It would be retarded because sooner or later, the 'kuza can find a way to get a piece of the action. Dana can be working with the cleanest mothers on the planet and even they wouldn't know that a couple guys under them are working for the "gumis".

That and the fight scene over there is about stagnate. Think about it. One promotion is dying slow and hard while the other promotion can't even form a proper division or keep a champion for a month. What makes you think a gaijin league is going to revitalize the fight game over there?

I'm not sure why the UFC going after the second largest MMA market in the world would be "retarded", especially when PRIDE are on their heels. Not only are the fans more knowledgeable about the sport, MMA is actually considered a mainstream sport in Japan (unlike in the US) and garners huge TV numbers.

Cro Cop got front page sports news headlines and pictures in Japan for his UFC fight. What kind of press did he garner here? Nothing.

If anything, it would be retarded for the UFC to ignore Japan and focus their efforts solely on countries like Mexico and Great Britain where there is currently little mainstream support for MMA.

Perhaps the fighters being BOOED has something to do with it. Maybe other markets will help show the home crowd some more respect for the fighters.

If he tries to pull this off this year, it'll be the most retarded thing he's done since Gannon/Hinkle.
