I agree I am not excited about the Manny/Diaz finale because we all know that Manny, Joe, Nate, Matt W, Gray, Corey, Cole and possibly Brandon will all be in the UFC.

I love the “sacrifical lamb” comment, but I think Evans is just going togo in there and get mauled to death by Roger, maybe even a 15 second knockout.

If someone was to throw in a machete into the octagon I would laugh hysterically, I am not that interested into this fight, but I would love to see Pulver pull it off, in MMAPlayground I got a couple of dollars on Penn.

Gray was out. No contest b/c, well, HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS. If Emerson wasn’t injured, he would have won the fight. Calling it a fix or comparing it to WWE just shows a lack of knowledge and respect for the UFC and MMA.

Penn looked good. He won pretty handily. Though Pulver did a great job defending. Too bad that was almost all he did. They said that Penn is going to 170, that’s a pretty deep pool for him to go swimming in. I guess it’s pretty good for him that he’s a big fish. I just hope that his conditioning doesn’t suffer from the move up.

All in all, pretty interesting.

Oh yeah, Andy Wang BUH BYE! Seems like a nice guy, I hope he gets a job as a BJJ trainer ’cause I don’t think that MMA is going to work out for him.

Evans performed well and really could have been the winner of his match but it just wasnt meant to be…

Mendez was not too bad, I am actually starting to like him.

Gray and Emerson are big liars, Gray knew he was out(heck after making his knees he had his head in Emersons crotch) Emerson didnt feel Grays weight go limp, if he were tapping due to pain he wouldnt have any clue what else was going on.

Manny had an ice pack on at the finals last week, I thought it looked wierd. He had it all over Diaz. Nate is very lucky.

Pulver and Penn, From the get go you could tell Pulver was out of the game. He didnt throw any and was on pure defence the whole time on the ground. Penn definitly has the tech over Pulver, I thought he held the Choke on too long… Just a little dirt.

They really have to do something with the whole “TEAM” thing on TUF, its kinda dumb. Once you get so far along in the show the team mentality kinda gets lost.

You almost need 4 coaches each with 4 fighters. Randomly draw from a team then randomly draw a fighter from the team.
and the following week its the other two teams who draw who fights. Or I suppose the Fighters could be selected by the coach and each coach presents his choice simultaniously.
That way you get less potential for lopsided fights.

Yeah, but BJ is crazy and who knows what was going through his head when he was doing that. I agree he should have let go sooner, but I wasnt the one in a fight.

What pisses me off is how Penn wants to go back to 170. I understand that his whole philosophy is that martial arts enables the smaller man to take down the bigger man, but his body doesnt seem to want to get much bigger. At least, not as far as muscle mass goes.

I would like to see him stay at 155, but BJ is crazy like that, I guess.

I think Diaz is a puss. the only fight that he did good in was his Emerson fight. all the others he got the shit kicked out of him and then got a lucky submission. i think most of the season was luck for Diaz. Corey was beating the crap out of him, Gray was beating the crap out of him, and then he gets lucky and Manny’s arm disslocaded after Manny just got done beating the crap out of him in the first round. I cant wait until Nate gets to fight people who are experienced. He wont be getting so lucky then. And as far a Gray go’s….I dont know. His arm was up yah but he was definitely knocked out when it first happened. then when he rolled over he woke up and thats when he put his arm up.

I thought that Grey should have retained the win the guy tapped out before he went knocked himself. I also though that Spike interviewed Pulver and recapped with him disrespecting Penn’s win. I watched it in hidef and when he rolled off of Emerson from the side shot his eyes were rolled back in his head, regardless of where his arm was, you get knocked out things go stiff, arms, legs, ect. I’ve been stunned pretty hard a few times in my life, got hit hard enough once to put me down for a stoppage, I could see the guy coming in, could see the ref pull him off, but just couldn’t get my arms or legs to move. Seemed like it took for ever. I wasn’t ‘out’, but it took at good 15 seconds before I could even sit up or focus my eyes completely. So if he wasn’t completely out he was really, really stunned. However to compare it to the Hughs-Newton fight is comparing eggs to oranges. Its what the refs sees at the time, and watching the Hughs Newton fight each time I still wonder if he was out, stunned or what, because it was obvious he didn’t know what had happened. However like the refs decision or not its the decision, and the respectful thing to do is accept it and move on and end the fight decisively next time. I bet Gray learned to not tuck his head down so far on the slam next time.

I think Nate is an underrated kid, hes young and his talent will improve. I do think Manny would have out muscled him eventually, but you can’t take anything away from the kids ground skills. Also someone said the only way Diaz won was by lucky submissions– that shows an ignorances of ground fighting. Theres no such thing as ‘Lucky submissions’. A good ground fighter waits for those opportunities and takes them.

I was pulling for Jens simply because BJ came off like an ASS in the show, and I’ve always been a Penn fan, and anit-mfs (except maybe Spencer Fisher). Sure Penn may have let go of the armbar, but with out being the guy holding the arm you can’t know why. I doubt it was to ‘dish out more punishment’. It was likely he knew that it wasn’t working, or wanted to transition into something else– he did make a nice move into the triangle which Jens did a nice job of pulling out of. BJ showed his true nature by holding that choke well past the stoppage and Jens was 100% class by letting this all be squashed.

gray should’ve WON!! I feel so bad for that dude. He should have won since he fully owned that fight. Emerson barely gave him ANY fight-backs!! I’m glad cole and joe won their fights…soo obvious they would! and of course, NATE DIAZ WON..I was rooting for him the whole time…too bad for manny..hope he gets better.. I know manny will be back for sure! haha I bet that bitch karo is pissed nate won!

oohh yaa..and I wanted jens to kick BJ’s ass cause BJ was being a total bitch! Jens is still the better man even if he lost.

Yeah but Matt Hughes was came to and was clearly in the better condition. How do you call it when one man is KO’d and the other can’t get off the ground writhing in pain? Not nearly the same thing as Hughes/Newton.

Long story short, it was a good call, and a dumb move to an otherwise awsome performance by Gray.
