anyone agree that St. Pierre (although he is my favorite fighter and has unbelievable skills) might fight with that KO in the back of his mind? He has never been KO'd before in his career. Lucky or not, he still got hit with some bombs and got stopped. Anyone that has been knocked out by someone fights diffently against that opponent. Look at Randy against Chuck. They could fight another five times and I think Chuck knocks him out in most of them. I wouldn't say it is a sure bet that he runs over Serra if they fight again. Same thing goes if St. Pierre fights Hughes again. He will knock him the f*%k out! Agree?
"I like BJ better at 55 as we have discussed before MTUFC, but he could win either or both 55 and 70.
BJ has crazy BJJ, better than anyone in either division (who else even attempts a gogo), and also has the heaviest hands."
( Nick Diaz and Shinya Aoki for 2 ).

Sorry dude, I try to be nice but this statement is so ridiculous, it warrants a serious tongue lashing.

BJJ - If you mean in either division in the UFC you are still wrong ( Diaz and Aoki in Pride are indisputably better than BJ ). In a pure BJJ discussion, Nick Diaz ( ex-UFC ) has by far more wins in BJJ competition, not a Mundial win mind you, but more wins total. Heavy hands? Bj hits like a girl. Fitch, GSP, Sherk, Huerta, Jens, on and on and on have heavier hands.
Ha! I can't believe I missed this until now. I just couldn't let it go. I usually agree with you MTUFC...in fact I was wondering if this post was really yours.
First, either division refers to LW/WW. BJ can fight at either, at any age, because he is a natural LW. He looks pudgy at WW, but can get the job done...obviously.
Second, BJJ - I wasnt talking about BJJ competitions, but MMA and was specifically discussing UFC LW/WW divisions. Diaz faints the rubber guard, but he would rather stand and talk trash while pounding opponents. His gogo attempt was cutesie and nothing like the Penn/GSP match of 58 and nothing like the triangle in 63 against Hughes. BJs rubber guard is a real threat for subs, not Diaz taking a break on his back.
Last, Hits like a girl? BJ busts up everyone he fights with those heavy hands. Right hand sets up RNC against Hughes at 46, pounds GSP in the first round of 58 and was pounding Hughes before the injury at 63...no injury, he is the reigning LW champ. Diaz punches are arm punches at angles, not KO shots (maybe Lawler). GSP has heavy hands? Huerta throws alot of punches and has a busy style, but mostly GnP tkos and some subs. Sherk, Jens? I dont think so. Plus, Jens has a KO jaw to go with it.
My point being take the top in either division and BJ has superior BJJ and hands...I give GSP better overall striking due to leg strikes.
I will take BJ against the LW contenders Jens, Franca, KenFlo..lol, Huerta and to beat Sherk. That is why I like him at 55.

Serra metioned his dislike of Hughes and wanting to fight BEFORE he go the belt, which some people seem to be forgetting. I think he went a bit overboard with his comments about GSP though but I think it was definately an insult on GSP's part to say what he did about his loss the sameway Sylvia came out with his crap. Karo got hit and he recovered GSP didn't, he lost plain and simple. He needs to get over it and so do a lot of other people. Serra more or less admitted before the fight that GSP was probably the better fighter, but he said all he has to do is think I'm going to do one thing and then I do something else.... that's exactly what happned. GSP is one of my favourite fighters I never thought much of Serra's style, but I got to give him respect for taking out GSP, as painful as it for a lot of people, he deserves it.

I just watched the penn/serra fight on UFC on demand and it looked like a draw to me, very close. Serra does have heavy hands and definitely isn't someone to take lightly(to have such a close decision with someone like penn), and he dropped Karo in the first 11 seconds of the fight but Karo wasn't really hurt like Gsp was. Serra isn't a joke and taking him lightly is foolish it just takes one of his hard hits and it could be over as GSP can attest. I like GSP more than Serra but Serra is a decent guy overall, a bit of a hot head but hes honest and I admire that quality. GSP does sometimes seem inconsistent and could be more honest and not be so worried about pleasing everyone all the time. Serra got personal, Gsp didn't if anyone has to apologize about this incident it should be Serra. Calling GSP a pathetic liar, a mental midget and frenchy is rude, Gsp only said what everyone else thought that he could easily beat Serra and he didn't take him seriously and paid for it. Serra disrespected GSP far more than Gsp disrespected Serra, Serra should apologize to GSP.

Ill bet he'll murder all your asses n when he is done i hope he pisses all over u haters faces... I'm the biggest GSP fan there is ,but Sera did follow up perfectly after he had GSP hurt. I can't say why he lost but it definatly wasn't luck, and I think GSP realizes that. I think he also realized that he can't unload on a guy that he likes ("I didn't feel right, I couldn't let my punches go"), hence the rivalry he started. Sera calling him "Frenchy", should about do it. He didn't lose because of his training (or lack there of) . At this level how is a few more weeks of training going to help you from getting tagged? It's not like he gassed or anything. Gsp has to come out with more of a fire under his ass, and if starting a feud with Sera is what it takes ,then so be .
