I was really impressed with Florian he just gets better all the time. If he only had the extra strenght and power, he would take out Sherk. That is the only thing he lacked in there first fight. If Sherk fights Penn, it will probably be one of the only instances where him being stronger will not be that much of a huge advantage. I really do find Sherks fighting style a bit boring Champion or not.

Herring Fight
The Herring fight was a total disgrace. He caught Big Nog square with the kick and destroyed him. The fight certainly should have been stopped as Big Nog was laid out and totally unable to block any of the strikes. Then, of course, for no reason whatsoever, Herring backs off and does not do another thing the entire fight. It should be obvious to anyone with half of brain that Herring was told not to win the fight. He did nothing but throw a joke combination with that headkick. The only reason it landed was b/c Big Nog made a huge mistake and bent into it. This fight set the tone for the entire night. By the way, the break after the first round has got to be a record.

this whole conseracy theory stuff is a bit brash i think. Heath knows Nog is probibly the most dangerious guy he would face in the heavyweight division on the ground, even if nog is on the bottom. and besides thta hearing did prounce on him at first and tried to stop it but Nog was defending (barely!)and hearing stood up like any smart fighter would. he had to think Nog is just hanging on and if he could get him up he could bust him up. it wasnt a bad move on his part. Nog could have been half knocked out and submitted hearing easily if Heath got to careless trying to finidh the fight. Just ask Jardine how it work when ya think a guy is out and he isnt!

I’ve seen chuck liddell molest the hell out of the cage and never get a point taken away. I don’t think tito was right to grab the cage but unless they penalize with consistency, that’s lame.

Also, what was with tito looking gassed in the 3rd round? I haven’t seen that happen to him since the early days.

Sherk needs to be beat. he gets great positions and does nothing with them. the only more boring title fight would involve tim sylvia.

Heath Herring would have won that fight if he kept G&P.

Well, dont take offense Jesse, I think a conspiracy is definitely there.
Take the GG-CC fight, we all agree that Dean brought that fight to its feet MUCH faster then he ever has done. Granted it worked out for GG, but I said two secs after they were stood up that Dean was heavily ’suggested’ by UFC uppers to keep that fight on the feet, especially after the O’brien – HH fight.

FF to sat… Minotauro was clearly out, a quarter of the MMA refs in the world would have stopped that fight. Heath has showed his great gnp several times… but I guess he 100% forgot it for that fight right? Then Nog was ‘waving’ and HH got up? Since when was a wave a form of ‘get up off me’ or self defense? HH was against, heavily suggested not to beat Minotauro.

Also think there might be some BS over the Tito-Rashad fight too. What a joke the judge’s cards were…

I was really disappointed with the PPV. I bought it online through the website and for some reason they only offered 600 kbps stream. The quality was terrible. BUt as far as the fights go, how can anyone not say herring threw that fight. Im not saying dana told him to, but someone did. Tito pisses me off. He talks all this garbage about I trained my butt off and then displays a sorry performance. He tried for take downs all night instead of trading punches. Sherk is boring. THats why people booed him. Yes it was an amazing technical fight, but thats not exciting. No one likes that. Silva was amazing. THe only reason i want to see him fight Franklin is to watch him beat that ass again. I wouldve rather seen silva fight okami. I really hope i and every one who thinks that herring threw that fight are wrong, because if not then the UFC is gonna be in some shit!

- Nog looked SICK despite that one head kick and even after that yall could tell that Herring was SHIT scared to get close to him, all he had to do was finish him off…
- Sherk DOMINATED!!! i don’t know if anyone can challenge him for the belt, maybe Spencer Fisher vs. Kenny Florian?? what about Roger Huerta, i think he has the best chance out of the lightweights but i think he still needs a few more fights under his belt…other than that BJ PENN is the clear cut favourite against Sherk…
- Ortiz was beating Evans’ ass, throwin him around, takin him down wenever but didnt do SHIT when he was on top, Tito is known to have the best ground n pound game in UFC history and we didn’t see ANY of it in that fight but the draw was legit…Rashad Evans SUCKS!!! he has a major ego n thinks he can handle it with Tito..Tito looked very fatigue in the 3rd round n didnt look the same, has to be an injury(back??), because his cardio is always excellent, i say put them in again in the next fightcard ASAP…there’s a long wait until Aug 25 for UFC 74 so i think the UFC should try to get a fight night in there somewhere…
- Anderson Silva is the most dangerous man in the UFC man that guy is insanee…i don’t see anyone beating him and see Rich Franklin getting TKO’d again…even if Franklin can get to the latter rounds i think he’ll be too banged up to put on any offense anyways….
- Overall it was a good card, good fights…

i dont know how you can say nog looked horrible. he completely dominated hearing until that amazing kick, and to be honest the fight should have been called there. but give him credit. most guys wouldnt even have came out of there corner after that kick. Nog looked great untill the kick heard round the world. that kick still looks crazy even on my tvo and i know its comming now! Sherk looked good, but lets not say clinic either, he put on a wrestling clinic in that fight, and not an mma clinic. but thats his style i guess. he still didnt show much skill, but wow does he have strength for that weight class. i hope bj doesnt go back up and stays there. that would be a nice fight. tito just pisses me off sometimes. he is like a bull most of the time. and didnt try to hurt evans at all. even at that, i dont know how the hell you can score that final round to evans. 15 seconds of a take down and he won the round. what a freakin joke. tito won the first 10-9, the second was 9-9 and the third should have been 10-9 as well. that was a lowsy set up for a rematch. evans didnt show any thing in that fight except the ability to avoid damage. thats it. and anyone who saw the tv show knows he can stand around and dodge. he sucks!congrats silva, your a beast man. i love to watch you fight. Nog and andre are a fight i cant wait to see. im taking arlovski in it. but i like nog as well. nice to see the heavyweights have some talent for a change. and on another note, anyone know if we will ever see randleman back in the ufc? one big liddell knockout and he goes awol to pride!

people, sherk is NOT hughes…he’s way to quick/fast and he’s way more active trying to finish opponents…

to the tomato can who suggested he has “little skill” and “raw strength”, are you kidding me?? the guy put on a clinic. yeah he’s incredibly strong, but he schooled franca in more than just strength. it was anything but a boring fight…

herring showed himself well last night. no one gave him a chance and most of the bloggers on this site were singing nog’s praises for weeks/months… and herring should have knocked his candy ass out. nog lucked out…herring appeared a little gassed, and a little surprised with the knock down and a confused and slow nog. for some reason, it actually looked like he didn’t really want to win (he definitely lacked any killer instinct).. too bad, it would have been a great upset…

all of you who are whinning about the card – wake up. it was great…you’re just looking for something to complain about…
