ufc 68 fighters
Each time the UFC builds a microsite for an upcoming pay-per-view event I fill out the request to be “notified” when the sites are complete.

Guess what?

I just checked the site for the March 3 show in Columbus, Ohio, and it looks finito. And, I never received any notice.

I’m not surprised — I’ve never received anything from them despite providing my email address numerous times.

Whatever.

I’ll still pimp their product, because it has some good stuff about UFC 68: “The Uprising,” which is just about two weeks away.

Tim Sylvia, Randy Couture, Rich Franklin, Jason MacDonald, Matt Hughes and, of course, UFC President Dana White all have things to say about their upcoming matches.

Franklin and Hughes seem to be fired up, with “Ace” stating, “I will knock Jason out in the first round.” And, both go into detail about their most recent losses.

For some reason Chris Lytle — Hughes’ opponent — is the only one of the fighters on the main card who doesn’t get any face time. And, White, Sylvia and Hughes all pretty much intimate that his chances of winning aren’t that good.

Gee whiz … then why schedule the fight in the first place?

Sarcasm aside, check out the Web site when you have some time.

I respect Rich Franklin as a man for his love of country and what he has done for our troops, but he is the MOST overrated champion of the Dana White years. He is trying hard to sell himself and this fight. If ya’ll UFC only fans dont know who the newly signed Lyoto Machida is, here’s a taste.
Rich Franklin vs Lyoto Machida video
When the UFC bought out WFA, it wasnt just for Herring and Rampages contracts. It was also for Machida’s. The dude is a BEAST.

MorethanUfc, i dont think rich is ovverated at all. As we know, Silva is a bad dude, and Rich wasnt expecting his strength, a bad menatl error…as far as Machada, hes a good fighter, beating rich at 205, other credintials…Stephan Bonnar?, BJ Penn at 205?, A very lack luster fight against sam hogar?? Dont count Rich out because of that loss, he has done a lot of amazing things in the octagon since then, he is definately one of the best fighters in all of MMA. and for you to not think so is kind of naive..Everyone loses fights, Rich hasnt ever made any excuses as to why he lossed…the dude loves to fight and fights injured a lot, and thats what sells fights to people, how he loves the sport and also is a great guy that the majority of fans root for

MacDonald does look vulnerable to strikes. I was holding my breath during his Leben fight.

But, Franklin looked scared fighting Silva. What goes on between the ears is the most important aspect of any fight.

MacDonald by submission, third round. It will be a war!

ummm, no this one is staying up on the feet…Herman wanted to go to the ground, Lebens takedown defense isnt near as good as franklins, faces are decieving, but if he was scared of silva, why would that mean he would be scared of McDonald??? Rich, KO, early

We’re talking about the 185 pound division. Who cares if Rich lost at 205. The question is, How is Rich doing mentally? Some people never recover in their heads after a beat down. Look at David Loiseau. he was moving on up, Rich beat him down for 5 rounds and he aint been right since. Just got beat down on another shows card. He lost something in that fight with Rich. I just hope Rich didn’t lose something against Silva ’cause i want to see a rematch

Rich might not be making excuses for the Silva fight but Dana White sure is. Have you seen him on the UFC 68 site? “Something was wrong with Rich…that isn’t the Rich I know.” Talk about taking away the power of Silva’s decisive beatdown. Rich’s two defenses were against Nate Quarry and David Loiseau. Not exactly the top tier he was being fed there.

MMADude, I am in now way only calling RF as overrated based on the Silva fight, though I was the only guy in the room picking Silva. The only real competition he has ever faced was Machida and Silva, both losses. Closest to that was The Crow, Louiseau(?), and that was a decision ( yeah, I know his hand was in three pieces ). But the rest? Dewees? Shamrock? Quarry? Tanner? Tanner woulda eaten him alive in his prime. Rich gained a name beating guys under his league or over the hill. When he faced guys at the same point in their careers, losses. Rich is a great guy, but having no proper upbringing in MMA other than in his garage has begun to show. I think he will still beat B to A- level talent, but he aint ever gonna beat the likes of A Silva, Henderson, Lindland, or Mosaki. And I’m telling you, MacDonald is a late bloomer. He finally has a good camp, and is FINALLY focusing on his own strengths and not those of his opponents.

just don’t see how Mcdonald can deal with Franklin strength. Mcdonald will get “CRUSHED” round 1.

McDonald a late bloomer?/finally at a good camp..That contradicts everything you said about Rich..sure he started training in his shed, but since then he has travelled around to the toughest camps in america…Greg jackson camp doesnt qualify yet..As far as Tanner beating Rich in his prime, rich dominated tanner in richs first ufc fight, tanner hadnt even become champion yet…And Tanners ground game is far superior to Mcdonalds..Machida doesnt count as a top guy yet im sorry, his biggest win was against Rich, who you say isnt at the top of the food chain…I agree that sometimes peoples heads get crazy after a big loss, like loiseau, but rich hasnt even fought yet, just dont count him out….look what he did after the Machida loss. As far as the other 185s you mentioned…Henderson is ligit, Silva ligit, Lindland not so much, Misaki..gets a lot of decisions on home turf that he doesnt quite deserve

haha, yeah a little to copy my friend. Just a healthy disagreement about a sport we both love. But, no, I still dont see Rich as top of the food chain material. Not til he beats someone who IS at the top of the food chain. Not saying he cant be, but he just isnt yet, imo.

Rich Franklin would’ve easily knocked Ed Herman’s ass out in the first round. Against Chris Leben, it might’ve gone to a decision but Leben would’ve looked like Ross Pointon after a fight against, well, anybody.

Franklin will crush MacDonald in a first-round TKO.

MacDonald looked like he was fighting underwater against Leben – his movements were slow and sluggish. He may have stayed out of range of a Leben bomb but Rich has much crisper strikes and can work combinations. Think of Evan Tanner’s face after he fought Franklin and you’ll get an idea of what MacDonald will look like at the end of Round 1.

Hey, I got a question for all of you to answer. Why the fuck is it called UPRISING with Couture, Franklin, Lytle, and Hughes? Poopy is there already, and MacDonald is the only one uprising. Shouldn’t it be called UFC68 Comeback, or UFC68 IHopeIStillGotIt or UFC68 We’vHadConcussions or UFC68 BetterThanUFC67WhenYouHadNothingToWatch? Create your own, it’s kinda fun!

That is a good question morethanufc. I myself believe it should be called ‘the comeback’ and have every since I found out the line up was a bunch of recently beaten fighters needing comebacks and one coming outta retirement wanting a comeback. Gotta even admit I’m not overly excited about ufc67. That being said I will still be tuned in!!!

rich is a good fighter and was a good champ but i just dont think he will ever be on that whole other level like chuck, cro cop, fedor, silva. he should win his next fight but if i was bettin i would stay away from this fight the upset could very well happen it should be a good one

I agree the name Uprising doesn’t fit the show. I hate how the UFC goes for who they can market instead of who can fight. At least this card looks better than UFC 70 Manchester. That looks like the worst card possible ever

CALLING THE SHOW UPRISING EXPOSES THE DON KING SCAM

If you think about it, calling the show “Uprising” exposes the UFC’s trick to squeeze more money out fans.

Don’t get me wrong, I love watching UFC fights, and other MMA organizations like Pride and IFL, but the UFC keeps having lop sided fights, too build up some fighters so more people will pay to watch that fighter. The fighters become unbeatable in the minds of the fans that see they have not been beaten in “4 fights”, or “he knocked out his last 7 of 8 opponents”.

STYLES MAKE FIGHTS

The next time you hear, “Styles make fights”, know that the promoters who know styles also know the likelihood of who’s going to win. And if you know who’s going to win, at different events during the year, and you set up those events, and you map out who’s you will shepherd to be a superstar, what’s the difference between Don King and the promoter?

Uprising = Orwellian double-speak. Politicians use it daily – so does Dana.

somebody mentioned that Mcdonald looked sluggish against leben..and to me leben looked fat and out of shape, even for leben..if you think rich will be out of shape and that easy to control in the second round you dont know what youre talking about…now as far as the pay per view goes, i thinks its good in the eyes of your average UFC fan..The heavy weight champ against the greatest person to ever step foot in the octagon..that alone sells tickets…the greatest welterweight champ of all time fighting the guy who lossed a contreversial decision to the guy who gets a title shot…a former middlewieght champ in his first fight back against a guy who beat his last two highly regarded fighters…after silva beat leben he got a title shot, so mcdonald beats leben he gets a shot at the former champ…makes sense to me, i am looking forward to watching this ppv
