In fact, I would even say Tito Ortiz, whose stamina is top rated in MMA, would struggle wrestling in the WWE, working 250 out of 365 days a year.

To answer you question on if Kurt could take Liddell or Tito now. The answer is NO. World Class wrestlers and ground and pound fighters like Tito, and Couture didn’t last very long with the current Chuck form. His takedown defense is world class. Never the less, if Angle decided to train for MMA, and work with a good solid camp, he could possibly be a champion. Will he? As time ticks by, he just gets older and that is very doubtful. In past interviews with former UFC champ and hall of famer Ken Shamrock, when asked what was harder, fighting or wrestling in the WWE. His answer was pro wrestling.

I think we should forget about Angle, and focus on former WWE champion and National Collegiate champion Brock Lesnar, who is currently training with Royce Gracie, and going to debut for K1 very soon. There is a man with the proper training, that can be a legend someday.

I don’t think I need to say this, everyone here should already know this, but you’re an idiot. Swick may not yet be in title contention, but is certainly better then Leben. Jason McDonald never had a prayer against Rich Franklin, let alone Anderson Silva. Franklin Vs. Silva will be soon, and Franklin will be champ again. Sanchez is not a match for GSP, but it would be interesting to see him fight Chris Lytle or Mat Hughes. And Kurt Angle would just be a joke to the UFC, sorry to say. Kick Liddell’s but??? Come on!

You need to understand the evolution of MMA. There was a time ground was dominant, ie Royce Gracie, then cam stand up, ie Tank Abbot and Victor Belfort, then back to ground, ie Mat Hughes, now is the time once again for stand up, ie GSP and Cro Cop. I disagree, GSP did take some punches the first round, but controlled BJ the rest of the fight. BJ’s good I’ll agree but the guy hasn’t showed up for a fight in the UFC in shape since his 155lbs days. He needs management big time, i thought he was his best 5-6 years ago when he was knocking people out and pushing the pace. I do like BJ though expecially after his radio interview, sounds really mature and composed. I hope he turns it around.

I wished they gave swick a title shot against Anderson Silva already. I think hes got a good chance since hes well rounded in muy thai, and he knows how to break those types of clinches. If they give Rich another shot he better start working his ground game and submission capabaility alot more than what anyone has seen, then maybe he can retain his belt against Anderson, comprende, cuss hes not gonna win on the feet, also I beleive Mirko should be able to spank Arlovski but you never know Arlovski gots a punchers chance, if Dana White brought Fedor Emilanenko to the UFC i beleive he could beat chuck and anybody else in the heavy weight division. this might not look like the sexiest ppv except for the main event, but i think there are gonna be some good ass fights at 71, karo always makes it interesting and same with leban and jardine, and the martin salaverry fight is a good test for each guy against someone with a different style, not the biggest stars in the ufc, but the guys on this card love to bang and always put on a show, it should be worth it for sure, i just hope chuck doesn’t lose…

What all of these fighters have that Kurt Angle doesn’t have is that they have spent years if not a decade training on mixing their styles to compete in the octagon… the most well rounded fighter wins, as you can see wrestling doesn’t do it all when you can’t take the fight to the ground(Hughes vs St. Pierre)… chuck Liddell’s dangerous punching power and take down defense would be more than enough to take Kurt Angle out… Tito Ortiz is very dangerous from guard and mount, he would easily take Kurt out as well… just because you’re a good wrestler doesn’t mean you’ve paid the price for the 1000’s of situations that can hand you a loss in a mixed martial arts match. Wrestling doesn’t win in the UFC, it lets you control the match. you still have to have the submission skills or the one-hitter-quitter’s to get the job done, one piece to the puzzle doesn’t do it for you. Gabriel Gonzaga looks like one of the best fighters to come up, he’ll give Couture a run for his money… Couture is very good at adjusting to his opponents styles so that fight will be interesting enough. Actually St.Pierre and Chuck are very good wrestlers who happen to be great strikers. It’s because of their wrestling Matt and Tito couldn’t take them down . A pure wrestler doesn’t consistantly win in the UFC but without wrestling as part of your game, your done when you go up against a wrestler.
