ufc 69 meet st pierre serra coutureI just want to quickly pass along some more UFC 69-related news that was also included in the recent Houston Chronicle article.

On Friday, April 6, official weigh-ins for the event will take place at Root Memorial Basketball Court, which is located directly across from Toyota Center, from 2-4 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Fighters will step on the scales at approximately 3 p.m.

According to UFC.com, there’s nothing scheduled to air on SpikeTV that day. Therefore, the weigh-ins will most likely once again be available via streaming video online.

We’ll share more details about that when we know more.

In the meantime, here’s the UFC 69 fight card:

170 lb: Georges St. Pierre (13-1) vs. Matt Serra (8-4)
170 lb.: Diego Sanchez (17-0) vs. Josh Koscheck (8-1)
185 lb.: Mike Swick (10-1) vs. Yushin Okami (19-3)
185 lb.: Kendall Grove (7-3) vs. Alan Belcher (9-2)
155 lb.: Roger Huerta (16-1-1) vs. Leonard Garcia (9-1)
185 lb.: Thales Leites (9-1) vs. Pete Sell (7-2)
170 lb.: Pete Spratt (15-7) vs. Marcus Davis (10-3)
Hvywt.: Heath Herring (26-21) vs. Brad Imes (3-2)

My thoughts exactly, escept I think the Swick fight will last at least late into the 2nd. I think the Hearing fight will be a nasty KO.

MMA Dude the reason why i picked diaz 1st rnd ko is because his boxing is sick as it is and on top that hes been working with Oscar Dela Hoya with his boxing just wasnt sure if that would change your mind

no man didnt change my mind…his boxing is irrelevant i think…the only way Diego gets a KO is with a Knee…via Ficket, or their first fight where Diego kept Tatooing his forehead with the knees, if he gets the chin instead of forehead then lights out KOS….Kos is just to go of a wrestler, if Diego comes out throwing hands, he will get taken down quicker…I think it will stay on the ground for the most part, and Diego will get the decision becuase of aggression…unless Kos can blanket and not get submitted

Curious if anyone has seen Haynes @ 170. He had a ton of loose skin @ 205 and 185, just wonderin if he’s toned up any or just lost more fat. If its the latter he is going to look grose!

I’m with MMA Dude, I don think much of anyone thinks Grove and Swick are at the same place. Swick is right in the top 10 middleweights in the world and Grove probably wouldnt make top 25.

yeah Grove is good fighter, however, not on a “contender” level just yet. He needs some experience….

good picks tha spider, I agree but dont think Swick or Imes will go to a decision, but I agree with the winners.
I say both by KO – Rd 2

Heath and Imes should be a slugfest, sux that it probably wont be televised though

yeah i dont’ know why i think imes is gonna win this one without having a fight in the last year, i just think he’s gonna take herring straight to the ground and out muscle him, i think he’s gonna be scared to get knocked out and he’s gonna lay and pray…as for swick and okami i’m sure one will get laid out, i don’t know why i picked dec. maybe because i think both guys are gonna be scared to lose too

I agree with 2 exceptions.
Okami will annihilate Swick. Swick is very overrated.
And I think Belcher takes the decision win over Grove.
I am hoping Huerta can start making a name for himself. I’ve never heard of his opponent so, who knows. But, Huerta will be a force at 155.

Will all of these fights be on pay per view? It will suck if they only show 6 of the 9.

kb the UFC never shows all of there fights on a PPV. I am curious as to which ones will be broadcast. Anyways here’s my predictions.
GSP KO 1st.
Sanchez KO 2nd
Swick KO 2nd
Grove 3rd Sub
Huerta 2nd Sub
Leites Split Dec.
Davis Split Dec.
Herring KO 2nd
Cummo Sub 3rd

Man, I cant wait to see the Herring – Imes fight…
Sloppy heavyweights at their finest!

If Imes has improved since Rashad (which I doubt) might be somewhat entertaining. But then again Herring is a waste of speedo.
