UFC Fight Night 10
Two weeks ago, we past along some news that a rematch between lightweights Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout would most likely take place at an upcoming UFC Fight Night.

At the time, we didn’t have a date. Well, it appears MMAWeekly.com has drilled it down to Saturday, June 9.

The location is yet to be determined.

UFC Fight Night 10 will join UFC 72 (June 16) and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 Finale (June 23), as the third event for the promotion that month.

Seems like April 2007 wasn’t just an anomaly in terms of UFC action.

I swear 10 Fight Nights have already took place, but at some point the numbering got screwed up. Here’s what I see for Fight Nights:

1 - 8/6/05 - Marquardt vs. Salaverry
2 - 10/3/05 - Loiseau vs. Tanner
3 - 1/16/06 - Silva vs. Sylvia
4 - 4/6/06 - Jardine vs. Bonnar
5 - 6/28/06 - Silva vs. Leben
6 - 8/17/06 - Sanchez vs. Parisyan
7 - 10/10/06 - Shamrock vs. Ortiz
8 - 12/13/06 - Riggs vs. Sanchez
9 - 1/25/07 - Salmon vs. Evans
10 - 4/5/07 - Guillard vs. Stevenson

Are people just not numbering Shamrock vs. Ortiz because it was bigger than your normal Fight Night, or is it something else that I’m missing?

7 - 10/10/06 - Shamrock vs. Ortiz

Not a fight night. This is what leads to all the confusion.

i like the fight nights if for nothing else to get myself fired up more for the ppvs that follow, i think spencer fisher should deal with stout this time around, although every time i bet on fisher he lets me down, but stout really really disappointed me against florian, but i guess it turns out florian is better than most of us thought, maybe i shouldn’t judge stout on that fight, everybody is allowed to have an off night i guess…with both guys coming off a loss hopefully we’ll see these guys letting it all hang out, and not both fighting not to lose two in a row, thats not the king’s style and i’m sure its not stout’s either, i think this’ll be a good fight, i’m looking forward to it, i predict 2nd rd. TKO for Spencer Fisher, long live the kind

I haven’t seen one former PRIDE fighter announced since the acquisition.

It’s finalized on May 1st, yet they haven’t put any of them on cards even up to UFC 72. You’d figure they would have been trying to promote them, or give them fights by now.

All we’ve seen is Heath and Cro Cop, who both were acquired before the Zuffa buyout.

Yeah Rampage has already fought Marvin Eastman as well though. The only one is NOG. But really all they have have gotten from pride are those four, NOG, CC, Rampage, and Heath Herring. All of them have already fought except NOG, who they JUST signed. Im still not sure what your getting at. They all have been on cards already.

Because they own the entire organization now and that means more than four fighters.

If you still don’t understand, I’ll leave it at that.

DirtyML Pride is still is being run as a seperate company. They are not going to just mix and match all of the time because they still want to keep some brand recognition. If you want to see all of the fantasy matchups, then you will have to wait for the “Super Bowl”. Until then I dont think Zuffa wants to rock the boat too much with Pride’s fan-base.

MMAWeekly.com has it rumored that Jon Fitch will be fighting Roan Carneiro (not a lot on the guy other than beating Rich Clementi by decision). Is this yet another kick in the face to Jon Fitch? Are they trying to use him as a stepping stone for everyone else or did he sleep with Dana White’s daughter or take a crap in Joe Silva’s morning coffee? I know that a lot of 170lb fighters are currently busy, but give the guy someone who people have heard of so that at least his name can get out to the casual fans. The man is undefeated in the UFC and been paying his dues to bad they had to pull his bags off the plane as he was leaving for TUF season 1 or we’d be seeing a lot more of him.

I figured they’d be introducing a few more fighters in the UFC that would be “better fits” on their style of cards. Now that they’ve unified the rules and changed the weight classes(for PRIDE), I’m sure some fighters will change weight classes and I’m sure some fighters will move to UFC.

I heard Shogun has a 2 fight PRIDE/ 2 fight UFC deal, so it was that kind of thing I was alluding to. That they’d be promoting a few fighters from PRIDE for some UFC shows and vice versas.

DirtyML, that is why I didnt understand, cuz apparetnly you dont, no offense. Pride is still a completely different org. Exactly as it was before. They cant just decide to fight in UFC. If fighters do move to UFC, they will have to do it in teh exact same way CC, Heath, NOG, and Rampage did it, and become full on UFC fighters, with UFC contracts.
Quote from Dana white “Shogun does NOT have a 2 and 2, but a four fight contract with Pride”
Other than that, MAHDE said it how it is, your not gonna see integrated match ups until THE event.
