Tito being the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” you would assume he’ll throw the party in HB. why did he have to make it so damn far!

Dana finally is talking shit about Tito. He will only give Tito tough matchups now and no title fights. Tito won’t hold the belt again, especially with Shogun/Rampage/Silva/etc. There is too much talent now. Even Rashad may be too much for him.

Announcing a party before you know that you have something to celebrate sounds like the “kiss of death” to me. Chuck Liddell may have started a trend with this and Tito is falling into the same trap. He obvious has no respect for Rashad. I don’t understand fighters that want to give their opponent more motivation. It looks like a bad omen for Tito.

We had after parties for football games all the time, and if winning was a requirement for them we only would have had 2 all season.

Literally, they’re throwing a party after the UFC event for people to hang out and party and Tito will be there as well. It’s not a slap in the face.

So how did MTUFC get pissed so bad that he is not coming back? I still come to look at the page, but I comment 1/10th of what I used to due to the terrible backlash. Not too big on the commenting anymore, but I sill like reading the info.

Thanks Mania for putting up an informational site, I feel like I was able to comment for a while before it became too bad. I stop in from time to time to read posts, and I will comment on stuff I feel to not resort in backlash.

Later

MTUFC got some comments deleted and I believe seeing that fighter bashing (without anything to back it up) is most of the time tolerated here, yet somewhat emotional replies to those trolls are deleted kinda gave the impression of a double-standard, at least in his case.

I believe this explains it in detail: h**p://morethanufc.blogspot.com/2007/06/bloggers-comment-on-blogging.html

When it comes down to it, while taking into account this point in Rashad’s career, he couldn’t beat Tito on his best day.

Rashad is a great, up-and-coming fighter who unfortunately made the mistake of taking too much of a jump in competition and come 07-07-2007, Tito Ortiz is literally going to make Rashad Evans his bitch.

I respect Rashad but you all watch and see, love or hate Tito, he is going to put on a GnP clinic.

Tito wins by stoppage in the last minute of Rd. 2, or no later than the first 90 seconds of Rd. 3!

hey guys, if your a fighter and trying to fight for a living, would you take around 5,000 $ to make a party appearance? thats how reality stars continue making money without doing work.

tito will probably be there for an hour, sign autographs and have a drink or two before he leaves.

and as for the fight, id say evans stand up is better, but tito is better on the ground. after evans last fight he looked in trouble to sean salmon on the ground, now that says something. i think ortiz will be able to withstand evans stand up and take him down and win the fight from there.

and you all saw tuf 3. tito ortiz is a smart guy, he creates all this stuff to make money. if i were in the ufc and was an over-the-hill just over mediocore fighter in the ufc, id create all this noise to pull in a big payday.

Actually GSP started the trend. His after party was announced before the Serra fight. Then Chuck Liddell’s camp did the same thing before Rampage. Damn… people should not to celebrate before they actaully win.

This fight is make or break for Mr Ortiz. Tito has to know this and I believe we will see the best Tito Ortiz ever…. Although I am still not sure if the best Tito can beat Rashad! I keep going back and forth on this fight.

Rashad’s standup is not as good as Tito’s. Tito hung with Chuck for 3 rounds and Rashad has ok striking. I wouldn’t count that knockout of Sean Salmon as anything more than a wrestler getting kicked in the head. Salmon didn’t belong in the UFC and that fight was made to showcase Rashad Evans. The funny thing, is Rashad has better wrestling credentials than Tito. I think Rashad might take Tito down. And this fight would be great for Tito to show his submission game. Tito has great submissions but it never on his back to show them.

Rashad Evans by decision

Remember back to Tito-Shamrock II & III where Dana had pre-fight sound bites praising both guys and pumping the fights. Today, Twit-o and Shamerock are #1 and #2 on White’s sh*tlist. They should fight a three-way death match to a draw.

Rofl…

I dont think that Tito has much ‘better’ standup then Rashad, I think that Tito has better DEFENSIVE standup then most 205 fighters, including Rashad.

If this fight goes the distance, no way Rashad will win. Tito has a legendary record of winning decisions. His technique really does help him with decisions, take down, after take down… if its neutral on the feet, Tito will take all the ground points.

Tito doesn’t have the finishing power that Rashad does, and Rashad is on a roll. Other than against the old man Shamrock Ortiz hasn’t had a TKO since 2001. Why is everyone overlooking that Rashed just knocked out Lambert before Salmon? Lambert is no joke, and I’d even take Lambert over Ortiz…hell Lambert is 4-1 in the UFC with three knockouts, including once over Sobral. My vote is for Rashad…Ortiz just doesn’t have what it takes anymore to beat anyone better than Forrest Griffin in my book.

I dont see the after party thing as being a big deal. Some keep saying you shouldnt plan an after party until after you win. But as it was stated earlier in this thread all after parties arent victory parties. They are just parties to have a good time at .I seen on there it has a dress code now thats pretty lame. Anyways I wonder if were gonna see a better Rashad Evans since he has been training with Jacksons camp. I still give this fight to Tito. you cant overlook either of these fighters. The who has tito beat recently besides Shamrock statements are just ignorance by someone who doesnt like Ortiz but then as a cover up to try and make it sound justified says they use to be an ortiz fan. And Rashad is a good up and coming fighter no doubt about that. But it always comes down to who they have beat more than their attributes coming into their next fight. The past is past and we should have learned by now that you cant always go by records. Records are good to tell the experience of the fighter where they have been who they have fought and wins or losses thats about it. They cant predict the future. Im pretty sure im guilty of falling into that thinking well they beat this guy so they should easily win this fight. And by now im thinking records dont always speak for themselves their is so much more to a fighter than their record. Well ive rambled long enuff sorry guys/gals. In the end i dont think an afterparty hexes the fight.

TITO 2nd round ground n pound stoppage.

…now as far as the rest of titos career goes, i dont see him getting the belt back, he’s to one dimentional, he depends to much on his take down, with out it he cant win. if he took time off and made a die hard effort to become a true mixed martial artist then he’s got a chance, but with the influx of talent these days, i just dont see it.

sorry tito!

First I don’t even really like Tito , but I have to give credit where credit is due. Evans is everything you said he is , but Tito is better at everything . Rather than who has he beat, ask who has he lost to? Decision to Randy and went 3 rounds with Chuck .Can Evans hang with Randy for 3 round?, I just can’t see it. Can he last 3 rounds with Chuck without getting KO ed like almost everone else, I can’t see it. It’s do or die for Tito ,he won’t lose this won. I don’t think Tito will destroy him, but he will beat him.

You use Sobral as an example , but how long did he last against Chuck? (4 and a half minutes combinded in 2 fights). Tito lasted almost 20 minutes in 2 fights. Tito looked good against Chuck and Evans just ain’t as good as Chuck. Tito has only really lost to champions. He beat Guy down the 2nd fight.

My vote is for Rashad…Ortiz just doesn’t have what it takes anymore to beat anyone better than Forrest Griffin in my book.
Thats why tito wont EVER BE UFC CHAMPION AGAIN because he cant beat true contenders like chuck, as for evans he is a TUF winner whether you like it or not he is a more exiting fighter than tito and will be the LHW champion someday.
Thor1982, Do you really think if Ortiz gets his face pummeled he will still show up at that party? What if he requires hospitalization?
Ummm let me think uhh no. But i never said Tito was gonna be at this afterparty come hell or highwater. I just said i dont see a problem with afterparties. Obviously if he needs hospitlization(doubtful) he might not be there thats just common sense. I want Tito to win this fight but im not gonna say he’s gonna roll right over Rashad i just dont see him needing hospitilization after the fight.

Guy Meztger was never a true contender rashad has only been in the ufc 2-3 years and tito has been in the ufc for 8 years when evans gets a little more experience against guys like jardine and forrest griffin jason lambert a contender at 205 KOd babalu in 6 minutes and evans beat the punisher in 7 if that doesnt show that evans is a top 10 guy in the ufc i dont know what will.

Its not always about who beat who. It doesnt matter just because Rashad beat lambert dont mean he’s a better fighter than Sobral. You guys are depending on records to much to try and prove your point.
