Ultimate Fighting Championship and Trifecta Entertainment have forged a syndication deal – a first for both companies – according to The Hollywood Reporter and TVWeek.com.
Here’s a snip from the Reporter:
“‘UFC Wired’ will feature the organization’s [UFC] most compelling athletes, thrilling battles and over-the-top action from the most action-packed and formidable UFC competitions.”
Believe it or not, Joe Rogan has also signed on to host of the show.
Trifecta will offer 22 hour-long episodes available for broadcast during the 2007-08 a “full-barter” basis.
Dana White had this to say:
“We are confident that our first entry into the syndication marketplace will give existing fans an inside look at our world as well as bring in a whole new audience that can experience the UFC for the first time.”
Essentially, Trifecta will market the new weekly series to major studios across the nation, capitalizing on the popularity of mixed martial arts among men aged 18 to 39 to pull in even more fans.
With “UFC Wired,” the UFC adds another program to its stable of other television programs such as “Inside the UFC,” “UFC Unleashed,” “UFC Fight Night” and “UFC All Access.” However, “UFC Wired” won’t be exclusive to SpikeTV like the other series.
