UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk, as well as former titleholders Rich Franklin and Tim Sylvia, will be in Miami, Florida, on March 31 to promote the debut event for the Panther Fight League (PFL).
The fighters will be on hand at 5:30 p.m. (the first bout starts at 7:00 p.m.) at the James L Knight Center to sign autographs and meet with fans, according to the Web site.
Marcus “Conan” Silveira — a UFC veteran from the early days — will be featured in the main event against Jonathan Ivey. In addition, several American Top Team (ATT) fighters, who train at the headquarters in Coconut Creek, will be in attendance and fighting on the 12-bout card.
Tickets for PFL 1: Genesis are extremely cheap, ranging from $20 to $120. And, if supporting local talent and meeting some UFC fighters isn’t enough reason to show up, a portion of ticket sales will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD).
