d like to see Fitch and Koscheck wrestling each other in practice because they are two of the top four in the world at their weight (Hughes GSP).

Well he cant really pick and choose his fights. He probably in reality has very little say in who fights. He loses one fight by decision and then if he wins this one he will just be “half decent to jo blow on the street”. Thats one of the dumbest things ive read in awhile. He had an unbeaten record better than Fitch’s and he’s beaten better competition. Jon will be lucky to make it unbeaten as long as Diego did. Karo would beat Kos.
I think Diego took this fight because he is either a) underestimating Jon Fitch or 2) is completely dillusional. Actually, both may be true.
Diego will come out like a rabid dog but I guarantee Fitch will be expecting it. I think it will be exciting to see how he counters Diego’s aggression. I think we’re going to see some interesting things from Fitch in this fight.
I hope I hope Fitch can do it, I think a big disadvantage is gonna be his lack of expiriance with contendars at this level. Burkman was a pretty good test though, that was passed with flying colors.
I used to like Diego, but due to his arrogance; I stopped liking him. I hate to say it, but as good as Fitch is; this is going to be Fitch’s toughest fight of his career. I am wondering if he is up to it. Diego has been in the octagon against two top five/top ten welterweights in Koscheck and Parisyan, so Diego has been in the ring with tough ass opponents; I just hope Fitch is up to the task. I am going to cheer for Fitch and hopefully he comes out on top.

Wow! What happen to the Diego fans. Just before the Kos fight 90% of people were putting their money on Diego. Now it’s like everybody hates him. Diego will come back stronger, no doubt. Wishful thinking as he is not that underrated. He just hasnt fought the right guys yet to move up the echelons. He’s good but i dont see him making champ by 08 if ever. Its all heresay until he steps into the cage. I personally dont think He would be a ad match-up for hughes and deff dont see him right now beating GSP. Its this unknown element that might make some of you think he’s better than he is. We just have to wait and see what happens when the competition gets tougher and tougher.
I don’t know how anyone can see Fitch beating Sanchez in this fight. Sanchez has lost one fight and he had a staph infection. Fitch looked horrible in the first round of his last fight against Carneiro. Since I don’t know any UFC figher’s “personally” that’s what we have to go by and the image he presents of himself. I didn’t list everything off the top of my head that makes him a douche, but almost anything that comes out of his mouth is crap.

Wow, I am amazed at the pure major dislike of Diego. Damn, he is one of the most exciting fighters out there, who gives it more than a 100% whenever he is in the octogan. As I said before I have read quite a few of his interviews and he never comes across as being arrogant or full of himself, if he ever does trash talk, it’s usually because it has already been done to him. I really truly dislike only two fighters, Koschek and Riggs, who both are totally ignorant and arrogant and who both really do not try to hide it. Diego without doubt can be a bit strange and weird sometimes, but I really cannot see it warranting the bad feeling there is towards him, he is one of the fighters who make MMA worth watching.

Where did you read that I hate Diego? Do I care for him? No, but, I have acknowledged a couple of times that he is a good fighter and that I like to see him fight and agree that he has a chance of winning, but yes I would like to see Fitch take this. Ive always liked Diego reguardless. He’s a great skilled fighter. Damn this is a hard fight to predict. Fitch to win is gonna have to KO Diego cuz i dont see him catching him in any Submissions. On paper Diego has the better looking resume with wins over better fighters than Fitch has fought. But that dont mean sh1t i know. Im cheering for my Boy diego but wont be heartbroken if he losses to Fitch cuz he’s got skills.

If Diego fights like he did against Koschek, he doesn’t have a chance. I’ve only seen a couple of Fitch’s fights but he should give Diego all he can handle.
I definitely didn’t pick Sanchez to KO Riggs so anything can happen. Both guys need this win. Fitch has been unbeaten recently but- against weaker competition than Sanchez. Diego’s only loss to Koscheck was hardly a beat down but a second straight loss would really set him back.

I don’t know much about Fitch, but I am fan of Diego, and I have read a few of his interviews he seems pretty humble in those, not slagging anyone off and talking about how great he is. Fitch must be pretty good judging by the comments. It should be a good fight. Diego may be a little weird, but why would you want someone who puts on the performances he does, to retire. Did you not enjoy the Karo and Diaz fights. Unlike Sherk and quite a few others when Diego is at 100%, he definately gives you your moneys worth. May the best man win.
There is absolutely no way Diego will beat my man Fitch. Jon is way too strong for Diego and he will steamroll him just like he did to his last six opponents. Fitch will tear through Diego, win the welterweight title and probably hold onto it for the rest of his career.
I know that Diego already has beaten both Karo and Diaz — two fighters who command a lot of respect — but if Diego comes out and wins convincingly against Fitch, I’ll have a new perspective on him as a fighter. Until then, though, I have a hard time getting past the self-hype.
Let’s not forget that Sanchez had staph when he fought Koscheck. Of course, there’s always a “reason” why a guy loses (”I got caught” said The Iceman; “I had back problems” said The Maine-iac). But Sanchez with staph definitely took the snap out of his normal fight game.
Fitch is on a 13-fight winning streak, but he remains relatively unknown, at least to the casual fan. Fitch knows that beating Sanchez will put him on the map in a big way. At the same time, Sanchez can’t afford two losses in a row.

I’d say Fitch’s style closely resembles Randy Couture’s. He is a dominant wrestler, very strong, gets his guys down and pounds on them. I’ve only seen one of his fights- against Carniero. As I recall he weathered a storm early on and came back and choked him out.
If you haven’t seen a guy fight, it’s hard to just take everyone’s word on how “tough” a guy is. I’d like to see Fitch and Koscheck wrestling each other in practice because they are two of the top four in the world at their weight (Hughes GSP).

Well he cant really pick and choose his fights. He probably in reality has very little say in who fights. He loses one fight by decision and then if he wins this one he will just be “half decent to jo blow on the street”. Thats one of the dumbest things ive read in awhile. He had an unbeaten record better than Fitch’s and he’s beaten better competition. Jon will be lucky to make it unbeaten as long as Diego did. Karo would beat Kos.
I think Diego took this fight because he is either a) underestimating Jon Fitch or 2) is completely dillusional. Actually, both may be true.
Diego will come out like a rabid dog but I guarantee Fitch will be expecting it. I think it will be exciting to see how he counters Diego’s aggression. I think we’re going to see some interesting things from Fitch in this fight.
I hope I hope Fitch can do it, I think a big disadvantage is gonna be his lack of expiriance with contendars at this level. Burkman was a pretty good test though, that was passed with flying colors.

Wow! What happen to the Diego fans. Just before the Kos fight 90% of people were putting their money on Diego. Now it’s like everybody hates him. Diego will come back stronger, no doubt. Wishful thinking as he is not that underrated. He just hasnt fought the right guys yet to move up the echelons. He’s good but i dont see him making champ by 08 if ever. Its all heresay until he steps into the cage. I personally dont think He would be a ad match-up for hughes and deff dont see him right now beating GSP. Its this unknown element that might make some of you think he’s better than he is. We just have to wait and see what happens when the competition gets tougher and tougher.

Fitch looked horrible in the first round of his last fight against Carneiro. Sanchez wins this fight and goes back to being a top ranked welterweight and Fitch goes back to dominating b-level fighters.

Since I don’t know any UFC figher’s “personally” that’s what we have to go by and the image he presents of himself. I didn’t list everything off the top of my head that makes him a douche, but almost anything that comes out of his mouth is crap.

All of you “overnighters” jump from bandwagon to bandwagon like it’s nothing. It just shows the level of intelligence of the casual MMA fan. Before the KOS fight most of you were Diego fans. Now most of you are Fitch fans. I am a fan of both and expect a great fight.
The fact that most of you hate Diego because he is weird? Now, that is pathetic.
Fitch is vunerable to submissions. Diego is vunerable to great wrestlers. This is a pretty even matchup. It is obvious that most of you don’t know anything about MMA, or else you wouldn’t underestimate Diego’s potential just because you think he is weird. Diego is the real deal. Fitch is the real deal.
This should be a great fight.
It’s hard to take Diego seriously when he sounds like a mouseketeer? Fitch by submission in the first or second. Unless Diego finds a way to bring his rescue pack into the octagon with him.

Wow, I am amazed at the pure major dislike of Diego. Damn, he is one of the most exciting fighters out there, who gives it more than a 100% whenever he is in the octogan. As I said before I have read quite a few of his interviews and he never comes across as being arrogant or full of himself, if he ever does trash talk, it’s usually because it has already been done to him. I really truly dislike only two fighters, Koschek and Riggs, who both are totally ignorant and arrogant and who both really do not try to hide it. Diego without doubt can be a bit strange and weird sometimes, but I really cannot see it warranting the bad feeling there is towards him, he is one of the fighters who make MMA worth watching.

Where did you read that I hate Diego? Do I care for him? No, but, I have acknowledged a couple of times that he is a good fighter and that I like to see him fight and agree that he has a chance of winning, but yes I would like to see Fitch take this.
