I really have no problem with the guy….I just think that when the heavyweight division gets some more depth hes going to be in serious trouble. Theoretically if he and Arlovski fought 50 times who would come out the victor more? IMO Andrei is the better man and would take at least 75% if not more of the fights.Therefore if there were more “a” level fighters in heavyweight he would be hard pressed to keep that belt.Monson is not a good example.

Hey spida your correct but i think overall Andrei is better.Remember who was on there back first in the last fight…I think when Tim’s head hit the mat it woke him up and also that last fight was stopped too soon but Andrei took it like a man and didn’t complain. Sylvia is a good guy but goofy. He is not that good of a fighter but he is so big that gives him a huge advantage. I’m an Arlovski guy and believe he can beat Tim S again. He proved he can drop Tim S with a single punch more than once, just wasn’t sure what his fighting plan was the third time they fought.

AA has a confidence problem, not a hands problem, guys. That is VERY hard to fix, and KOing Pe De Pano and gonna fix it. I truly believe AA will shit himself if he is in the same cage as Mirko or Werdum.

To Tim’s credit, he’s never been KO’d properly and he fought a clever (but bloody boring) 3rd fight with AA.

To his DIScredit though he’s just NOT exciting to watch aka Liddell/CroCop/George StPierre etc. And SURELY CroCop will rip him to shreds. I just can’t see Tim taking his high kicks and if you look at CC training on youtube, you’ll see he has NO probs kicking at least as high as Tim’s temple

I hope BRandon Vera re-signs with UFC as he’s talking about dropping down to LHW once he’s tried to win the HW title (can’t see him tackling CC but would be a good fight) I think Vera/Liddell would be a cracking fight. Vera’s got decent skills AND hits harder than he looks like he could.

Tim is in a no-win situation. If he looses to Couture then all you will hear is “I told you so” from everybody and if he wins he will have beaten a beloved 43yr old guy. Yeah, he’s boring to watch but a win is a win and he can’t help it if the HW division is down. Cut him some slack. After all, like it or not he is the Champ and has defended his title. Just my opinion.

You can’t judge a fighter just because they don’t have 1st round KO’s. I don’t care how long it takes, fighting is about as as close to justice as you get. A win is a win. Whoever wins was the better fighter at that time. Right now, Tim is the best, he’s beaten fighters, including AA, who is a great fighter, so we can’t say that Tim hasn’t beat anyone of merit, and he has defended his title. Maybe he’s not as exciting as some of the other strikers, but the reason we think that is because we expect a huge man like him to get in there and pound on people instead of actually implementing any kind of strategy like he does. Cro Cop on the other hand, has only fought one person in the UFC, and it was a guy who didn’t have even 10 fights underneath his belt. I don’t care what he’s done in pride, you can’t try and compare the two organizations. You just can’t. Unless they are consistently fighting each othe you cannot compare them. So for me, IN THE UFC, cro cop is unproven, and tim is established. That being said ufc heavyweight doesn’t have a whole lot of depth, hopefully something that will change with all these new fighters. Until then, I withold judgement of either sylvia or cro cop.

Man, I dont know why everyone is so hard on Tim. It reminds me of being in school and picking on the fat kid, everyone makes a game of it. The trueth is no one knows Sylvia personally, and if they did I bet hes a pretty good shit. I think maybe they should have him help announce a few fights on spike. I do not think Tim is that great of fighter as much as it is his size is overwheelming in the ring. Although he proved he had a decent ground game with Munson, i do no think he will be a hang with a heavy weight like Crop Cop. Those kicks that Crop Cop rains wil close up the reach gap. He also needs to watch for Gonzaga. That is a big man on the mat to roll with; he has quick transitions and take downs, he is strong, and has great BJJ skills. He is also lightning quick.

When you think of UFC who comes to mind?? Chuck, Tito, GSP, Franklin. There’s a reason why major sponsors back these individuals because they’re marketable. Chuck’s a fucking rockstar. Sick cars, a sweet house and a bad ass attitude. Tito’s controversial, the biggest mouth in the Octagon, and he sticks his penis inside one of the most recongnizable adult film stars. GSP has a great attitude, he’s young, and well respected. Rich also holds alot of marketable properties which include the fact that he’s an intelligent guy, strong work ethic, and chicks think he’s smoking.

You see the Xyence commercials where a dramatization of UFC fighters sharing they’re insecurities, more or less exposing a weird sensitive side. Well I think honestly Tim’s skit was an extention of his life.

Ask anyone who works in media and they’ll tell you that even bad publicity is good publicity, because obviously you’re still getting exposure. Tim may be a weird guy, but he’s got everybody on this blogs attention.
