ugghh…i am so tired of people always saying the lord told them…..it’s because of peoples skills and training…NOT because they have a slight mental problem and think they are actually speaking to god one on one….So I am to believe that God didnt want Liddell to be champ anymore huh?? ROFLMAO
^InkMachine, I concur.
It’s great that they had a strategy and plan just concentrate on training for Henderson and make sure Rampage can defend well against the knees, shoots and leg kicks.
“It was divine inspiration that told me to kill 4 people.”
. . . uhmmm yeah.
Yeah, thinking the exact same thing, I really wish they would keep fighting and religion two separate entities. I’m not religious at all, and I find it kind of strange that you would give credit to some ghost-like figurine, and at the same time say that God didn’t want the other guy to win.
I’m pretty sure no God would condone fighting for money and entertainment.. :p (and if God do have something to do with it; I want my money back… I’m not wasting good betting money on a fixed fight!)
Uggh… who are you to question a man’s beliefs? If believing in Jesus helps a guy fight better or gives him spiritual peace, then why can’t they thank the lord?
and if God do have something to do with it; I want my money back… I’m not wasting good betting money on a fixed fight!)
LMAO that made my day haha
There is no difference if they thank God for the training plan or even if a fighter thanks his sponsors after the fight. Quit hating on the Lord. Shheesh.

If I were God, I wouldn’t. ~\~

Totally agree with you guys there.
Rampage is always funny to hear and watch. Chillen with this guy for a night must be so much fun

I’m pretty sure Jesus said to “turn the other cheek”, not “counter with a right hook.”
I’m not religious either and I find it hilarious when these guys, who fight for money (and for the most part in “Sin City”, thank one of the world’s most famous pacifists for helping them to destroy the other guy. I’m just waiting for someone to thank Ghandi next.
I’m just waiting for someone to thank Ghandi next.
Some Indian guy at a Kangaroo ( like a 7-11 ) in Cen Florida just disarmed and beat up a would be robber. I bet he did.
Stop talking about God like that. If people want to thank God so be it. It’s better than worshiping the devil.
I think they are one in the same (God = Devil).
Think about it god lets this “Fallen ANGEL” tempt people, how bad is that. What would you think if the Gov or cops said “yeah lets have drug dealers on every corner and let the kids decide for themselves”
If god truly did want us to decide for ourselves would he not give us power equal to his, so we could truly decide for ourselves. He did its called science.
He has given up on us, or has started up a new science fair project that needs more attention.
Did you notice god was very very harsh with people… not a slap on the wrist.
Your turned to salt, Babble different languages, plagues or take 40 days of rain. He even let his only begotten son get spiked to a cross, oh thats right Jesus didnt ask “Why have you forsaken me” Then it comes to him “I am dying cause eveyone is bad”
How about even revelations… he already has it planned out that we are gonna fail. (I have no doubt we will destroy our world)
Its kinda like the whole (Be good or santa will see you and you wont give you presents, religion was used to contol us and give us something to fear to keep us in line.)
I think there is always a good and bad side to everyone.
Where is god now, everything has a begining and end. Why should our creator be any different…
Religion has some good morals but you can get them out of any disney or fairy tale book.
Safe in saying that its better to live a good life and if there is a higher power they can judge you then when you die, who wants to have a god who only “Saves” the ones that believe in him/her. What about those who have no control(Unborn infants or native americans pre-whiteman) who can blame someone for not trusting institutions.
Man, what a rant.
All in all I just wish people would keep religion out of sports and politics. Religion has its good side but for the most part all its done is start wars.
In the immortal words of Johnny Storm…
“FLAME ON….”
Flame off.

sissy!
Theological debate aside, it does sound silly when fighters/trainers claim that a higher power gave them a strategy or even a victory. To a non-believer, that higher power might as well be aliens or a genie from a bottle. It just sounds ignorant.
In all our competitions, we have a solemn prayer to God (insert your deity here) for nothing more than safety in competiton and in travel. If you believe in a creator or superior being (I do), surely you do not believe that entity is “pulling strings” for his fave fighter. Now, that would be the ultimate “fixed fight”!
“Hey, you guys can all stop training and start praying! 1, 2, kneel, bow, 5, 6…” Rediculous!

Seriously though I myself believe in GOD but I totally agree with this because it is down right ridiculous to think that God is here to answer prayers about who will win a fight…Asking for safety maybe..but.. it does sound ignorant for someone to think that God will help you beat someone unconscience..
lot of focus on the god part here…
i dont think it really mattered. rampage trained and chuck didnt as much. he had a good game plan and it panned out earlier than expected.
what i thought was bad ass is how many people were howling in the background the entire interview.
as far as the god thing. anyone that puts their mind at focus or their mind at ease will be more fit mentally. if gad it what it takes for rampage so be it
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
BOTTOM LINE
As far as the God thing, none of this is anything but just words coming out of some guys mouth. If someone is gonna judge or make an opinion about God, do it from the source (BIBLE) after you have taken inot account everything and make up your own mind, don’t do it by what some guy says in an interview.
God does not make christians/believers win over non-believers/non-christians, obviously. When most christian athletes mention god after victories, it is just to thank him for the oppertunity, for the blessing they have, ont because, he helped me win. If they were really gonna back up there talk they would thank God when they lost as well, for the oppertunity and getting to where they were at even though they lost.
This guy clearly took it a little farther saying he felt god helped them win. I don’t buy it any there are plenty of people who make claims like that, non of it is anything but words from people and should not be used to degrade christianity or religion in any way, just people with probably good intentions, getting ahead of themselves.
I took this belt from *Chuck*!
Tell me that ain’t cool!
Man why is there so many God haters and i’m a beleiver of God and i wish people would stop bad mouthing God. I’d rather not have to come on this site and read alot of harsh words about my religion. Sure everybody has there own beliefs but come on guys lighten up its a mma blog.
This post was supposed to be about Rampage. I am as guilty as the next guy for making it about God, or Jesus, or any other one third deity ( I dont mean to leave out the Holy Spirit) or whole deity…..whatever.
Rampage busted his ass, then he “whooped dat ass”. My hat is off to him and his trainer.
You can hear this lady in the Background asking Rampage “Where did you get that from, Where did you get that from” and Rampage says ” I took this belt from *Chuck*”…Damn thats cool…Foreallzzz
Jason Bang, Anomaly, Lucas, all good points.
People who believe in GOD have just as much of a right to stand up for him as those who dont believe & choose to exercise the right to dispute him. If Ibarra feels the way he does then more power to him. Who are we to judge? Thats GOD’s job and not ours. I believe in GOD too & I’m glad you guys stuck to your guns.
