listen to what george says in the interview RIGHT AFTER the fight, pretty much the opposite of what he is saying now. I am a huge GSP fan, sucks he hasn't got his head right. Serra beat him fair and square and had an excellent strategy. And for everyone saying Serra got lucky or GSP slipped, he slipped while trying to get away from Serra because he almost got knocked the $%#& out, Serra took his time, picked his shots and finished perfectly

[...] I dunno if you heard, but apparently some guy named Georges said some stuff that made ultimate UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra angry. Now I wish i could comment on the stuff that Georges said, but honestly I can’t understand a word that guy says. I once asked him WTF was up with the ’s’ at the end of ‘George’ and he said ‘hurousssstttachhhaque fromage’ and I said ‘OK Georges’ and had sex with ten hot models. True story. [...]
listen people all of you.. This was a fight... It is NOT impossible for a better fighter to lose in an unpredictable sport like MMA...he got caught by a punch that would have stunned him no matter how much training...the only way he could have won is if he would rushed him w/ an array of punches and kicks, but that is not what a professional fight does. He first reads and times his opponent and then capitalizes on opportunity, which is what gsp was doing..his only fall back is that a fighter that is over confident does not feel the same type of adrenalin and alertness, so in that sense he lacked the hunger that matt serra had that night..gsp is still a great fighter and as long as he has heart he will remain a great fighter...(he does have heart)
One of the most intelligent comments on this page, I totally agree, very well said. With striking anything can happen, and taking an opponent lightly can be fatal. A kick boxing match isn't like a bench pressing contest, when there is no luck whatsoever involved. Like serra himself said you zig instead of zag and your nights over for you, too true. One mistake at a high level and its night over, if your opponent is on ball like serra was that night with so much to prove.

Hey another cool vid for us tonite. I know some of you guys have heard my feelings on Bas Rutten before. I just came across this clip from 98. Read the caption, then check it out. This is why he is my all time favorite mixed martial artist.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UF1SH-Th80E
This is the MMA I grew up with here in the States when I got back from Japan. Crazy scene.
