See here's the thing, Tanner lost to Franklin badly. Franklinly messed his face up. I know Tanner almost had Franklin out in round 1 and Rich was saved by the bell. But why on earth did Tanner want to out box Rich.

Tanner has deadly knees, still some of the best in the business in my humble opinion. Anderson Silva messed Rich up. Now Rich is strong and a big mw but hell so is Tanner, maybe bigger! If Tanner can engage Rich in a clinch (okay easier said than done fair enough) I don't see why he couldn't do the same thing to him.

But Anderson Silva is the champ you say. Yeah too right and I think he'll defend it against Ace. However I still feel Tanner will have to fight Franklin again. Whether it's for the number 1 contender or for the belt. Suppose Rich loses and Tanner wins well he might get Okami instead of Rich but who knows. Food for thought anyway at the least.
Tanner vs Okami.....*drools*
Tanner vs Marquardt........*more drool*

& yes, there will be a Tanner vs Franklin 3. It's inevitable due to the small amount of contenders at 185.

Tanner has lost to Franklin twice. Not sure why there would be a third match-up even though a lot of time has gone by. Tanner should get a second not-so-hard fighter and then maybe they finesse a title shot for him.
Yeah I know, but for fans in the know (suppose there's a lot of casual fans who aren't) he has to fight someone genuine before he fights Silva. Add to this the fact the mw division is pretty weak. Honestly though who could he fight in his second fight?

There's Rich, Yushin, Jmac, Grove, Herman, Marquardt. Terry Martin? That's a who's who really. Pretty weak I'd say. You see the thing is I don't want to see the UFC engineer a title shot. He's got to fight one of the 5 above if he can get past Marvin and I don't think they'd feed him either of the TUF guys. If so it's bs. It's got to be Rich, Yushin, Jmac or Marquardt. Preferably Okami, if not Rich. As a fan those are the fights I want to see.

That being said you're probably right, they won't give Ace...would be nice to see though because I think Tanner is better than what he showed the last time they fought. Tanner Okami is fine by me though.

I wanna c Tanner added to the weak 185 division. Tanner may not win, but he always puts the other fighter ?"thru the fire" as Rogan would say... I dont know how much he has left to compete for the title, but at the very least, he is a way to test the up an comming fighters and find out who the real deal is, and weed out the pretenders.

I saw somewhere that he would fight at 205... I hope thats a mistake.. He is needed at 185

[...] Okay, okay. For once I’ll actually discuss Evan Tanner’s UFC career. Things have hit a boil on the internet, with the word being that Evan Tanner may return to the Octagon at UFC76 against Marvin Eastman. Not to put down my man Tanner, but I have my doubts. His website is nothing but pictures of fish and sunsets. No one has breathed a word about Evan training since that announcement from Chute Boxe USA. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope that between existential poetry and fixing boats he’s managed to do some sit-ups and maybe a bit of grappling. Eastman is a tough son of a bitch, and if Tanner doesn’t come in ready he’s gonna get whupped. [...]

I thought Evan Tanner would deserve someone a little better than Eastman? Anywho...Glad to see Tanner back. The middleweight division needs him badly.
