It’s hard not to look past the upcoming UFC 62: “Liddell vs. Sobral” event this weekend, but a lot of stuff is going down right now that we just can’t pass up.
Thanks to an article yesterday from MMAringreport.com, here’s the latest:
–Dana White essentially confirmed that the Chuck Liddell–Wanderlei Silva mega showdown is unlikely; Liddell-Ortiz II is the likely replacement
–We will see Ortiz-Shamrock III (unfortunately) for free on SpikeTV because White believes fans were cheated out of a proper finish
–Kendall “The Spider” Grove from The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3 will return to action at the next Ultimate Fight Night on October 10 against Chris Price in a middleweight contest
–Kenny Florian will fight Sean Sherk at UFC 64 in October for the vacant lightweight title
–Marc Ratner is still working hard to get MMA sanctioned in New York. This will have to happen after November 7, however, when a new Governor is elected
–The UFC 63: “Hughes vs. St. Pierre” event on September 23 will take place in California – not Montreal as rumored – because the Bell Center was already booked for a NHL preseason game
Stay tuned for even more UFC breaking news.
