ufc 76 fight card
Christian Wellisch (7-3) is in talks to fight Justin McCully (8-3-2) at UFC 76: “Knockout” on September 22, according to a UFCmania.com source.

While no bout agreements have been signed at this time, we have learned that the two heavyweights will more than likely clash at The Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

“The Hungarian Nightmare” is looking to build on his unanimous decision win over Anthony Perosh at UFC 66 in December 2006. Prior to that bout, the law student suffered a setback in his Octagon debut against firece striker Chieck Kongo at UFC 62 back in August 2006.

McCully — a last-minute replacement for Frank Mir — shocked a few folks with his unanimous decision win over Antoni Hardonk at UFC Fight Night 9 in April. The Team Punishment disciple is currently overseas with U.S. troops on a tour with ringleader Tito Ortiz.

I could see this being a really boring and sloppy fight.
I am glad it is not on the UFC 77 card.

(This is a subject change but I don’t see this particular topic getting 100 posts anyway.) I saw these two chicks fight on Bodog last night: Karina Damm def. (can’t remember) and it was slam bang the whole time. I’d really like to see UFC-Pride-WEC add maybe two women’s divisions- maybe lightweight and welterweight. Women fight in a lot of other venues. I don’t know if Zuffa thinks it would be too controversial or too boring?

BTW- One of 60 Minutes segments tonight is about the popularity of MMA.

Karina (Barbie) Damm fought Molly Helsel(My Fav Women MMA fighter). It was an impressive fight considering the temp they were fighting in and just all around good. Damm retreated the whole time and was showboatin a bit so i didnt like that. But maybe im biased as i said Helsel is one of my favs. They want to incorporate Womens MMA into the UFC but there arent enough Women MMA fighters to fill out the weight classes yet. At least that was the reason last time i checked could be some other reason that attribute to it also. But its not gonna be to far off until we see Womens MMA get some much deserved attention. Alot of their fights are more entertaining than the Mens. deff sometimes more fast paced they dont gas as fast. Less knockouts but there still there. So i hope we get to see Womens MMA up front soon.

Yeah shes not bad i just didnt like how she was dancing around and taunting Helsel. shes lucky Helsel didnt clock her one but Damm was backstepping the whole time. Helsel had to cut alot of wieght for that fight plus the heat it had to be pretty rough. Damm is used to that climate Helsel is used to San diego which i guess is close but not the same when you have to cut wieght.Still a great fight.

This should be a good match up for this type of caliber fighter. They both are very sloopy and have so much to work on.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who thought Karina Damm was hot!! I loved the capoerra “showboating”, I loved that she’s dominant, the way she walks and stands instead of bouncing, the switch of her glutes, the translation of what she said…. and her wildcat attitude. I watched that fight 3 times now, the last time just last night.

I’d love to be Karina’s slave. She could even practice that left switch kick on me. :)

Sadly yes but it was quite unimpressive. Damm is good and maybe she was showing off to the home crowd. But i would have liked to see her stay in the pocket more instead of retreating the whole fight. Yeah she got some good combos in and a few kicks other than that she was going backwards the whole fight. And everytime they did engage in the pocket Damm got the better of the exchanges and Helsel would disengage. But yet Damm still retreated though whole fight and trying to act like the leg kicks dont hurt please gimmie a break.Like i said Damm is a good fighter but it shows a lack of class to be showboating. Exspecially since she wasnt doin much other than retreating the whole fight but then again maybe you were blinded by your overactive hormones.
