I had the opportunity to roll with Luigi when he was with Gracie-Barra Orlando and I was a total BJJ noob and he couldn’t have been more helpful and willing to work with me. I was sad to see him leave. I really hope he’s successful at 170. He’s great for the sport.

Hughes and Fitch would be ridiculuous. Would make much more sense for us but probably not good business. They probably want to build Hughes back up with a dominating performance.

Would it be possible to get the same question into all the interviews? I really want to know if fighters prefer the cage or ring. And I also want to know what ruleset they prefer. I personally like the cage with elbows and knees on the ground. I hate soccer kicks and stomps. Anyway great interview. Can’t wait for this fight.

I’m glad he’s confident. I really thought he should be fighting Lytle and Hughes should be fighting Fitch on this card, but I’m not a matchmaker.

great article, and yeah its a great mma piece, not a political one, you were right on there…now as far as the fight, it was mentioned in the article that these guys are both very agressive, thats always makes for a good fight, whether they are on there feet or the ground…nick diaz vs karo, Forrest vs bonnar…when you put two agressive guys in a fight its either 3 rounds of non stop action, or a highlight real KO…they need to show this fight!!

During our conversation about his experiences in Iraq I didn’t pry too much at all. I didn’t press for anything because he was reluctant to open up about it at first … he opened up a little bit more as we went along. I took that as a sign that maybe it wasn’t something he wanted to dwell on very much, which I can understand. I also didn’t want to turn this into a polical piece on his views on the situation. My intention was to get some solid background info on his unique experience without creating an awkward situation. I wasn’t out for blood and guts. And I don’t think he would’ve talked about it if I was.
