All the clicks and impressions from our readers have finally paid off:
UFCmania is proud to announce that we will sponsor UFC welterweight fighter Jon Fitch in his upcoming bout with Roan Carneiro at UFC Fight Night 10 on June 12.
In addition, we will continue our support for at least two more fights thereafter, and hopefully even more beyond that.
If you’ve ever visited this site with any frequency, it’s clear that we are unabashed Fitch fans. He’s one of the top talents in the 170-pound division that no one knows much about.
It’s our goal to help change that — no matter how small our contribution.
In addition to being a great fighter, Jon is also someone I know on somewhat of a personal level. In fact, we were recently dual bestmen at a mutual friend’s wedding.
Fitch knew him from wrestling at Purdue, and I happened to grow up with him.
Strange … but cool.
So not only are we sponsoring someone who we think is the best kept secret in the UFC, but also someone who is pretty damn chill.
This is something we’ve been tossing around for sometime now, and it was important for us to partner with not just any fighter. Thanks to your continued support, we were able to nail down a pretty big name that can contend for the title as soon as he’s given the chance.

I just want to point out that we don’t get paid to run this site. We’re reinvesting all the money we make on UFCmania back into the Web site so we can do some pretty cool things.
Our sponsorship of Fitch is just the beginning of hopefully great things to come.
Fitch is a pretty busy guy — in addition to training he also works part-time. We’ll do our best to get some exclusive updates from him throughout his training for Carneiro to pass along to UFCmania readers.

I agree that Fitch is still a little too unknown for the amount of talent he brings. I’ve only seen him in a couple of fights, but he dominated both. I think he’s ready for Sanchez. WIth a win over Sanchez, his stock would rise.

Hopefully UFN 10 will get some main-stream exposure for Fitch (he should be able to snag a good number of fans with some good exposure because of his ability and personality).
This is great news for both Fitch and UFCMANIA. All UFCMANIA (and fans) need to do now is bombard Silva with emails on who we want Fitch to fight next and maybe he’ll pull his head out of his nether region and give him a contention fight.

I think I’ve mentioned it numerous times. I don’t go too much into my personal situation, because quite frankly, you guys come here for UFC news — not to hear about me.
Just want to say thanks to everyone who commented, comments or has visited the site recently or in the past. We really couldn’t have done it without our readers. And the best part is, this is just the start.
It sounds corny, but as MTU stated, this is more about UFCmania and our community supporting Fitch — not just the handful of us here who manage the site. So I hope you guys continue to help out and spread the good word … it works.

Jon should either get Karo or Diego next. He had a great interview on Sherdog, and he stated that the UFC is finally on board with him. I’m glad to hear that they are taking care of him now. War Fitch!

Yeah Ficth looked pretty good from what i’ve seen. I hope we get to see him really thrown into the mix though, this seems like a step back for him. And im sure he will get a lot more publicicty now to, especially through this site. What is this like the third post all about him in less than a week?
