Kenny Florian (5-3) will face Alvin Robinson (8-1) in a lightweight clash at UFC 73: “Stacked” on July 7, according to MMAFighting.com.
“Ken Flo” is coming off an exciting win over Dokonjonosuke Mishima — a bout Florian barely escaped because of a gruesome knee bar. He went on to submit the Japanese standout moments later in the third stanza via rear naked choke.
Robinson — nicknamed “Kid” — is the current lightweight champion for the Colorado-based Ring of Fire promotion. He’s riding a three-fight win streak and will be making his UFC debut at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif.
Prior to UFC 69 it was rumored that Robinson would take on Roger Huerta. However, that match up apparently fell through and Leonard Garcia got the nod, dropping a sensational unanimous decision.
From what I hear, Robinson is an extremely game opponent, ending most of his fights — five of them — via rear naked choke.
Looks like another solid addition to a solid UFC 73 fight card.

This card is getting crazy. I hope to God they show all nine fights. Alas, they wont. But I will never pony up for UFConDemand. Just gonna have to miss some.

Not live, but the undercard bouts are always on UFCOD.
Lets see if Kenflo has the same flow his last fight had. Definitely showed a bit more skill on his feet…
i hope they show this fight on the ppv, they usually show like 5 fights, that means silva vs. marquardt, tito vs. evans, sherk vs. hermes, big nog vs. herring, and this one, i also want to see bonnar’s return and i’d like to see lytle vs. joslin, i hope we get to see at least those 7 fights, either way its a great card and 74 is starting to look pretty good too…
this looks like a tough fight for kenny florian, but i think he looked really focused in his last fight and looked like his training couldn’t have been better, i think he’ll be ready for this kid and will come out looking even better if thats possible, if florian can win this fight and a couple more big ones he’ll get another title shot eventually, he gets better and better every fight…
I agree, Florian did look a hell of a lot better in his last fight. If he does the same, he should pull out an easy victory.
it depends on how long some of these fights last also, if they get to show all or most of them.
Florian is improving in every fight.He’s the type of guy that will come well prepared for every fight.I can see him becoming a major contender in the UFC.
Florian is fast becoming a weapon, he is focused.

kenflo is the man. im an even bigger fan because he reps Shoyoroll. i think he should get another shot at the title. sherk didnt finish him. hopefully if he wins this fight, a title shot is on the way.

Why hasn’t Ken Flo fought any bigger names to get a return title shot. Sherk ahs taken so damn long to defend, it would of been nice to see a Champ actually fight
I’ve been a huge fan of Alvin “Kid” Robinson for awhile now and have been fortunate enough to be able to see him fight four or five times. He’s gonna be a real challenge for Kenflo and this should be one helluva fight!!! Let’s go KID!!!
come on now Alvin robinson has a real sick ju jitsu game and the guy never gets tired well he is training. Ken leaves that leg out to much and i know this KID guys is not going to let him sit out there…. Kenny is not as good as everyone thinks he is if i was not a stacked 250 dude i would love to drop him…. go alvin sho this dude what is good….
