Dana could have such an incredible card on this PPV. He wants to keep getting bigger, these are your top three fights:

Tim Sylvia v. Randy Couture
Matt Hughes v. Diego Sanchez
Rich Franklin v. Mike Swick

GSP is down for a while with the knee injury, and still has to face Matt Serra which probably will not happen at 67. Hughes, Sanchez would be a number 1 contender fight.

And as far as Swick goes, I don’t understand how a guy that is undefeated in the UFC and who has been so dominant can be an undercard.

It wouldn’t get much bigger than that for a PPV

Is Karo still fighting at UFC 68? I’d love for diego sanchez to fight matt hughes, but that wont happen! It would be ideal for mike swick to fight rich franklin, and the winner of that face anderson silva. But, what do I know!? I’ll be at UFC 68 in ohio and get to witness randy cotoure become the first 3 time UFC heavyweight champ!!

R. Couture is one of my heroes , but I don’t think coming back was a good idea considering his age , he has to retire and keep his good Image or he will be in history like Royce Gracie or Tank Abott , and we will feel sorry for him insted.

Does anyone knows about the fight card for the event in Houston on April the 7th.

let me put this out there. This fightis going to be crazy. And as far as the silvia v.couture fight goes Randy is going to beast silvia and show him that hes a piece of crap and did not deserve his belt or his seven cars.secondly Chris lytle does not have the experience to stand in the same octagon as hughes but i can get over that it will just be another “W” for hughes. but im crazy hyped about seeing ‘The Hammer” Hamil fighting.this guy has the focus and strength, i think to take the throne from the almighty iceman someday.

What the hell is this guy talking about? Who the hell is Shogun? The UFC is about real fighters, not some fake two by four kicking little turd. I really like it when these losers talk about the wwf homo’s getting into the ufc, and when you try to tell them that it’s fake they get all pissed about it.

Shogun is a decent MMA fighter in PRIDE. He’s a BJJ guy who has some pretty solid skills, but not quite as talented as some people think. The “future”…? Mmm, maybe…take oout Chuck Liddell…? Yeah, ok. Sure. Dream on bozo.

Just saw the fights, and, as expected, Rich “Ace” Franklin & Matt Hughes have regained some of thier glory. The “Natural” did what was expected too…I think everyone knew he would dominate Silvia. I didn’t get to see Hamill fight, or Babalu, but it seems I got my money’s worth. Seeing Randy knock Silvia on his ass really showed me something. Thanks guys!

Hughes looked like crap and who in the world expected Couture to come out like that?

Oh, and to CORY, who said “Silvia’s a piece of crap”…I do believe Mr Silvia gave Mr Couture a run for his money, at least in part. I, for one, was rather impressed with Tim’s ability to forego the majority of Randy’s punishment. Just a little respect for the former champ, who (like or dislike) is a Helluva competitor. I don’t like the way Tim defended his belt, but I take nothing away from a guy who’s 6′8″.

While I’m at it, I was re-reading the posts, and saw the post about someone named Iyoto…possibly a PRIDE fighter. If he’s never fought Chuck Liddell, how would you know he’d BEAT him? My guess is, you wouldn’t. Speculation is human nature, but I dare you to wager your life savings on it. Chuck is the MAN.

Lyoto Machida is a current UFC fighter, who after watching Liddell’s sloppy performance against Tito, has a very good chance of beating Chuck “Nyquil” Liddell.

“Looked like crap”? Do you realize what an outstanding job Lytle did, in keeping Hughes neutralized? Wow, I musta saw a totally different fight than you did, my man. I’m a fighter, myself, and can tell ya Hughes did a good job. Lytle would’ve beaten Hughes if it was a total stand-up fight, and his ground game ain’t too shabby! Lighten up, MoreThanUFC!

Mirko said Tim gave Randy a run for his money? Even in part?? …Did we watch the same fight? Tim was on the defensive the COMPLETE 5 rounds. Personally I think Randy played it a bit conservative when going ‘for it’ because of Tim size, so sure give Tim some props for his size, but that is genetics my friend and nothing more. For whatever reason, Randy brought ‘it’ last night and Tim left ‘it’ at home. Tim looked sloppy and slow, Randy looked fined tuned and pretty much took Tim’s lunch money. I mean honestly, it wasn’t like Randy simply slipped in a good punch or Tim stumbled into a submisssion. Tim was outclassed in every way and in every round. Randy should have turned it up and end it early, but I guess you can’t blame Randy for understanding the size of Sylvia and not wanting to get ‘caught’.

Comment by J.R. King

Mirko, I agree. Whoever said Lytle did a poor job is an idiot. He was able to neutralize Hughes where a lot of men can’t. Past guard. The ground game for Lytle was unbelievable the way he turned over some of Hughes’ take downs. Incredible. He wasn’t afraid and didn’t hesitate. Much props for Chris Lytle. Oh and… for Couture? Ahh, I love being right. Couture is like I said on another post well disciplined and strategic for Sylvia. I’m in all my glory and I couldn’t be any more impressed with Randy “The Natural”. Great night overall.

This was Chris Lytle, CHRIS LYLTE!!!!! Sure a nice guy, sure an ex-boxer. But this is MMA. “Lytle would’ve beaten Hughes if it was a total standup fight” is so ridiculous a think to say, well, I’ll just leave it out there.
I really thought that if the old Hughes came back, GSP was in for a very short reign, but not anymore. The old Hughes did come back, and couldnt finish a guy from a comeback show. A losing guy from a comeback show. Let that sink in.

Hmmm, looks like I opened my mouth in a half-drunken stupor last night…sorry, guys…no hard feelings. Seems no matter what I say, I’m gonna offend somebody. Shucks, I guess we’ve all got our different points of view. ME, you were right on the money about Couture & Silvia, that Randy wayyy outclassed his bigger opponent. Total domination, to be sure. But, did you see that big ape (Silvia) escape Randy’s takedown? THAT was an impressive thing for someone so big, and so clumsy. Oh, and to MoreThanUFC; I’m sure that Machida is a great new fighter (though I’ve never seen him, that I can recall), but there have been alot of people who supposedly matched up well with Liddell, who got knocked the F### out. Chuck ALWAYS looks sloppy…it’s part of his charm. Throws his opponent’s timing off, makes ‘em overconfident, and gets ‘em to commit a fatal error. Then BANG - heh heh heh! Gotta love that guy!

I wanna see a free-for-all, like the ol’ Battle Royals of the former WWF…ha-ha-ha, just kiddin’. No, I would acually like to see some division-specific tournaments, pairing off the top 8-10 guys in each individual weight class, to see who would actually get a shot at that division’s title. It’s just a thought…anyone know who the Hell is actually on the card for UFC 69 yet? From the different posts I’m reading, it seems there’s alot of misinformation.

Yup, I gotta agree with ya, Alpha; Henderson is one of the most capable of the current crop of fighters. Chuck has been pretty much unstoppable, at Light-Heavyweight, but his ground skills aren’t all that impressive (assuming someone can get him to the mat & KEEP him there). He’s not impregnable. Just very, very heavy-handed…which has everybody in the division shakin’ in their proverbial boots, at the thought of getting pummeled by those jackhammer fists. CroCop should be a decent test of his abilities, if that one ever happens, but he does NOT wanta take the fight with Rampage lightly. And, if Chuck goes Heavyweight to fight against Mirko, won’t that bring him face-to-face with The Natural? Hmmm, I dunno ’bout you guys, but I would enjoy that showdown (their 4th) IMMENSELY! After the way Randy put the beat-down to Tim Silvia…man-oh-man!

I would LOVE TO SEE THE THE UFC DO PRIDE STYLE GRAND PRIXXES! That is what we need over here. Guys cant fight twice in the same night anymore, I dont think, but maybe with a slight rules change that could happen. Knees to a grounded opponent is back on the table I’m hearing ( and not just from Dana interview ), so maybe this one too?

Mirko, glad youre coming around. I’m telling ya this guy is no joke. Just because Liddell is high on nyquil all the time doesnt mean I dont think he is one bad MFer, its just I really wanna see him lose now, and I’m hoping Machida does it. Dam, imagine Crocop, Machida, Silva\Franklin, GSP, and Sherk as champs. Not a dickhead in the bunch. No one to fall asleep on live TV, ride scooters and shit themselves, disrespect their competitors, or take the title and run to Pride…. How is Dana gonna sell his show then? Maybe we can just have great fights then.

MoreThanUFC; you must know something I don’t (imagine that), since I didn’t know Dana was considering allowing the knee strikes to downed opponents. It would open up a whole new set of knockout highlight reels, that’s for sure. But, what didja mean by “Liddell is high on nyquil all the time”? I thought it was an advanced form of Meth…only kiddin’…but, who were you referring to when you said “No one to fall asleep on live TV, ride scooters and shit themselves, disrespect their competitors, or take the title and run to Pride”?

Falls asleep - Liddell
Scooters - Sylvia
Shit themselves - Sylvia
disrespect competitors - Hughes to GSP and Newton and on and on , Sylvia to Fedor and CC
take title and run to pride - Pulver, I know not exactly what happened, but Jens basically called the UFC every name in the book after they made him what he was, good job Gomi.

Sylvia or Couture or Crocop
Liddell or Machida or Rampage
Franklin or Silva \ aaaah dont care there
Hughes or GSP
Pulver or Sherk or almost anyone else in the LW class

I’ll take any of em on the right over any of em on the left except for Rich. This is Mixed MARTIAL ARTS not boxing or the WWE.

“This is Mixed MARTIAL ARTS not boxing or the WWE”. Uh-oh, am I in the wrong forum here (kidding)? I actually MET Liddell at the last RFC event, in Tampa, and he seems pretty cool. He was a guest commentator, and signed some autographs, at that event. Aside from that little difference in opinion, I agree with you on most of the other points. I’m NOT crazy about the Light-heavyweight, Sherk, though. Neither he, nor Florian, do anything for the division, excitement-wise. But, that’s just MY opinion. I still say there oughtta be a Super-heavyweight division. And, speaking of MMA vs Boxing/WWE…I say Winky takes out ANYONE in the UFC, per straight stand-up, and Chris Benoit takes ‘em on the ground, any day of the week. Jokin’ again, of course. :)

That statement refers to the way MMA fighters conduct themselves vs boxers and and WWE juicers. Liddell needs to follow in Shamrocks footsteps, or that joke that has become Dan Severn.

I want to see Rulon Garnder hone his skills and come to the UFC. I think he is a combination of Couture and Sylvia, size and grappling. If he learns some BJJ, watch out. Let’s not ignore the fact that he has survived now how many life threatening situations? He is a big bad farm boy with skills.

“Liddell needs to follow in Shamrocks footsteps, or that joke that has become Dan Severn”. - Hooooo boy, you’re a harsh one, my friend. But, you’re right about the way these guys need to conduct themselves, so the sport doesn’t draw the same negative reaction that those other two have. Trash talk is an element you’re not gonna be able to avoid, but that’s about as far as it should go. I, and doubtless everyone who saw it, am very disappointed in the way Forrest Griffin acted after losing his last fight, in December. It reminded me of when I was three, and my momma said I couldn’t have any more cookies before dinner. Thanks for your thoughts, bro’.

I greatly suspected that Randy Couture saw some gaping hole in Sylvia’s fight game that others has missed. I guess that years of experience certainly can be an advantage at times. However, I wonder how long Couture can hold the belt considering he will soon be facing the likes of Mirco Crocop. Well, even if he loses, nothing can be taken away from Randy Couture at this point; the man is a living legend of MMA.

Oh, something can be taken away, like his body in an ambulance. Retire Randy, star in more movies, go help Evan out, mow the lawn, drink a beer, pray to God, where tightie whities and run down the street singing “We are the Champions” under a full moon on an August day, but dont fight Mirko.

Sorry bro’…I, for one, WANNA see Couture vs CroCop. I know in my heart it’s a losing battle, but that’s what makes it so damn cool. Randy’s got some serious STONES to even think he’s got a chance, but, it would make for a great draw. And what if he WINS? CroCop is one of the greatest, no doubt about it. But, even AFTER Randy’s starred in his latest movie, helped out his buddy Evan Tanner, mowed the big bad lawn, and ran down the street in his tightie-whities, drinkin’ a beer, to “We are the champions”, I say he’s got a fair shot. But, I’m just a fan. Guess we gotta wait an’ see.
