I would have to say that Fitch's wins in the octagon are more impressive than Sanchez's.

-Sanchez pretty much lost his fight to Alessio (although the judges, for some odd reason, gave it to DS),
-wasn't too convincing against Diaz (all major damage was done by Diaz's upkicks - DS just punched the ground and got take down points),
-Florian was a mismatch (lightweight fighting at 185),
-the win against Karo was impressive.
-the KO of Riggs was luck (yes, if you can't get a KO consistently, but you get it once, luck has played a role in that one KO -- if you mean to win the lottery and do, was it skill?)

Hughes is 1-1 against any top 5 welterweight he has faced(Penn and St Pierre) and was dominated in his wins against the two (and obviously dominated in his losses).

Fitch is a guy who is probably the most under rated fighter in the UFC. How Burkman got the Karo fight before Fitch is beyond me.

How Sanchez is considered a contender after his performance against Alessio is just rediculous. DS just lost to Kos but is still in contention reach?! I don't get it.

It would be easier to run down a list of guys who are ducking him.
Please do so then.
Diego
Hughes
Karo
Every other top 10 figher who's had the chance to fight him but has opted out. I understand they think they have everything to lose and nothing to gain because he hasn't faught any of the top guys. Chicken or Egg...you tell me?
And just for the record...

Win vs Shonie Carter (TKO; Strikes)
Win vs Jeff Joslin (Decision)
Win vs Josh Burkman (Submission; Rear Naked Choke)
Win vs Thiago Alves (TKO; Strikes)
Win vs Kuniyoshi Hironka (Decision)
Win vs Luigi Fiorvanti (Submission; Rear Naked Choke)

He's been beating the guys that will take the fights. It's time the UFC gives him the fights he's been asking for.

I'm not saying he would walk through anyone, but saying he's not a contender doesn't make much sense.
Run down the list of top 10 guys he's beat to earn contender status.
Maybe you should read the message again - no one will fight him! It would be easier to run down a list of guys who are ducking him.
It would be a good fight, but I think Fitch vs Karo would be even better, I can't wait until that fight happens! It will be robbery if it doesn't.
yeah i would love to see fitch vs. karo, it seems to me like that should have already happened, ufc's fault i guess, i wonder what kind of effect the outcome of karo/burkman will have on a possible fight between karo and fitch, like if karo loses to burkman would the ufc put him against fitch next or someone weaker, i think if karo wins he will fight fitch next though, as long as fitch gets past carneiro, which i think he will

If Fitch wins, is he a contender? Fitch vs Sanchez?
I would say no, not quite yet. This is his coming out party for the casual fan. Diego v Fitch may be a little too risky for the UFC brass. I think Karo is in this picture if both win and come out without any injuries or suspensions. Remember the UFC thinking on matches, one guy going up and one guy going down and somewhere on the ladder they meet.
Regardless of DS loss to Kos, he is still a top contender. Fitch isnt quite there yet, and while Roan is no pushover by any means, I dont think he vaults to the top 5 with a win. This really isnt that risky of a fight. If Carneiro KO's Fitch, all other upsets this year will be forgotten.
He already is a contender. He DESTROYED Burkaman, called out Karo and still gets stuck with Roan!? The guy is 18-2, winning 14 in a row and 5-0 in the UFC. It's hard to fault a guy looking to fight the big names, when they keep ducking him. He would flat out over power Diego & out wrestle/strike Matt Hughes. Put him in there with Serra right now and he would walk out with the belt. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he would walk through anyone, but saying he's not a contender doesn't make much sense.

Fitch Vs. Karo.
That would be a good first step up the ladder for Ficth, depending on how Karo does agianst Burkman.
Yeah this is a good one. I would love to see this.

another problem would be, what if fitch had to fight koscheck, or any other friend vs. friend that said they wouldn't fight each other, would those guys not want to enter a tourney like this? i agree with mtufc that a tourney would be awesome, the pride guys put more prestige and meaning behind the tourney's than winning the belt, winning a tournament like this would be the ultimate in proving endurance, strategy, and preparation, this would be huge over two ppvs, i would love to see it...
Hey, I'm the guy who did that interview with him and I must say, he was VERY adamant about never fighting Koscheck or Swick.

He said it would "ruin his career for one fight"

He even said he wouldn't fight Koscheck if he had the title.

But, it's the same situation as PRIDE in the OWGP. I believe Aleksander was in it, and the winner was supposed to face Fedor. Who know's what would've happened if Aleks ran the table.
i wonder why he thinks it would ruin his career to fight koscheck, i guess if its not gonna happen then its not gonna happen, that would be a bad ass fight though...i think even an eight man tournament would be badass to see, they don't even have to fight on the same night even though that would make it a lot more interesting
He said it's because of the dynamics at the AKA that it could ruin his career. The prefight, who trains who, who corners who, who sides with who and then after the fight with the winner and loser being in the gym together, and the problems that would come from that.

It would be a good fight, but I think Fitch vs Karo would be even better, I can't wait until that fight happens! It will be robbery if it doesn't.
