Mania can you take off the auto play on the wandy video everytime I come to your site and if I want to leave it open that crap runs constantly, slows down my pc, and I saw it already
Let me see what I can do about that. Hopefully we can push it off the front page with another post. Sorry about that.
I’m giddy as a school girl for TUF5 finale:
155 lbs.: BJ Penn (10-4-1) vs. Jens Pulver (21-7-1)
155 lbs.: Roger Huerta (17-1-1) vs. Doug Evans (2-0)
155 lbs.: Manny Gamburyan (5-1) vs. Nate Diaz (5-2)
185 lbs.: Floyd Sword (9-2) vs. Thales Leites (10-1)
155 lbs.: Brandon Melendez (7-5) vs. Joe Lauzon (14-3)
155 lbs.: Andy Wang (5-6) vs. Cole Miller (11-2)
155 lbs.: Rob Emerson (6-6) vs. Gray Maynard (2-0)
155 lbs.: Leonard Garcia (9-2) vs. Allen Berube
155 lbs.: Brian Geraghty (17-9-1) vs. Matt Wiman (6-3)
This is gonna be a career death match for Penn and Pulver. Loser’s career is pretty much over. If they action is stalling in the second round, maybe someone will toss a machette in the cage. Loser may as well die- why not.
Looking forward to seeing Huerta fight again. Dude looks really tough. We’ll find out if this “Doug Evans” is another Houston Alexander timebomb or if he’s just a sacrificial lamb.
Not really that interested in Diaz-Gambo. Both winner and loser will continue to compete in future events. Out of all the rest of the TUF fighters, I’m only curious to see how Lauzon does after his surprise loss. See if he is back to his old self.
And I’m curious to see Leonard Garcia again. He seems to be very good at avoiding damage but can he dish it out?

I agree I am not excited about the Manny/Diaz finale because we all know that Manny, Joe, Nate, Matt W, Gray, Corey, Cole and possibly Brandon will all be in the UFC.
I love the “sacrifical lamb” comment, but I think Evans is just going togo in there and get mauled to death by Roger, maybe even a 15 second knockout.
If someone was to throw in a machete into the octagon I would laugh hysterically, I am not that interested into this fight, but I would love to see Pulver pull it off, in MMAPlayground I got a couple of dollars on Penn.
Anyone else think that Wiman is looking like a whiney bitch and sore loser? I hope Geraghty takes it to him.
The 185 fight looks good on paper…
And yeah Huerta is a maniac… not Maine-ac
I dislike MFS, but I was happy Fisher KO’ed Wiman. It was a nice flying knee if i remember correctly.
I threw $20 on all the underdogs, see if my money comes back.
I threw $20 on all the underdogs, see if my money comes back.
I’m sure it will…
2 for 2 right now in MMAPlayground.
Knockout… SLAM?
What?
sherdog says maynard knocked himself out and emerson tapped due to injury and it was ruled a no contest
Knockout… SLAM?
What?
Sorry, I got a text message of the result. It was confusion in the Octagon. MAYNARD-EMERSON IS A NO CONTEST!
a no contest????
Your kidding me?
A Draw in the UFC, that is a firsti n a while, how do you knockout yourself out from a slam
and i had gray winning over at mmaplayground
and i had gray winning over at mmaplayground
I think all of us did.
nate is going to rip off manny’s arm
Well it isn’t unprecidented to get knocked out by a slam when you are the initiator, Mark Kerr did in his last fight ever, plus Lindland did it once if I recall correctly.
nate is going to rip off manny’s arm
lets hope so I have a lot of Money on Nate Diaz on MMA playground.
Please let roger win I have $450 dollars on him
i got 150 on pulver. it pays 495.
Joe Rogan says ‘Doug Evans is no joke…’
GREAT first round there… really REALLY close to call.
Gray Maynard knocks himself out (slam) and Emerson taps simultaneously. Fight is ruled a no contest
Whoa… are you serious?!?
Damn, Evans showed great grappling… but in the end didnt have it to take Huerta…
HE was out, no question about it. He claims his arm was stuck under neath Emerson, yet when he tries to sit up he falls forward into the mat…..was he looking for his contact lenses?
Maynard…SHIT HAPPENS.
Next Fight!
WOW, I cant even watch the UFC anymore, it reminds me of the WWE/F.
Pride will always be #1.
Greg Maynard won that fight!
So disagree…you cant hold your arm up over your head like that if you are knocked out!!! Who does Rob Emerson know….getting a THIRD fight after losing the first two, and losing again, then having it called a draw!
You cant be out if you are holding your arm up! even the WWE knows that.
Guys dont forget to check out our POST Fight radio show at:

Call in, talk about the fights, including the bizarre Maynard-Emerson result.
Clay Guida was on earlier — GREAT interview.
Good job, Luke.
Whts up with the clows they got this year.? They cant even make wieght.
isn’t a tap a tap
this is the worst bias I have ever seen in UFC this is worse then any bad boxing decision.

Denile just ain’t a river in Egypt, Gray. He was out.
If you look again the doc/trainer pushes him back down to the ground (nice on trying to defend a corrupt organization)
I think at this rate The Rock will be champ in a week.
I saw the falling forward happen well AFTER the tap and after the fight had been stopperd…..and after the announcers had called the fight for Gray! I agree with the bias comment…like I said….who does Emerson know?
I think he knows Vince Mcmahon.
Nate is going down (unless he has help form the organization if you know what I mean)
Is that a Draw? if you hurt yourself?
My wife thinks Nate has a 4 leaf clover shoved in his ass.
Dana needs to do somthing.
I cant wait to see Diaz and Manny again. I wanted Diaz but Manny def won round one probably 10-9 and i have a feeling way fight was going Manny would’ve won the same way he beat Lauzon on the ground. Just simply keeping the fight on the ground and being the pitbull he is.
I think I won that fight
I DID MORE THEN NATE DID
manny already had a shoulder injury that kept him out for 2 years……. my guess is its gonna take a while for this one to heal 2…..danm shame
Great first round, I hope they do fight again!!
Kudos to the UFC for showing all these fights. I think we’ve seen almost every fight. Granted, most have ended early, but this is hopefully something that sticks going forward.
Ok…Wang is back? Where is Corey Hill??
IF LITTLE EVIL LOSSES IN CONTROVERSY I WILL PROTEST TO THE ATHLETIC COMMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey… no shit!
Melendez should be fighting at 185 then

I guess Karo’s little friend is out definitely for 2 years again. Poor baby
care to elaborate on the no-contest fight?
but Nate will be getting his ass kicked in the UFC soon.
Dude i am listening to you radio show.
BJ looks REALLY good…. best shape he has ever been in. Pulver stole that round at the end though… just like the first fight.

notice how bj had the choke on after the fight was stopped
I’m glad he hung on…let that be a message 2 Hughes…talk sh*t and u shall receive!
Yeah BJ Penn pissed me off about the choke, Steve tapped him I dunno probably 8 times then BJ pulled back then let go and that is trashy, no matter how much you hate the guy, when Tito and Shamrock (better rivalry) and Tito stopped shamrock he did not continue punching a broken down Shamrock.
Faber vs. Pulver
Faber takes Pulver down and (T)KO’s him.
I predicted all of the fights excepted for the Melendez/Lauzon fight correctly, I placed 20 bucks down on Melendez, and if I would have won I would have got 220 back.
I cant get on bjpenn.com. can someone tell me what it says… please
BJ looks REALLY good…. best shape he has ever been in. Pulver stole that round at the end though… just like the first fight.
BJ still dominated the majority of the 1st…so how did Jens win the 1st?…because in the last min he a 1 good reversal?…I don’t think so.

Ok…Wang is back? Where is Corey Hill??
Hey… no shit!
Corey Hill got injured in training(I think it was a rib injury like two weeks ago or something like that)….Anyways, BJ needs to fight at 155 and get that belt and then go up to 170 and take that one….I’d def have to say this card had some really strange endings…
I cant get on bjpenn.com. can someone tell me what it says… please
So many people are trying to log onto to it, thats why you cant get on.
I can’t get on either
BJ vs Sherk? Sherk vs Franca? BJ vs Franca? Nate vs Lauzon? Corey Hill vs anyone!!!
Gray was out. No contest b/c, well, HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS. If Emerson wasn’t injured, he would have won the fight. Calling it a fix or comparing it to WWE just shows a lack of knowledge and respect for the UFC and MMA.
Penn looked good. He won pretty handily. Though Pulver did a great job defending. Too bad that was almost all he did. They said that Penn is going to 170, that’s a pretty deep pool for him to go swimming in. I guess it’s pretty good for him that he’s a big fish. I just hope that his conditioning doesn’t suffer from the move up.
All in all, pretty interesting.
Oh yeah, Andy Wang BUH BYE! Seems like a nice guy, I hope he gets a job as a BJJ trainer ’cause I don’t think that MMA is going to work out for him.
I cant get on bjpenn.com. can someone tell me what it says… please
I can’t get on either
GSP gave hime that message i guess Hughes forgot
Well it was a 1/2 decent show.
Andy wang sucks, why in hell do they put him in there.
Floyd was pretty much spoon fed to Leites
Evans performed well and really could have been the winner of his match but it just wasnt meant to be…
Mendez was not too bad, I am actually starting to like him.
Gray and Emerson are big liars, Gray knew he was out(heck after making his knees he had his head in Emersons crotch) Emerson didnt feel Grays weight go limp, if he were tapping due to pain he wouldnt have any clue what else was going on.
Manny had an ice pack on at the finals last week, I thought it looked wierd. He had it all over Diaz. Nate is very lucky.
Pulver and Penn, From the get go you could tell Pulver was out of the game. He didnt throw any and was on pure defence the whole time on the ground. Penn definitly has the tech over Pulver, I thought he held the Choke on too long… Just a little dirt.
They really have to do something with the whole “TEAM” thing on TUF, its kinda dumb. Once you get so far along in the show the team mentality kinda gets lost.
You almost need 4 coaches each with 4 fighters. Randomly draw from a team then randomly draw a fighter from the team.
and the following week its the other two teams who draw who fights. Or I suppose the Fighters could be selected by the coach and each coach presents his choice simultaniously.
That way you get less potential for lopsided fights.
I would like to see an International version of TUF.

Yeah, but BJ is crazy and who knows what was going through his head when he was doing that. I agree he should have let go sooner, but I wasnt the one in a fight.
What pisses me off is how Penn wants to go back to 170. I understand that his whole philosophy is that martial arts enables the smaller man to take down the bigger man, but his body doesnt seem to want to get much bigger. At least, not as far as muscle mass goes.
I would like to see him stay at 155, but BJ is crazy like that, I guess.
I think that BJ’s site is probably getting hit hard right now. Server is likely too busy. Try again tomorrow?

if that was enough 2 piss u off, maybe u shouldn’t watch…i mean sh*t happens…DEAL!
Wang vs Gabe 4 title of the cry-babies!!!
Gray should have got’n the win he forced emerson to tap, like Hughes slamming Newton down,= even tho they were both out
shit do happen

I agree with you Freddy! I don’t think that “Ric” was watching the same fights that we were. Hell, he doesn’t even know Maynard’s first name! He thinks it’s Greg! LOL
Robbie and Matt can’t say nothing about BJ not letting go right away. They post themselves doing on their sites. If they can man it out after the fight, who are we?
well it look to me bj is on a mission an i think he mite stay at 155 to see how many wins he can rack up his first lost he will then move up to fight matt for a ruber match
Gray should have got’n the win he forced emerson to tap, like Hughes slamming Newton down,= even tho they were both out
true but, because people know this was “controversial” it will make the UFC more $ in a rematch!

Greg Maynard? We have a new member to ufcmania who just started watching UFC.
was it just me or did it seem to anyone else that b.j. let go of that armbar in the 1rst rnd on purpose?
was it just me or did it seem to anyone else that b.j. let go of that armbar in the 1rst rnd on purpose?
i agree
imagin BJ walking the streets…a van pulls up..MFS crew gets out and surrounds Penn…you spot BJ in trouble and decide honor is for in the cage…this is street rules…pull an AK and blast them fools like Scareface BITCHES!!! Hilo in this motherf*cker…

Yeah. That little quirk combined with a dislocated shoulder and simultaneous tap/ko made this the weirdest UFC night that I can remember.
kkrab
thanx Pat

at 1st, i thought he made a mistake - giving up a good position for a submission that wasn’t there…but he transitioned nicely…i shouldn’t be impressed because I’ve known BJ was good, but damn…way to go man…my f*ckin hero!!!
i think he let go of it just to punish jens more. now thats crazy.
b4 this finale, what was the 2cd most weirdest fightnight/ppv event yet(as far as outcomes r concerned)
