Better play baseball
A rookie for just being in the dogout without playing any second in the complete season wins $300,000.

Start playing baseball instead of MMA.

Those payouts are horrendous! As much money as the UFC is generating for themselves, and that's all they pay their fighters. And any money paid to the fighters by sponsors shouldn't have anything to do with what the UFC pays them. There are only a hand-full of fighters that are lucky enough to get paid any real kind of money via a "sponsorship contract". Look at any other major sport(even boxing)...they aren't being paid extremely low salaries just because a few of them get sponsorship deals. I realize that their salaries have gone up a good amount compared to where they were, but it looks like they still haven't kept pace with the success of the UFC as an organization. Someone is making an incredible amount of money, and it sure isn't the fighters! I can see a "MMA Fighter Association/Union" being formed in the near future if this discrepancy continues. These guys often have short-term careers, despite training their entire life just to make it to the UFC. In my opinion, they should be awarded accordingly!

You all must realize the politics involved in payouts. Who is the biggest sponsor of UFC fighters? Xyience. Who do you think owns Xyience? The same people who own the UFC. Employee salary is not tax deductible, but advertising costs are. These fighters are paid a lot more then it looks.

On another note, the UFC has ALWAYS had a pay system based on experience. Yeah it is kinda crappy that Hughes was paid more then Franklin, but look at the figures. Hughes has 41 wins and 5 Losses compared to Franklin's 21 and 2 record. Hughes has double the fights, he has a lot more title defenses and has held the belt a lot longer. Like it or not he deserves more then Franklin.

Maybe I am wrong, but those figures, isn't that what the fighters get above and beyond their already negociated contracts? For example, when Randy came out of retirement, Dana said he signed a 4 fight 2 year deal contract. So is that $250,000 Randy got after the fight above the contract salary? It just doesn't seem like enough of a cash payout for someone of the likes of Randy Couture.

Help me out Ufcmania or Jesse!

BTW... Jesse, your interview with GSP was phenomenal and funny!

Lytle has definitley shown talent. The "great" Hughes was shutdown, as far as what did he show?-- I'm going to hold this guy down and hurry up and win decision. I hope the UFC relizes that the $ should be on Lytle. He can't be done yet! He is obviously WELL ROUNDED, to stifle the ground game of the "champ" so give him another fight. Hughes needs to go back to wrestleing not MMA. I didn't see and MIXED martial arts!
