Yeah but Matt Hughes was came to and was clearly in the better condition. How do you call it when one man is KO’d and the other can’t get off the ground writhing in pain? Not nearly the same thing as Hughes/Newton.

gray should’ve WON!! I feel so bad for that dude. He should have won since he fully owned that fight. Emerson barely gave him ANY fight-backs!! I’m glad cole and joe won their fights…soo obvious they would! and of course, NATE DIAZ WON..I was rooting for him the whole time…too bad for manny..hope he gets better.. I know manny will be back for sure! haha I bet that bitch karo is pissed nate won!

I think Gray was out. I watched it in hidef and when he rolled off of Emerson from the side shot his eyes were rolled back in his head, regardless of where his arm was, you get knocked out things go stiff, arms, legs, ect. I’ve been stunned pretty hard a few times in my life, got hit hard enough once to put me down for a stoppage, I could see the guy coming in, could see the ref pull him off, but just couldn’t get my arms or legs to move. Seemed like it took for ever. I wasn’t ‘out’, but it took at good 15 seconds before I could even sit up or focus my eyes completely. So if he wasn’t completely out he was really, really stunned. However to compare it to the Hughs-Newton fight is comparing eggs to oranges. Its what the refs sees at the time, and watching the Hughs Newton fight each time I still wonder if he was out, stunned or what, because it was obvious he didn’t know what had happened. However like the refs decision or not its the decision, and the respectful thing to do is accept it and move on and end the fight decisively next time. I bet Gray learned to not tuck his head down so far on the slam next time.

I think Nate is an underrated kid, hes young and his talent will improve. I do think Manny would have out muscled him eventually, but you can’t take anything away from the kids ground skills. Also someone said the only way Diaz won was by lucky submissions– that shows an ignorances of ground fighting. Theres no such thing as ‘Lucky submissions’. A good ground fighter waits for those opportunities and takes them.

I was pulling for Jens simply because BJ came off like an ASS in the show, and I’ve always been a Penn fan, and anit-mfs (except maybe Spencer Fisher). Sure Penn may have let go of the armbar, but with out being the guy holding the arm you can’t know why. I doubt it was to ‘dish out more punishment’. It was likely he knew that it wasn’t working, or wanted to transition into something else– he did make a nice move into the triangle which Jens did a nice job of pulling out of. BJ showed his true nature by holding that choke well past the stoppage and Jens was 100% class by letting this all be squashed.

that was some pure bullSHIT how diaz won

manny was clearly winning the fight and wouldve won the fight had his shoulder not popped out

this shows just how much heart he has; it takes a painful freak accident like that to stop him

manny deserved it more

i hope dana white realizes this and doesnt underestimate him anymore..

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Hughes was “out” by a triangle when he slammed Newton to win the title. He had to be told he won. maynard is no different
