There’s a solid feature story in the San Francisco Chronicle today about the UFC.
It primarily discusses a lot of the background and, as usual, compares the sport to boxing.
Here is a snip from Dana White on the subject:
“This is the most exciting combat sport in the world, and I think this sport is refreshing to a lot of people. People are fed up with all the BS and politics that happen in boxing. This sport is still so pure. When De La Hoya leaves, it’s over for boxing.”
But, the piece also touches on several fighters and their stories, including Jeff Monson being questioned by the Secret Service for wearing an “Assassinate Bush” t-shirt to Tim Sylvia’s steroid use.
Check it out when you have some time.
