My heart wants Randy to win but my mind says it might be Gonzaga. He's bigger, younger, and at least as deadly. Both are well rounded, both are good in stand-up and on the ground. I'll be rooting for Randy, but this is a very tough fight for Randy. Maybe if he were younger and fought Gonzaga in his early thirties I wouldn't be that afraid. I wish I were wrong on this one.

It seem's like a pretty even match up when it comes to each fighters ability. the only diff is, Gonzaga is is bigger and younger. Though Randy just took out Tim Silvia, it don't say much since Tim is no where near as athletic as Gonzaga. As a Fellow Brazilian, i natrually go with Gonzaga all the way. It's gonna be a great fight, but i have a good feeling about my boy winning.

Go Gonzaga!!

Gonzaga proved that anything can happen with that nasty head kick so I dont think that such a close fight can be called with a definite victor. Randy is smart, agile and just as good standing as he is on the ground. If he wins It will probably be standing and using angles like he did with Silvia. Gonzaga is a beast with heavy hands and heavier feet. I have never seen his ground and pound but hes got a BJJ background so lets just say hes good on the ground. Personally I dont see this fight going to the ground unless one of the fighters gets rocked and has to drop for defense. I cannot wait for this fight.

gonzaga is the
second best heavyweight in the world
just behind fedor and that fight would be
a toss up -couture is too old too slow
too small and has no offense to speak of
hell liddell knocked his sorry ass out twice
and liddell wouldnt even get in the octogon
with gonzaga this fight is a mismatch and
probably randys last hopefully
ive noticed that not to many if any people mentioned Fedor. who is by far the best fighter on the planet, in any weight devision. The man has never lost a fight in his career. Hes been prides world champ for 4 years now. his only loss, was in "rings" tournament, and 17 seconds into the fight, he got caught with an illegal elbow, which caused the fight to be stopped on a bad cut. since someone had to continue in the tournament, they gave the loss to Fedor. Now, i respect Randy a great deal, so does Fedor, which he said in his website. but to not mention this mans name, when talking about heavyweights in my opinion is a sin. this man has beaten the best, and fairly easily i might add. hes beaten nogeira 2x. and beaten him very easily. he beat cro cop at his own game and when he wanted to, took him down and pounded him. only man in mma history to make mark coleman tap. not to mention beating k1 champ mark hunt by submission in under 3 minutes, who would in my opinion would kill randy. but thats another story. i honestly don't see randy or gonzago even lasting a round with Fedor. if randy got fedor down, then what, lol. are u going to ground and pound fedor, think again. Fedor will ground and pound u out as fast as he will submitt u, just ask randys buddy Matt linland. lol.
Coleman has been submitted by other guys. Fedor lost by cut just like Randy vs Vitor. Fedor beat the best guys by decision ( like CC, Nog, Arona ...), I can think of an easier way to win like , DOMIATING CC and then kicking his head off like the guy(GG) you think won't last 1 round with Fedor. I can't wait till Fedor gets tired of fighting cans and MWs (his last three fights) and comes to the UFC and takes a couple of beatings, just to silence the nuthuggers. I like Fedor, just can't stand the nuthuggers.
Man it is tough to say Randy will not wins this fight. The only way he doesnt is if he gets caught with a luky kick or strike. Now let me know how many guys Gonzaga has knocked out? I know of 1 that looked pretty dam good!!! But realy he is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guy. This means he will be on his back most of the fight taking elbows and fists from Randy. And trying to tap out Randy is going to be hard as hell. The only chance Gonzaga has is to keep it on there feet and through that killer kick to the head.
Bottom Line Randy will ground Gonzaga to a T.K.O...
You want to know how many guys GG has Ko'd , 3 out of his last 4 fights and the other win was by submission. His other 4 wins are by submission (1 was sub by strikes). All of his wins are by (T)KO or sub . He's more than just a BJJ guy, he is very well rounded. I'm hoping Randy wins, but I think GG will be his toughest fight. If it goes past the 3rd round I think Randy's conditioning will be the deciding factor.

I workout with Gonzaga & he looks pretty good. He seems very relaxed & confident about this fight. He's training with some good wrestlers & doing alot of boxing and muay thai along with his crazy jiu jitsu. I don't see Randy winning on the ground. Gonzaga is very relaxed and active there. Not like Tim Silvia who just holds guard. I think Randy will try to keep it on the feet and tire him out with jabs and combos, but Gonzaga has been pushing his cardio very hard. My concern is that he might overtrain for Randy. I've seen him laydown in the middle of the gym for a half hour or so after groups of guys (top jiu jitsu guys) go 2 mins each with him without letting him rest and send in a fresh guy (for 20 or 25 minute). Only one guy got him down but Gonzaga tapped him out within 2-3 seconds

well i myself am grappling fan so this matchup is a dream granted i'm leaning towards couture, gonzaga is very formidable foe(just ask cro cop). They're both grapplers and that will be they're undoing, for those who don't know grappling is very physically demanding(conditioning is crucial). Both Randy and Gabe both have their grappling credentials, so both fighters will pretty much end up stale mating each other. Gonzaga however has a nasty leg kick while couture is phenomenal in a clinch so both areas will be of fighting will be interesting. I want Randy to win but hey everyone gets a lucky hit. In my eyes, you have to ask yourself which will win wrestling or brazilian ju jitsu
