I didn’t cringe, I was just like “wow, he knocked him the F**K out!”. We talked for a couple minutes about how big the KO was and then began discussing the next fight coming up. Until logging on here I didn’t know anyone was up in arms about it. It was pretty brutal but that’s the sport, and he didn’t break any rules. But I think this horse is beaten to death so that’s that.

Well said, as far as trying to stay away from the neaderthal image, hitting an unconscious man 3 times very hard is cave man to me. I can’t believe he didn’t know the guy was out, when a fighters eyes are closed and his arms are laying on the mat…pretty good indication. Me no understand this, Me bash head until head caved in, then me pummel chest, me big man.

But the fight isn’t over until the ref stops it, some of you guys seem to be implying that the other fighter should be worrying about that while he is fighting. When the one guy was hit and went down the fight was still on, when McFedries punched him on the ground the fight was still on, it ended when the ref jumped in after those big shots. All that happened was McFedries kept hitting until the ref stopped the fight. I can see getting mad that the ref didn’t get in fast enough, but not being mad that McFedries fought until the fight was over.

Maybe I’m not understanding what you guys are angry about?

Why would a fighter punch and obviously unconscious fighter? And I don’t buy that BS about adenaline, the fighter knows when his opponent is out, bottom line your a piece of shite if you pummel someone who is out, extremely cowardly act.

I would assume that he “hates” fighting wrestlers because of their style of fighting, not that he hates them personally. Maybe he is now at home wringing his hands and cackling with pure evil though? “Mwahahahahaha!”

Didn’t Drew say he “hates” wrestlers? I have my suspicions about the 2 extra shots, to an obviously unconscious fighter. The ref was horrible, he should have been right there, when he got knocked down and ready to stop it. He moved like he was f**king 90 years old, and like a hero tackles Drew after he lands 2 hard shots to an unconscious fighter. Decent fighters stop when they know there opponent is out, bad combination, a malicious fighter and a incompetent ref, I don’t care what any one says the ref is shite. With a combination like that we may see a death inside the UFC yet.

I’m looking forward to seeing McFedries fight again myself. Heavy hands on that kid and there is nothing in fighting quite like the big time KO.

And you are right, the Rampage’s domination of Chuck wasn’t nearly this complete, he hit Chuck which stunned him, and the second blow I think on the ground caused his arms to fall away and left him unable to defend himself so it was stopped.

Anyone experiencing their first telecast of MMA on television would have to consider the sport brutal after watching that Mcfedries knockout. It supports the opposition’s case when they try to dehumanize the sport, that everyone on this site loves, by calling it “human cockfighting”. We can’t condone brutality in the octagon by hiding behind the rule that a fighter keeps fighting until the referee stops it. Each fighter as ironic as this sounds, has to be responsible for the safety and welfare of their fellow combatant. Everyone watching that fight at home knew the guy was out cold before he hit the ground. The person most aware and with the best view was McFedries. Please stop saying the ref should be fired. Experienced referees must be hard to come by and I would hope that this ref will learn from this experience.
