I can see Kendall getting to contender status within the next three years. He will be a great champion and his holding the title will be good for the UFC.
Yeah, maybe if Anderson Silva gets hit by a bus. Otherwise, Grove would be doing his little celebration dance not from a victory but out of flying-knee induced delirium on a pile of his knocked out teeth.
READ. I said "contender status". That means he would be in line to fight for it. The latter part will happen too, because Silva is in his 30s already and Grove is only 24. I don't doubt that Silva would whoop his ass if they fought later this year. Silva is probably the most dominant champion right now. But when he gets older and Grove hits his prime, he will take the title, and I dont doubt that it will still be Silva who he has to beat.

Quite frankly, I think you will be seeing Cote in Cage Rage or something after this fight...he just seems to have problems stringing together wins in the Octagon...and Kendall will continue to be fed weak ass opponents...Dana needs to build him up for the future shows in Hawaii...Nevertheless, i feel Da Spider has some potential to offer us some quality entertainment as he develops his skills...we will see...
I like Grove as a fighter, I like that he always seems to want to improve, but I can't stand some of his grandstanding shit.

Funny thing, so many people have shit on Bisping because of his opponents. Why hasn't there been the same backlash against Grove? His opponents haven't been top tier, yet most bloggers seem content with who the UFC brass has put in front of him. Both he and Bisping are talented, confident, and brash young fighters. Yet people see Bisping as being coddled when his matches are against less-than-top tier opponents. Taking nothing away from Cote (who predict will win this fight), but he's not a top middle weight...
Excellent point. I've been thinking this for a long time. I agree completely.
When someone says MW is weak, I'm picturing Silva, Franklin, Okami, Marquardt- not to mention the Pride guys coming in. No way! If anything is weak it's HW... well was. There's another flood of new fighters. I just think a 43-year old undersized LHW coming out of retirement and taking the HW belt speaks for itself. RC is a great fighter but he should be home collecting social security- not wearing the belt.
I think a good measure of how strong a division is is if you look at how many guys have a legitamite shot at taking the belt away. In the middleweight I can't name 1. I mean Franklin is very very good but I dont see his rematch with Silva going much different that the first one. Okami probably has the best chance to beat Silvia but I highly doubt he could do it. I mean Terry Martin is one of the top 5 middleweight fighters right now I think that speaks for how weak the division is. Heavyweight is absolutely stacked right now though. I mean Couture, Conzaga, Cro Cop, Nog, Arlovski, and hopefully soon Fedor, I would say that is a pretty stacked division.
Grove to full of himself but i guess alot of fighters are. I see Grove being mediocre at beat. Ive never really been amazed by his fights and probalby never will be.
I think what is impressive about Grove is how much he improves with every fight and the fact that he is a 6'7" middleweight which obviously creates a lot of problems. I was not impressed at all by him during TUF then in the final against Ed Herman he looked pretty decent and his last two fights since TUF he looked much better in each fight and I was very impressive with his last fight where he completely dominated. I'm not saying he could be Anderson Silva right now or anything but give him two years and I think he'll be a top 3 or 4 middleweight.

Im sick of hearin how some fighters refuse to fight others just because their "friends"... makes me wonder y they became professional fighters in the first place. ITS YOUR JOB TO FIGHT SO SUCK IT UP AND FIGHT WHOEVER THEY PUT IN FRONT OF YOU!! and if it happens to be a buddy of urs then all the better cuz afterwards u 2 can go out and have a few beers and leave it in the cage/ring
I agree whole heartedly! Be a "professional" not a coward hiding behind this excuse to fight someone who you don't think you can beat.
Very well put. Add me to the list of those who agree. Next thing you know, some of these dudes are going to be walking around saying they can only fight 2 or 3 dudes in their division because they're poker pals with the rest of them. I remember when some fighters used to put one name on their no-fight list. Now we have three names for Grove, then five names for the next one, etc.

"Never fight Leben??" every MW fighter wants to fight Leben.
