The on-again off-again three-round boxing exhibition match between UFC president Dana White and UFC light heavyweight MMA fighter is still on, according to a report today from MMAWeekly.com.
We’ve been following this bizarre contractual stipulation for months. (For more information click here and here.) And, we’re not sure why.
But, we feel obligated to once again give you the latest update.
Here’s a snip from “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy”:
“It’s going to happen next year, for sure. A lot of people out there will be waiting to see me beat up on Dana for once. I can’t wait to do it either. I still love Dana a lot. He has helped me out a whole bunch, but that match is still in dire need.”
Tito, of course, has bigger things on his plate right now. He’s in the midst training to fight Chuck Liddell at UFC 66 on December 30 for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Neil Davidson of the Canadian Press recently caught up with Tito in the mountains of Big Bear, California, where the former champ is getting ready for a war.
Here’s a snip from Tito:
“I’m going to take him [Liddell] down, I’m going to punch him in his face…. I’m just going to try to just brutalize Liddell and see what type of person he really is when he gets a beatdown.”
Good Lord, December 30 cannot come soon enough. The White-Ortiz showdown … not so much.
