I saw video of Couture-Barnett from the old days (UFC 36?) and I can see the fight with Gonzaga going the same way. Gonzaga is a big fellow and might wear Captain America down. I applaud RC for taking the title at 43 but I think it’s time for him to stay retired.

Gonzaga made himself a name from the Crocop fight…If he beats Randy, he’ll have the chance to be considered a “great”…if Randy wins, so what?…we will say he beat the guy that beat Crocop, that’s all?…Randy is my hero and I don’t want to see him go out like this. Randy, please win this so you can go out on top!

if anyone can do it @ 43, it’s Randy and NOT Ken Shamrock, that’s for damn sure!

This fight between Couture and Gonzaga is anyones fight in my opinion, I sure as hell am not going to dismiss Randy again. Couture is a class act the more I see this man speak the more respect I have for him, but really can’t see him competing for more than a couple more years.

How old was 4man when he “shocked the world?” Randy is gonna be 80yrs old, using a couple crutches to get to the octagon, and still whoopin ass!(lol)

Randy just has to watch out for submissions. I think he’s good enough on his feet with his dirty boxing and clenching that Gonzaga won’t KO him like that. Remember, Gonzaga is a BJJ Blackbelt who’s ground game is his specialty not his striking. This fight is tough for Randy because he likes to GNP but being down there is going to leave him open for submissions. It’s the type of fight that won’t go the distance because all the wrestling that’s going to go on is going to leave them spent and that’s when one will slip up.

What a class act. Even if he’s not your favorite fighter, you have to appreciate how well he represents the sport.

I hope he doesn’t fight Fedor! It’s not really fair. It’s not like they’re both in their prime. It just wouldn’t give a true comparison. One of these days Couture will seemingly age overnight if you know what I’m trying to say. At his age the inevitable physical decline must be just around the corner. A bad training camp and/or niggling injury would affect him more at his age. Beat Gonzaga and go out on a high.

I dont think anyone can say enough about how fu!%ing good Couture is for the sport. As for Rodman, the dude lost my respect after three things. He lost the free throw competition in Pros vs. Joes, he played the worst poker ever on that celebrity poker show, and he wore a freaking dress to get exposure. He didnt need to do anything else for a cheap thrill to be a rip-off as far as Im concerned.

Couture has got everything under control. RC is the smartest fighter in the MMA game. He consistently looks for ways of becoming a better fighter than he already is. If only guys like Shamrock and Gracie would have followed. Realizing that the MMA game was constantly evolving all these legends should of continued growing with it.

Hmmm, I originally gave a slight edge to Gonzaga, but each time I see Couture, I lean back his way. Damn it, If Couture was 10 years younger I would have an easier time picking him to win. F-it I’m just gonna go for Couture till the day he dies.

It’s hard to say. If anyone saw Gonzaga vs Kevin Jordan can see how bad he was at first, even though he had a nice superman punch. That was by far the worst fight ever. His KO on CroCop was very impressive. Randy did a great job against Silvia and knocked him on his ass the first punch he threw. I think it will be an interesting fight. I hope Randy wins by KO.

The natural beat tim sylvia on the feet and on the ground and throughout the entire fight, bear in mind sylvia has far better strikes than gonzaga and R.C has world class wrestling he is also 20lbs lighter than GG and beat him by TKO strikes Round 3.
