Well here's the thing about the Count, his wrestling's not good. He admits himself he is a long long way from the top guys at the moment.

If he fought Pride rules in a ring he would be much better. But I like him and he's exciting plus he's relatively raw, young and new to the sport.

As for Guida well he's just a ball of energy. One of my favourites at lw for sure.
Sam thats a very excellent point you make and its totally true. I dont know if Roger Huerta NEEDS the kid glove treatment that Dana White is giving him. However, he is certainly getting it. Simple reason : The UFC wants the Spanish demographic its easy to see.

Michael Bisping is spoon fed fights and on top of that, he doesnt even have to travel to Vegas or California to do so. He drives to the Areans in England while his opponents have to adjust to a huge time difference. All to get the fan base in the UK ? Give me a break Bisping is a complete joke and will NEVER be a top five contender.

On the other hand, I feel Roger Huerta is good enough to the point where he should start demanding some more well known opponents. He is getting a bad wrap with all of these UFC newbies simply because Dana needs him to win to bring a new demographic in to his PPV sales lol.

Bisping on the other hand needs his protection as the golden boy of the UK
Dude, I'm so sick of reading this crap (what happened to 'cuts' - did it make you feel silly?)...have you checked out the other TUF winners lately. Not too many have faced stiff competition early on in their careers. Please provide a list of Tuff fighters who haven't been "protected" in their development (remember, it's his third fight, and it can easily be considered a grudge match). Stevenson? Evans? Sanchez? Etc. Yeah, he's not faced the cream of the crop. Neither have they. He's in a deep, talented division...and must work his way up. How else does a fighter with potential actually reach his potential???

Guida rocks, and I think he'll pull this one out. He's been robbed in the past, and is fast learning that the only way to avoid being robbed by a decision is to knock the other guy out (or submit)...

Bisping and Huerta both get preferential treatment from the UFC. But does anyone really buy into the Bisping hype? We all seem to know it is just hype for the GB market. Too many people buy into the PR campaign around Huerta. That's what aggravates people. I also don't think he is the draw his defenders think he is. He isn't selling PPVs as far as i can see, though listening to his people you would think 1 million households buy the PPV just for him.

Guida is getting shafted.
Bisping on the other hand needs his protection as the golden boy of the UK
Not to go too far off topic, and not to start the "Bisping is protected" argument again, but... I just re-watched Matt Hamill's last UFC fight. If the guy hasn't VASTLY improved, he is going to get smashed by Bisping.

Matt Hamill lacks that killer instinct... even if he gets Bisping down, which he will, Bisping will have time to get back up. Matt's stand up is BAD, and Bisping will either kick him the face or punch him in the face until it's over. (While Matt's get plenty of power, Bisping has quickness and striking accuracy that will overcome Matt's grappling power.)

I think Guida would have been a better test for Roger Huerta than Alberto Crane. Now that would have been a FIGHT! I really dont think those split decision losses should count against him that much, other than the fact it goes on record as a loss. Maybe they havent counted against him since his next opponent (Aurelio) is one tough cat.
I dont think Heurta is being 'pampered...' Its not like the guy is a champ, or currently a contender. Heurta makes what? 2k to fight? If anything they are pinning him against less then proven fighters to keep his per fight income at bay.
Huerta got 24k against Doug Evans at the TUF 5 Finale.

I'd also like to add that losses aren't that big a deal in the long term for fighters like Huerta/Bisbing. First off, it shows they aren't being protected, so fans look at them as more legitimate. Second, it helps them by putting them up against decent competition

Just look at Randy. He has constantly fought the best his entire career, and has 8 losses to show for it. He is probably the most liked fighter in the ufc. As far as the younger guys go, Forrest lost vs Tito, then to Jardine, and I don't exactly see an empty bandwagon there.

I don't think money is an issue here. Huerta as a champion would make a lot of money for the ufc. He's an exciting fighter, good looking (the ladies love him), and charismatic.
