“We are doing this fight in the U.K. and then we’re going to do a fight in Ireland and from there we’ll be expanding into Spain, Italy and Germany. The whole idea is that you move the show around. Las Vegas will still be the hot spot, where most of the big fights take place. But beyond that, the challenge is to grow globally.”

– Majority owner of the UFC, Lorenzo Fertitta, talks about the planned international expansion of his promotion in a recent Q&A with the Las Vegas Sun along with UFC President Dana White.

I think it’s great they are expanding. And Paul I read recently that Dana said something about coming to Canada soon.

it is a great thing that they’re planning to expand into europe. but i think they shouldnt forget about canada or mexico. i know that in mexico the ufc is really taking off. there is a weekly ufc show on tv-azteca. its pretty much an ultimate knockouts type of show. but nonetheless,a lot of ppl watch the show. i also think they should go to brasil again, maybe if gonzaga defs. couture, maybe gonzaga could have his first title defense shot in brasil. i think overall, ufc 70 was a great hit. the fans seemed to be very excited and receptive of the fighters. so now we all just need to sit back and see where on the globe the ufc will head to.

I agree with pretty much everyone here…I like the fact that they are expanding…yeaaaah i guess good for white & ferrita brothers raking in more $$$. But what about us US folks?? Big woop the event last night was free, but with all the damn commericals and dry humping in fight one, it took 45 mins….Keep the fights in Vegas and let them watch it at all f$= up hours of the night/day.

UFCmania…any update on cro cop’s knee/ankle? I think after he finally realizes what happened and he got KTFO he’ll be like aaahh my knee does hurt a lot. He probably had a pounder of a headache this morning…Lemme know if you hear updates on the injury…thx.

Now I really hope GG beats Randy and Franca beats Sherk. The UFC is gonna be so unmarketable to Americans with every champion unable to speak English. ( I’m from the South, cant understand Serra at all, and Liddell just mumbles ;) ).
I posted before that DW didnt know A Silva didnt speak english when he signed and panicked over it when he beat Franklin. It’s only getting worse for him. Once Shogun takes the 205 crown, DW’s gonna have a heartache.

Shogun is good, a contendar, but overated a bit. Only credible wins are rampage, overeem, and randleman.
Not the same level at all as the current liddell.
Man there is NOBODY that can compete with him in the LHW right now. Am I the only one that thinks Hendo would have a better chance than Shogun or Wandi? Am I just crazy?
Whatever the case no current UFC’er has a chance.

You’re an idiot. Have you forgoten that Arlovski arguably the most popular fighter in the UFC behind Lidell when he was the champ and his English isn’t exactly spectacular. Lidell not marketable because he mumbles? Last time I checked he’s by far the most popular fighter in all of MMA. And if you can’t understand Serra it is most likely you that can’t speak English.

I agree that the ppv are getting pricey, but what were we to expect. Going global like this is great news overall. It will attract more talent. This way we really see great fights and find out who the best in the world is. Wow! I still can’t believe CC got knocked the hell out in that fashion. It will also attract more fans, and expand the sport out. International fans are good. For the most part the rest of the world has been more involved than the U.S. but the UFC will expose that. That’s what I like. I won’t like the tape delays, and stuff like that but it’s livable. Good news but I will also miss the events being so close to me here on the Westcoast. Love to go to fights live

I don’t care what language a fighter speaks as long as hes good and doesn’t just fight not to lose.

Well it’s a pretty simple plan for UFC to come to Canada. Matt Hughes beats Matt Sera(even though I want Sera to knock that country hick the fuck out). GSP fights Koshcheck and destroys him because GSP has something to prove all over again. Then we have GSP vs. Matt Hughes 3 in Montreal. Sounds pretty simple almost as simple as Cro Cop winning last night.

It looked nasty in the fall but when he walked out he walked just fine. I was sitting/standing just where every fighter walked out after all the fights, just meters from the opening where they come in and out. Dosnt mean that it isnt hurt in anyway but he walked out on his own.

Shogun is more than able to take it to liddell. I also aggre with the one early that said Hendo would have a good chance.
But after the past couple of months I wouldnt be surprized if Ross Pointon is the LHW Champ by the end of the year. JJ of course!

Ufc in Europa is great! Im gonna go to northern Ireland to support Martin Kampmann but i think he should cut to 170 class, there he could be a real deal! But who knows…Everybody seems to loose, one thing for shure. The only man you can bet you money one is Fedor!

Lets not make fun of the way serra talks or liddell, thats absurb. Why does it matter if a fighter talks english or not? Thats what so great about the sport. World-wide the best fighters are coming together to give us the fans, the best fights possible. And just look at the last 3 events, just jaw dropping.

Whos to say that nog even has to go up against liddell…no offence but liddell vs jackson comes 1st and with all the upset and the fact that jackson beat him once before couldnt it be a big possibility NOG vs JACKSON.
